We hit another winner last nite with Boston but what gives in the West? Well....if you are a purist and believe these games are all played straight up, you are pounding Golden State tonite. Why wouldn’t you? I mean they played mediocre ball in game 1 on the road, Harden banked 40 plus yet the Dubs still won by double digits. So why would it be any different tonite you ask? Well....there is a lot on the line for the league imo. All year, we’ve seen this Houston storyline pick up steam and all year we’ve heard the media tell us that Houston is a legit opponent to the powerhouse out in Oakland but if Houston goes down 0-2 at home with Golden State on a win streak at home in the playoffs, can the league afford a sweep or a 5 game series? We’ve seen a subpar playoffs so far and if we see Boston disniss Cleveland fast and the dubs dismiss the “contenders” in Houston fast who is watching the finals? Think about it......
Not only is this a must win for Houston but it’s a must win for the league imo. Why? Because even though it’s obvious silver wants superteams flooding the league, what about ratings this year? Can Boston really hang with the dubs in the finals? I don’t think they can because we’d be looking at another weak a$$ finals. So how do you combat that? You allow this series to play out. And by that, I mean Houston winning tonite to at least give the viewer something to ponder even though we all know who the better team is in the West. I thought there’d be a split after two games and picked game 1 for Houston to take. I was wrong but can that split still happen? Sure but it’s gonna take the perfect storm folks. We will need the perfect batch of officials tonite, we will need the warriors to do their part much like the way they do their part on occasion to the Suns and the Lakers and the crap teams allowing them to cover when we all know those teams have no chance. But hey the nba is pure right? Haaaaa! Yeah....ok.
Once again I’m putting myself out there with this approach and if it fails then so be it. Let the trolls come in here but if I’m right, the league wins tonite and Houston wins tonite. Say what you want but the nba is weak. There is no parity, the acting is awful and silver is a conman. People are starting to see this and if the Dubs dispose of the rockets quickly in this series, you can build as many super teams as you want; to those who know what the nba truly is about, it’s gonna lose its pull. All year, the league pushed and pushed the rockets down our throats as did the media. The All State commercials, the beard getting his mvp and the multiple big win streaks that resulted in the best record and home court. Coincidence this all happened this year? Nope. It was the plan all along so tonite we get to see the league play their hand. The refs already favor the rockets here and the media is already counting out the rockets. Again, as I look at this forum, whoever is taking the Warriors tonite....you don’t even have to answer the question of do you believe the nba is impure because in taking the warriors tonite, you tell me and everybody else you think all games are won ON THE COURT straight up. If you are taking the rockets, it’s for one reason folks and that’s the idea that the league needs and wants a rockets win. It will be good for ratings, it will reaffirm their storyline they pushed down our throats and it will give the viewer something to think about going forward. So with all of this....as hard a it is to hit submit on the rockets tonite, I have to because too many parties need it. The books, the league, and the future of this watered down game need it. If I am wrong I will hear about but I could care less. I’ve won too many games and made too much money believing games in pro sports are purely entertainment and with all the money they produce, whatever it takes is whatever it takes to sell the product.
If the rockets win tonite it will have just as much to do with the warriors going through the motions and acting as if they are struggling. It will take calls to support the home team and with this bet, I think we see that. Again, I could be wrong but I also could be right. I’m 2-0 in the ECF and looking to even up my record in the West here with a very tough bet in taking Houston. If Houston wins great, if they lose....the script of the dubs being untouchable and causing other teams to join in on the idea stays alive. That was the script last year and it still could be the one this year but leaving a lot of money on the table in letting this series go quickly doesn’t make sense especially with the finals probably being like last year. Good luck to all here, tail or fade. One thing is for sure....if this bet wins, the trolls won’t be visiting like last nite with my win but if it loses, stop by this thread and visit and you will see covers at its best. All in all, I’m taking the Rockets tonite. Enjoy.
