WEDNESDAY 1Q PICKS

MIAMI +2 1/2>>>Miami has been an away dog 2 times this year.  Both times they've covered.  They've won 3 of 4 quarters.  Atlanta on the other hand just lost both quarters against POR as a home fave.  But before that they've covered 5 of 6 quarters. 

INDIANA -2>>>Has been at home.  Losing the both quarters in their 1st home game (against Miami).  New York is perfect at home, but on the road, they have only covered 1 quarter out of 6.

CLEVELAND -1 1/2>>>Cleveland has been perfect as an away team (at home too) and have covered 8 out of 10 quarters.  Washington is perfect at home also.  They were a home dog once and has covered the 1st quarter.  At home they have covered 5 out of 8 quarters.  Cleveland is the better team at a small price.  If Cleveland covers 1Q, Washington might be a play in the 3Q.

CLIPPERS +1 1/2>>>I know, I know... I took Clippers yesterday.  They are playing a Memphis team that has covered 2 out of 8 quarters at home.  Clippers losses yesterday was the only time they came in as an away fave.  As an away dog, the Clippers have covered 6 of 8 quarters and has covered every game.

HOUSTON -1 1/2>>>As an away team, Houston has covered every game.  They have won 6 of 10 quarters.  Minnesota has covered 3 of 5 games at home and have won only 3 of 10 quarters. 

TORONTO +2 1/2>>>Toronto is perfect as an away team.  They have covered 9 of 14 quarters.  Utah has won 2 of 4 games at home.  As a fave, they've only covered 1 of 6 quarters with one quarter being a push.

I have been following your posts for a few weeks, the system is cool.

I like cleveland, they can start hot! Pacers  D-wade lost both quarters last night, 1st by 8 and 3rd by 12, they drop both tonight as well. Houston is

I'll watch the others and make 3rd quarter plays

I don't watch all the games- so I don't know how certain players are playing...

I look at trends from previous games this year and last year.  All I see are numbers and if a team covered or not.  I like this system because I can look at trends and pick out teams that are strong plays. 

What I need are people, like you, who watch games and can give insight on teams they follow.  This would help eliminate losses.



Regarding the Atlanta/ Miami game, the play would be Atlanta -2 1/2 instead of Miami +21/2.  I did more research.  Miami has lost the last 3 games (at home), not covering any 1Q/3Q. 

Now I gotta buy back the Miami game

Orlando has been at home covering 5 of 6 games.  Losing 1Q & 3Q playing against a focused Cleveland. 

OKC's only 1Q/3Q loss came from Houston as an away team.  This can go either way.  I would wait until the half to determine who to pick.  Pick opposite of who wins the 1Q (unless one team is ahead double digits at the half, then go with them).

I just call the heat d-wade because they turn as he does. But I like the atlanta play. They should be rested and ready to hoop.

I read on yahoo that cleveland leads the league in first quarter scoring and they havent lost the first since the loss to the bulls. The only thing I dont like is that washington has been looking decent in the 1st. What do you think about first quarter totals? I capped a couple last night but didnt play them. went 1-1. Got any suggestions?

PHO -2>>>This is more a lean than anything else.  Phoenix has lost the last 3 games (1 home, 2 road) against the numbers in both 1Q/3Q.  Before that they won both quarters at home against New Orleans.  Prior to their game with LAC New Orleans have also lost the last 3 games (1 home, 2 road) against the numbers in both 1Q/3Q. Phoenix is the better team and so far this year, no team has lost 3 straight against the numbers.

UTA +1 1/2>>>Utah has covered as a road team all but once this year and that was against Boston as an 11 point dog.  They also beat San Antonio in both quarters at home as a 1 point dog.  San Antonio has won 2 of 4 games against the numbers at home.  They've covered only 2 of 8 quarters as a home fave.

LAL -3>>>Except for losing both quarters to Dallas in their 2nd home stand, the Lakers have won every game at home.  They have covered 9 of 12 quarters.  As a road dog, Chicago has covered 2 of 4 games, 3 of 8 quarters.

I gotta go to work again today and every week day until Christmas.  So, I'll post the plays each day early.  If someone can post 3Q lines that would be helpful.   


For those new to the thread, if these teams don't cover in the 1Q, bet them in the 3Q...unless they're behind double digits by half, then go with the other team or no play.

CLE-1>>> What is up with this line?  Looks fishy to me... Anyways... Cleveland so far is 100% covering the numbers- home or away.  Small number to cover.  Atlanta at home has never been dogs.  They've been favored in 6 home games covering 4 of those games and covering 1Q & 3Q in 2 of those games.  I'll keep riding the LeBron train

MEM/PHI>>>  NO PLAY.  Philadelphia at home has covered 4 of 6 games at home, covering 5 of 12 quarters.  Memphis as a road team has done better.  They were perfect until the last road game against Houston where they lost both quarters.  Memphis has covered 6 of 12 road games.

MIA/TOR>>> Toronto on the road is 100% covering the numbers; but, at home they've only covered 2 of 4 games- losing to ORL & DET.  Miami on the road is 100%, covering 3 of 3 road games as a dog.  Lean to Miami, but so far just a lean- cuz Miami isn't playing too well.

HOU +2>>> I love HOU getting points!  They are at home or away.  Houston is 100% on the road and at home.  Atlanta does well at home also, but lost 2 of 6 games.

FRIDAY 1Q PICKS cont...

ORL+2>>>Orlando has covered most of their games away or at home, winning 10 of 12 games.  Boston has not done as well as last years numbers (covering 95% at home).  They have covered 4 of 7 games and have lost as faves against NO, PHO, and ATL.  They did beat GSW in both the 1Q & 3Q in their last at home game.

WA +1>>>Washington has covered 9 of 10 games so far this year.  As a road team, they suffered their first loss by IND as a 1.5 point dog.  OKC has done well this year covering 8 of 11 games.  At home they're only loss came from POR as 3 point faves.  I like WA getting points.

DAL -3 1/2>>>DAL is 11-2-1 this year.  As a home team they've covered 5 of 6 games.  Dallas has yet to cover both 1Q/3Q at home.  4 of their 5 wins at home was in the 3Q.  For those who like adventure in their gambling lives... Take SAC in the 1Q and DAL in the 3Q .  BUT...SAC is 2 of 4 games as a road team, losing to OKC and SA.

MIL -1>>> MIL is also doing well this year.  They've covered 8 of 9 games and is 100% at home.  CHA is perfect at home but are 2-2-1 as a road team- losing to BOS & CLE.  In the games that Charlotte covered, they did so in the 1Q.  Milwaukee has covered in the 3Q 5 of 6 games.  For those who like adventure in their gambling lives... Take CHA in the 1Q and MIL in the 3Q

I was looking at this page and I screwed up with the record of this system this week.  I looked at the wrong numberS.

This week's record MON-THU

13-5-1= 72%

Last night I played LAL -1/2 in the 3Q.  This was a system play.  Any team ahead double digits in the half, take them in the 3Q (even if they won the 1Q)

POR -2 1/2>>>POR is 11-2-1 this year.  As a road team, they are 5-1-1- losing only to CHA as 2.5 point faves.  GSW is 7-4 this year and 3-1 at home losing to LAC.  Their last home game they won both 1Q & 3Q against MIN.  POR is the better team.

DEN/LAC>>>This is a NO PLAY. LAC lost the last 2 OF 3 home games.  DEN has lost the last 3 of 4 road games
