Your net profit is not $1,200. You don't know what the adjusted game odds are if GS wins the first game and you are only hedging your original $400 + 20 on that first game.
Further your net profit of $1,200, if true, comes at an investment of $5,900, none of which was ever guaranteed (and I stress that last part...the trades and transactions throughout the year got you here far beyond just the LBJ signing. God, I could even go back to the blatt inbounds play against Chicago where he wanted Lebron to throw in...).
To be holding a ticket for $11,000+ and to get paid not $11,000, but ABOUT ONE TENTH of that, and this is the key, and this is what I've been trying to convey for MONTHS to the brainless posters here (which falls on deaf ears time and time again) is NOT A remarkable investment in the least and was a MASSIVE gamble on your part at 28-1 before Lebron came.
That was part of the reason I created this thread at 3-1! To elucidate that to the troglodytes here...all for not. Because all those ticket holders were dancing in the streets like they already won. And still, they haven't won a dime.
Now, Klay is concussed and the basketball gods smile on the Cavs yet again (even after the curry fall which could have broken his neck), and sometimes I do believe in good fortune as is happening to the Cavs.
Anyhow, the ROI of $1,200 is NOT threadworthy, was never even close to 'guaranteed' AND you had to have $5,900 just to get that return (something 99.9% of the bettors here could only dream of as a bankroll), hence my entire discussion of those very people without the bankroll and the 30-1 ticket letting it ride and possibly getting nothing.
But you see the posters we have here and they simply can't engage in any form of meaningful debate on this with reasonable counterpoints (specifically literal teenagers in Rodwomans and FadeOride).
That's not a shot at you but a shot at the discussion here with many posters who are treating this topic like it's an attack on their faith, if religious.
So the hedge? Unremarkable.
If you cash a 28-1 ticket (even with the nectar of the basketball gods dripping into the Cavs mouths with all these injuries),that by the way you are currently hedging, then you can brag.
But until then...
