Where are you getting these numbers? Kobe's % is worse than LeBron's in the clutch; meaning he took more, and landed at a less %.

Slightly better cast? Odom and Gasol are better than anyone on the cavs aside from LeBron. Gasol is one of the best big men in the league. Slightly? You're delusional.

And btw, you act like they play tougher competition;

Cavs are 16-12  in the west vs their 18-14 in the east...thats a 4 game different total from east to west. They've beaten Spurs, LAKERS TWICE, Utah, Golden State, Dallas, And Portland and will continue to do so even with his garbage team.

Cavs are 0-6 without him. Against teams like Charlotte, Seattle, and other garbage teams during that stretch. He has the biggest +/- impact to his team stat wise meaning when he is on the bench, his team suffers more than any other team, and when he plays, well, we all know what happens.

Lastly, Kobe 3-13fg 7 turnovers, and his team still wins by 15. That's not MVP. The lakers could win when Kobe has a bad game; the Cavs can't. That's the real definition of MVP.

And to all those saying Kobe is playing better every year? WRONG. 05-06, his 81 point year was by far his best performing year. When he averaged 40 for a month, that was his best year. Not this year.

LeBron IS MVP.

And treyy_dog, it doesn't matter if Kobe is a better shooter; because what does shooting do? Get you points? Correct? Well LeBron gets more points, and more efficiently, as he has better FG% than Kobe. It's just like style, doesn't matter if its ugly as long as you get it done. Doesn't matter HOW LeBron scores; if its a dunk every basket idc; as long as he scores.

right on fuloser....   everyone here keeps talking about whos the better shooter.  who makes the clutch shot.  its called the MVP (most valuable player)  not best shooting player... best defensive player.... etc....  its a matter of who means more to there team.  it also, doesnt mean who has won more games.  if you remove these players we all are talking about....  kobe, bronbron, kg, cp3, etc....  where would their teams be?  cavs and hornets wouldnt even be talked about this year when you take them off of their teams.  so now you have to go to stats based on that and lebron wins hands down.  plus...  i think some of us could make an agruement for brandon roy as mvp.  no one expected them to be doing what they are doing.  and you know roy is the reason behind that.   

my only issue is that i have always felt that if your mvp, your teams should go far in the playoffs.  dont know why i feel this way cuz it takes more than one player to win games.

lets see... cavs go 0-8 i think without lbj losing by double digits each time, so thats a perfect example of value... u think if kobe goes down pau, odom, fisher, and the others acnt win a single game? lbj is more valuable to his team than kobe.
 
and oh yea, lbj is also the best PLAYER in the league not just most valuable

Stats are important  but you can't solely judge a player just by his stats. Tim Duncan, when it's all said and done, will be one of the best player ever. But his stats will never be eye-popping.

Lebron might have better numbers but he doesn't command the kind of attention that Kobe does. Gasol/Bynum are shooting very high percentage NOT because they're great shooters but because so much attention is drawn to Kobe, allowing other player to thrive. Bynum has little (so far) one--on--one moves, all of his points are on easy put back. Ditto for Gasol. Kobe, on the other hand, is constantly double team.

These same laker lovers were calling Kobe MVP when he was one of the last seeds in 05-06 and now they bashing LeBron for not having as many wins as Kobe.

Wrong; Gasol spreads out the floor more than Kobe. Any great big man will draw more attention than a 6'6 Shooting Guard. And that's what Gasol is, a great big man.

Bynum has great low post moves what are you talking about? It's not even like Gasol and Bynum are shooting; they score most of their points in the paint.

Duncan is not one of the greatest ever...his stats though are great.

here are the facts by RECORD

Lakers are the 4th best team in the league

Cavs are the 13th best team in the league

don't give me this bullshit about Kobe having Gasol

Steve Nash 2 time MVP had Marion and Stoudamire (he had 2 allstars on his team)

face the damn facts, if Kobe opt out to have surgery this year, Lakers miss the playoffs

CAVALIERS are the 10th SEED IN THE WEST

You honestly don't think Duncan is one of the greatest ever? You have to be out of your mind. His stats are not great, he's averaging 21 and 11 for his career. Look at Malone/Barkely stats. A fair number of power forwards have better numbers than Duncan, but you would be crazy not to put Duncan ahead of all of them.

I watch all Lakers game and Bynum has limited post moves. The guy has RAW talent and will be a beast but he's not the complete package.. YET. For pete sake, he was averagein 13 pt and 11 rbound before he was hurt. Decent production but not "great" production.

Gasol a "Great big man".. I am not going to even respond to that. I love Gasol but calling him "great" is stretching it.

Subpar? Haha, jose calderon is one of the most efficient point guards in the last 10 years. They have a decent team and Bosh isn't doing ANYTHING near what Bosh is doing. That might be the dumbest argument I ever heard.

And this is why Nash didn't deserve MVP. Without marion the team is garbage.

Until the trade, Gasol hasn't done anything worth talking about since his rookie yr.  Lamar will always be Lamar.....plain.  We've been waiting for years for Lamar to finally have a breakout season and not have spurts of promise like his playoff performance when he was w/ the Heat.  Bynum wasn't even a starter at the start of the season until Brown got injured.  His game and confidence started to materialize only about a month before his injury but even before the season nobody knew what he would contribute.  Walton is just useless since he signed his extension.  Just no consistency.

Kobe is the MVP because he makes this team better.  The young players admire his work ethic and his desire to win hence the emergence of Tauriaf, Vuacic and Farmar.  Kobe called out Bynum in the off-season and we know how he responded.  This season I see him communicating more w/ teammates on the court and they are responding.  Kobe has finally become the leader of this team.  Something he has always wanted. 

Kobe brings it every game.  He is the complete player both offensively and defensively.  I love the fact he can burn you on offense and then shut down the opposing teams' best player.

Thats where LeBron needs to improve.  The last time they played each other Kobe stuck LeBron and Snow got abused by Kobe.
