Nikon, I have a question for you. Now to start off I never claimed Lebron is better then Jordan, however I do think they are just plain both great in different ways. I don't anyone has ever done more on the court for one team then Lebron, I will say that. He can play 5 different positions, passes the ball a ton, rebounds better then centers in the NBA, can steal, block and nobody outside of Big O Oscar Robertson or maybe Magic Johnson, has triple-doubles like Lebron. My question is this though, People always make the claim that the Eastern Conference sucks and that's why Lebron always makes the Finals...but consider this, consider if Lebron did actually play in the West...If he did, obviously it would be for a semi-elite to elite type of team. Meaning Thunder, GS, Spurs, Rockets, Grizz, Portland...now if your telling me, if he played for any of those teams...that team wouldn't win the Championship any year? He also has beat a very good Bulls, and Hawks team this year with a scrub team. However if you do actually put Lebron out West on any of those teams, they should easily be able to run through the Playoffs and then easily win the Championship against a weak Eastern Conference. You could make the argument that it is easier for him to get to a Championship in the East but it's deff not as easy to win one because of who he always has to end up playing against in the West.
Another thing about the Jordan/Lebron debate. Jordan was always my favorite player when I was younger, and I was obsessed with him like most kids were at the time. The most amazing player in the clutch of all time. However, I always wondered how Houston with Hakeem, Clyde, younger Horry, Cassell, Mario Elie and Kenny the Jet Smith would have done against Jordans Bulls if Jordan had never retired to play baseball. I always give the edge to the Bulls but I think it would have been his toughest match-up. One thing that people rarely talk about is how Lebron has never had an elite coach since he has been in the NBA which in reality is huge. Say what you want but Jordan didn't win a Championship without Phil Jackson. Lebron has never had anything close to a Phil Jackson. If you think elite coaches don't matter look at who has won the last 30 Championships and who their coaches were. The only real semi-elite coaches to win outside of Spoelstra with Lebron, is maybe Carlisle with Dallas. The rest is all Phil Jackson, Chuck Daly, Greg Poppovich, Pat Riley, Larry Brown, Rudy, Rivers...Consider that Jackson and Poppovich have won 16 of the last 25 Championships and consider if Coaches matter. People always argue that Bird, Jordan, Magic all stayed on their same teams, and would never leave their City. At that time Free Agency was much different and also they never had a reason to leave their city outside of Jordans first couple years. However, Jordan got an elite team 5 to 6 years in to his time with the Bulls, you can't say what he would or wouldn't have done if he didn't get an elite team though. You can't say that because your not him, and that's not what happened to Bird/Magic/Jordan. My point is, Lebron is the first to win a Championship in 30 years with a Coach like Spoelstra, and he did it twice. Bosh/Dwayne were not very elite in their time that Lebron played with them, certainly not Pippen who is a top 50 player of all-time, on offense and defense. Rodman, who yes had zero offense but was the best rebounder of all time and Jackson who is the best Coach of all-time. Jordan is the best ever, however Lebron James does certain things better then Jordan and vice versa. Who cares whos better, Lebron is the best in the NBA right now...they are different players who played in different eras, that's all. Jordan would be killed in the media these days for gambling during the playoffs, punching his own teammates and traveling to games alone of with his own friends. Especially considering that outside of Lebron making one decision to go play in Miami, he has been followed his entire career since he was 15 and when do you ever hear a story of him getting into trouble off the court ever? Nobody gives him credit for that....
