Well folks, you better believe there will be a big swinging dic* strolling up in this thread. And that swinging dic*... is mine.
This thread originally started out as a rant about all the 30-1 futures holders who were dancing in the Vegas streets like they already won something after Lebron came and the odds plummeted to 3-1.
Well just as I said in the OP, the team was wildly flawed and just as I said throughout this thread, Lebron did not win in his first year in Miami with a better cast and he wouldn't win here.
Then you have the "Well look at all the injuries!" troglodytes.
And I retort with, "Well look at all the key players that the league's bottom-feeders handed to the Cavs to make up for all their deficiencies."
And it was those very players that kept them IN the running, not take them out.
Did bad luck bite them in the end? Of course. But Lebron should think twice before he decides to flop wildly headfirst into a cameraman as well, furthering his team's 'hospital-gown' state.
And to all those who said this money was GUARANTEED!!!!
What was GUARANTEED!!???! And how much was guaranteed anyway to hoot and holler about it???
I begged and pleaded for someone, anyone, on the biggest gambling site in the world to tell me they hedged out during the season like Rangerz suggested. We didn't find A SINGLE POSTER in a thread of near 16,000 view and near 600 responses who did that.
We found ONE GUY who actually bought a $400 ticket at 28-1 and he worsened his situation BY HEDGING (not his fault) and ultimately made a 21% rate of return. WOW. . Look all the hedgers dancing in the street. On top of that, he needed a whopping $5,500 to get that 21% return. Most guys here are DOWN $5,500 or more and would be able to do no such thing.
So to my rant in the OP and comments throughout the thread, I said the Cavs WOULD NOT WIN. Why? Because of all the pomposity and hysteria that surrounded Lebron coming to Cleveland overshadowing a flawed team (and a rookie coach to boot).
And now we recognize the trolls who DESPERATELY kept this thread alive, as they always do, in an effort to make me look bad. Trolls like:
BWS77 - A raging bigot in general discussion who cares about the black male in one way and one way only...on the hardwood where he can make money off them. Otherwise, they can all disappear in his eyes.
Trolls like:
FADEORIDE
Three of the least most respected covers members in the NBA Forum, the NFL forum or MLB forum. Hell, they wouldn't even find respect in the Website Promotions forum.
And finally,
VEGASVANDAL
A guy who lost 7 straight bets in one thread and has the audacity to criticize me about COMMENTARY (not a bet folks, commentary) concerning Coach K.
Yes, folks, you will get a roll call of trolls when you are dealing with me.
So to finish up...
$100 30-1 bettors (the overwhelming majority of you) who let it ride?
Your tickets are IN THE SHREDDER.
3-1 bettors? All your tickets are surely in the shredders (try hedging out at -220 to start the series and -700 after game 1).
To the 1% that actually profited something, nice job. Vegas made MORE than enough off all the tickets that found their way to the shredder to pay your behind**s.
Another day, another dollar, another troll bloodbath...

Yes, yes, hundreds of thousands of bettors took that 30-1 bet. You really know what you are talking about. I'm sure the odds would have stayed at 30-1 if hundreds of thousands of bettors bet the Cavs at those long odds.
And what a solid bet it was...It met the shredder in the end.
And like every losing degenerate gambler, if they hedged out before the finals, they added to the money needed necessary to hedge out in the finals, which WAS AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME with the WORST ODDS to hedge by far.
Again, there was ONE GUY here, ONE who put $400 on it and to make 21%....TWENTY ONE PERCENT OVER THE COURSE OF EIGHT MONTHS, he needed $5,500 to get him that 21%. If he doesn't have that $5,500? Poof, like all the rest, just shredded bets.
And to this notion it was a good bet anyway? It was a WILD gamble.
Lebron had to come to Cleveland and Love had to be traded for without any big assets outside of Wiggins being moved. Then the old legs they brought in were worthless. The Knicks and Nuggets saved their season and their lack of bench eventually proved to be their demise as they leaned heavily on their starters and the injury bug bit them.
All in all, that 30-1 bet was a lottery tickets...and it is up in smoke tonight in the Cosmos, save a precious few who got some ashtray money back compared to dreams of 10K 20K or 30K.....LOL....yeah, those amounts are not being paid tonight in any way/shape/form.

Thanks, but it's a yes and no with regard to the call. I paid a lot of chalk to have the Cavs 'not win the title', but I made no thread about that. No one needs a thread advising them to take on - ML odds.
I did however, warn 30-1 bettors (and most certainly 3-1 bettors) that their tickets were toast from day 1 given the flawed nature of this team (that went through several different roster changing stages, like many do throughout a season). Yes it came down to the final 2 games, but as Suuma elucidated about, this series wasn't as close as it appeared, that is, when the Cavs played a real opponent from the West.

Suuma, don't feel bad.
There was a guy on here who posted about TWENTY ONE straight winners in the NBA forum, and the second he went cold, the trolls started bashing the kid. The kid admitted he had no system and offered no write-ups, just picks. Still hit 21 of the suckers in a row. Good enough? Nah. The trolls were there to kick him when he went down the second he lost. It's like they like live for schadenfreude

Anyone that disagrees with you or criticizes you is "one of the least most respected members of the forum", Tweedledum. Doesn't matter the content of their message.
And you think you are "one of the most most respected members of the forum"? Think again, Tee Dum.
