Really nice write up...... fellow new Yorker here too.
One more note... Knicks have been playing some solid defense on this hon this home stand these last couple of weeks.
Detroit is a mess and brooklyn is finally starting to play to their talent level. KG and pierce look like they are having fun out there again..... easy win last night and defensively they are much better now.
I don't think detroit will hang with them....Livingston is a bad match up for their guards. So is a healthy Blanche and kirilenko.

Scalabrine, excellent write up my man, always appreciated, I like the knicks tonite as well, I know its shady, but I like detroit at home tonite -2 vs Bk. And I really really like the Kings tonite as well, I think the kings are on to something here... -1(as of now ) @ Bos..Gl with your plays Scalebrine..hope to hear what u think about kings game tonite as well
Kings definitely can win and cover if cousins can't be stopped and so far he hasn't been stopped. I'm just not crazy about short road favorites like this for a team with a mere 17 wins (against a team with an equal 17 wins too at home) so it's a no play for me.
Remember how the perception of this team has changed in the past two games. They were -2 dogs at home against the bulls two games ago, went to a pickum against the team leading the atlantic in the raps and now are laying two to a team that definitely hasn't rolled over, has the same record has won two in a row and now you have to pay up with 2 points tonight. Another annoying line so it's a no play for me but because the kings have so many scoring options and a now healthy cousins, I can't blame ya for the pick. My beans are in the Knicks basket.

If NY wins tonight, what line do u think they will throw out there for the OKC game? Also, i know you dont play totals, but thoughts on the 207.5? Seems a tad high, espcially if the Knicks win as that puts them at 104 minimum to go over .....
Sweet writeup
It's gotta be -10/-10.5 IMO. If the Knicks are impressive tonight it will dip below that number.
I have absolutely no authority to say anything about totals...

Think Melo is still motivated to stick it to his former squad? I definitely do.
And Felton too! As bad as he's been...
And remember, the Nets success after the new year, 12-4 I believe, has only intensified the focus on the Knicks struggles.
Even the nuggets playing well do the same. Gallo out. McGee out. Nuggets still over .500. Knicks are ELEVEN GAMES under .500 and largely healthy now.
So this game has special significance beyond individual player revenge spots given the nuggets are the team Melo was traded from and they are flourishing without Melo. Matter of fact, the only guy that has been there from the trade for the nuggets success (non-injured) is Timofey Mosgov!
Addition by subtraction to say the least. Melo and Felton and the knicks brass are quite aware of this when Denver comes to NYC (Knicks 3-1 post trade at home).

Fellow NYer huh? How bad was the mass transit nightmare for the Super Bowl. What a disgrace!
I understand your stance on the nets but this is a b2b with much older legs here.

Of note, the kings were pounded by the public in my last pick. As were the Knicks when they beat the nets by 30, as were the Knicks when they beat the bucks in double OT (all line moves against us) so I have been on several public favorites and they have hit (comfortably in many spots too).

It shouldn't get to 2 which is a relief.

Scalabrine...appreciate always your info....you still taking the knicks -1.5??????
Well my bet was in this morning at +1.5but I wouldn't recommend a game if I thought -1.5 was a number I had to get outside of to win (meaning in dealing with that thin a margin of victory) I wouldn't make this post.

If this game opened at -1.5 I would have been pist but the write up and post would have been the same. I love short favorites at home which this opened as but now clearly -1.5 is the number so I'd have to swallow the points.

Not sure that came across right.

Scal! When you do have a "back the truck up" you should put that in the title :D gl Scal tailing u
I usually just put LARGE in the OP as a signal.
It's a tricky game because we are calling an ATS victory and SU win off three straight losses ATS and SU, that is, there are no real betting indicators to say the streak ends tonight. You have to argue from a team philosophy/mindset/desperation perspective to sell the side you are promoting.
I will say the Knicks outplayed the blazers on paper (higher FG %, fewer turnovers, = in rebounds) and they came within a blown Anthony layup to get inside the number.
In a way, the Blazer game was a right side wrong result and if you took the Knicks at +3 so that does improve their ATS perception going into this game...

Great insight. I was leaning towards knicks as well. Everyone says "they're def going to make the playoffs" but were getting closer and closer to playoff time and they're like 11 games below .50. If they have any intention of making the playoffs they need to win games!!! And they're schedule is not getting any easier... This is a chance for the knicks to get back on track and like you said go into the all star break on a high note. KNICK+1.5 LESSS GOO!!
