So what are you going to do ? Write your congressman and see if he can have Vegas give you your money back ? Did they return everyone's money that lost on the Donaghy reffed games ? Hell no.
Betting on sports is an option in life not mandatory. No one should give a shit if someone dumped there life savings on Sports Betting. No one put a gun to your head and made you do it. You shouldn't be gambling if you can't afford to lose.Take some self responsibility in life.
The Government has more important things to do like fix the economy instead of worry about some degenerate who was dumb enough to lose his life savings betting on a game that had some questionable calls. There is a reason it's called gambling.
Wow. That is a terrible post. And you usually contribute good stuff. You ended that post by writing "There is a reason it's called gambling." Yeah, well, gambling is not what we're doing when the outcome of the over/under is arranged beforehand. When I'm gambling, I like to believe that I have a chance to win. What went down last night gave me no chance because those three referees were clearly on a mission to get that game over 209 points regardless of how fast or slow, slick or sloppy, or hot or cold the players were.
All of this bellyaching I've been doing isn't about the eight grand I lost on under 209.5 and under 109.5 in the second half, Johnny Utah. It's about having the players decide my bet, not the VERY OBVIOUSLY cheating referees (which in this instance, were Eric Lewis, Tom Washington, and Phil Robinson - let's keep muddying their names, they deserve it).

i think you guys are taking his comments the wrong way.. i personally don't care that I lost the bet.. this is just really bad for the integrity of the game.
Thank you! Geez! It's hard enough to win money. I don't need to be robbed once a month for 5-10K on one of these fix-o-ramas. And for those that lamely retort that "Aw, you can be on the right side of the fix just as easily, blah, blah, blah", uh, I don't think so. They are only fixing overs because that's the only thing that makes sense to fix, and guess what kind of totals I bet 90% of the time?
NOT overs!

It's a fact of life anytime there is shit loads of money involved there will be corruption. Greed is the root of all evil. I wish I was the guy that invented Powerball lottery. On a 400 million dollar jack pot that was suppose to be 410 million. Whose ever going to miss that 10 million or know it was suppose to be 410 million. That's the greatest scam going.
The "LOVE of MONEY" is the root of all EVIL but I agree with you brother anytime money is involve, corruption is involve. This is a Topic that will never be resolved you ll have those that say games are fixed and those that say otherwise. Me Im on the side that say games are corrupted which is sad cause I used to Love sports with a passion. But ever since I put my first wager in "The Love is Now Gone" just have to be on the "Right Side" like others have said many times.

Bator coe on bro this guy is almost as bad as u were in your thread this morning there was no fix last night bro. Back when we were knocking off at better than 60% a year ago u did not ever cry fix. All of a sudden the refs fixed the game?
J Gambler, I've seen a few of my under bets get raped like last night's under bet got raped, but it wasn't until this season that I had finally seen enough to make me vent about it here on Covers. And I did that for the first time on January 2nd, when Eric Lewis and two other fuckin' crooks did the same shit to make the Bulls/Cavaliers total go over 196.5 (look for my thread on that one if you want to learn the details).

Let it go u have made much more than u lost and to say this is a fix and trying to back up your case u are over looking some of your wins might have been fixed as well, are you willing to give your bookie back your money????
Again, for the 9th time, I am not going to be on the lucky side of any of these fixes because I very seldom bet overs at all and I never bet an over for big money. So each time I'm unfortunate enough to be involved with the under in one of these completely crooked games, I'm going to get fucked.
There will be no "evening out" of these rapes for under bettors.

Bator I'm the first person to agree with you the game is fixed. You were on the wrong side which sucks but there's nothing you can do.
I don't know you personally but from what I've read you do this for a living obviously you win more bets than you lose to do that. It was a terrible loss but move on. You probably won your 8K back tonight. No use worrying about what happen last night you can't change it.

mr bator...im with you on that bullshit from last night...i ended up losing 1100 on 1st half over... 550 on over 1st quarter...then after the watching the way the 1st half played out the under 109.5 seemed solid so double up to 3300 to make up for the crap...the pace was well under the total of 109.5 if not for the ridiculous fouls and numerous invisible calls that pushed it way overr...so i can sympathize with you here mr bator...guys that do not play semi large do not understand this that one terribly officiated game can fuck up a whole month's winnings.....got lucky with lakers 2nd half and lakers to make up for the debacle..hopefully you cashed in as well...good luck to you rest of the way...unc -7, unc-6 unc-5 unc-4 looks solid although alot of juice to pay...but villanova is way overmatched..

I am still FURIOUS over this bullshit OVER. If anyone doesn't believe the ref's had everything to do with it...they obviously didn't watch the fucking game. During the last two minutes of the 4th quarter, I almost threw my laptop at my $3,000 flat screen TV. Glad I didn't, but c'mon man...the reality is - IT WAS RIGGED...

Dude, you think the pot is supposed to be $410 million when they actually only award $400 million? Uh..........NO. The pot has never gotten that enormous, but as an example, when the pot is something massive like $200 million, the true odds dictate that the actual pot should be MORE THAN TWICE THAT! The lottery is the biggest scam in all of gambling, my friend! Only the mentally deficient participate in a drawing where you can expect less than a 30% return on your dollar (after taxes).

Bator, you don't need to prove anything, 50% of the people here agree with you and the other 50% just don't want to believe it.
I was on that over last night and won, but I knew there was something up when the 4th quarter started, I even posted about it.
The one thing I can say is that you must play ALOT of Fixed Over/Unders because I always feel that I am on the winning side, and you are on the other, yet I still agree with fixes, if I win or lose.

Bator...I was always a huge Under bettor. I can't tell you how many games I've lost due to "fishy" foul calls and questionable late game 3-point shots when a team's up 15....etc. That's why I stay away from Unders 9 out of 10 times. It's usually either an Over play for me or nothing...unless I really love the Under for whatever reason.
I know you may think this is stupid and you can't win betting overs constantly...but yes you can and I've done it consistently over the last 4 years. It's not like I'm playing every game on the board as an over....I'm narrowing down the entire board of games (usually 3-10 a night) and picking the Over most likely to hit...if any. There will always be a game that goes over each night...just gotta find it brother.
I hate unders for the simple reason that you stated above: It's the only sports wager that's logical to actually "fix" if the refs wanted to. How you gonna fix an Under? Players would have to do this and I just don't see a millionaire star player that actually gets enough touches/shots to actually miss enough shots to kill the total willing to blow a game and get caught when he's rich already. Just don't buy it. Refs can't fix the Unders. However.....they can VERY EASILY control the amount of points scored. 1 whistle is very easy to do.
And lastly brother...what the hell are you doing betting 8K on an NBA game. That's just insanity. Don't get me wrong...you may be some very rich stock-broker who pisses 8K away like nothing....then that's cool. I consider myself a very good handicapper and I've consistently won over the last 5 years and having a rough first 5 years (10 total)...but I just could NEVER wager that kind of money on these clown in the NBA. One player has way too much influence on the outcome of a game. One player COULD "fix" a game if he wanted to...but I doubt it really happens. I could see betting serious cash on football....now that's a team sport that I think is much harder to fix.
Oh well...tough beat in the Utah game and I 100% agree the fouls were crazy. I was laughing the final 3 minutes.

Okay, here we go. This writer is basically SAYING IT without saying it. He covers himself legally in the very first sentence, but after that, he carefully outlines the Obvious Fix that most of us watched last night.
That was an excellent article. Basically breaks down the 10 pages of this thread in a couple paragraphs. Completely validates everything you are saying. Boys and Girls, the internet article is the modern day newspaper so that website reference is as good as the front page of the sports section in a Denver/Utah printed periodical.
I'm still amazed the some buffoonish NBA fans still write "Bator wins...rah rah rah shish boom bah :::pom poms shake:::...and Bator loses....He crys FIX!"
This is after a referee in the NBA was sentenced to 15 MONTHS IN PRISON for FIXING GAMES!!!! Forgotten? Disregarded? Then that same man, under threat of perjury (i.e. more prison time, embarrassment, public humiliation) went on to further state that gambling and NBA game fixing was much more widespread than the NBA's rouge official conspiracy theory.
What exactly are the individuals who are posting here learning in the public/private education system, if anything? Are you not taught to form a viable, reasoned opinion through empirical evidence? Or do you sit in a high chair, with a bib on, taking in the pureed carrots and prunes that David Stern spoon-feeds you with regard to having this problem contained and eliminated. If the latter is the case, 'unvelcro' your diaper and you'll see your opinion staring you in the face.
The complaints outlined are about having a fair attempt to capitalize on an investment that has a return of
+91%/-100%. That's a huge swing for a 2 hour 40 minute period, and when you feel you're cheated out of it, you're understandably pist off. Just like you'd be pist off if you had half you're investment portfolio invested in Lehman Brothers, AIG, Bank of America, etc. etc. and found out you've been fleeced.
People please, before you post, provide a sound counter-argument that encapsulates the fact you could be considered the species person sapien and avoid looking like a monkey sitting your shit, rubbing it all over your face while grinning like you did here.
Love the fact i found out Elvis shot out his TV
scalabrine.......(sniffle)........you're the best.
I wish I could have written something like that as eloquently as you did, but I'm glad there was someone capable of doing it. That post was top notch.
The likes of jealous mental midgets like HoldEm00 can eat shit after reading your post.

Bator I wasn't talking about the taxes. I don't know how the lottery is set up but my point is the president of the lottery has a slush fund that takes 10 million out of the 410 million right into his account. Whose going to miss that.

Notice how the article points out early on refs were allowing physical play and then late were calling everything. That shows it was not rigged. They would have called it close from the get go and not waited for a last second over. Look at how physical the 2nd quarter was and there were not many free throws. Melo was fouled about 4 straight drives and never got to the line. Boozer was getting roughed up and not getting any calls. Just inconsistent bad refereeing which is normal for the NBA. I mean look how the refs stole the Mavs championship a couple of years back. It was so blatant with Bennet Salvatore's last second phantom call putting the ! point on it. NBA refs suck
I disagree. Why start calling phantom fouls from the start of the game with two teams that are capable of high scoring games? What if it turns out to be unnecessary? For example, what if the Jazz and Nuggets had started out red hot, and pretty much sent this game on its way to the over with terrific shooting? Then the refs wouldn't have had to cheat, or maybe not cheat as much. But with a stilted 45-point first quarter, and a 97-point first half, the treasonous trio of Lewis, Washington, and Robinson knew they had work to do as they discussed the situation in their locker room at halftime. The shooting throughout the game was so bad that they had to overdo it, calling more curious fouls in the second half than they would have liked. And on top of that, the free throw shooting was lousy, too, which precipitated still more fouls, and ultimately my legitimate "FIX!" thread.

I could see betting serious cash on football....now that's a team sport that I think is much harder to fix.
Oh well...tough beat in the Utah game and I 100% agree the fouls were crazy. I was laughing the final 3 minutes.
Hey Robert I agree Football player wise is harder to fix but the QB has a lot of Control. Jake Delome against Arizona in the playoffs. 8 turnovers and 6 picks. The whole world on Carolina.

Bator, didn't happen to see the end of the New orleans game tonight did you?
Really makes you wonder.......
Yeah, I watched it. What about it? It was a classic intentional fouling situation that went on and on because the Hornets kept scoring after the Warriors shot free throws. Frustrating as fuck for second half under bettors, without a doubt, but there nothing rigged about it.
