Yes. And yes! Jazz got more for Rudy than the Mavs for Luca. The Warriors would have given up Wiggins, Curry and Kuminga for a decade of Luka! But nobody asked them. 

If the league can make a team give up its cash cow for the next decade for a has-been big man that will be bench player in a couple of years they can certainly fix the outcomes of games.

 Good point on the Jazz and Gobert and overall this has been a good discussion but to call Durant and Ad has been and Ad past his prime does not reflect accurately how they are playing.  Both are rop 10 players and Durant is still elite. AD is having a phenomenal season and yes his injury history is the concern but on a nightly basis he has brought it all year. I personally don't think Luka style as the lead star cant win the big one. Too predictable and a pilon on defense and in the playoffs defense does count. In trades like these there are always behind the scenes things we don't know and clearly the Mavs know more about Luka than we do. I am sure there is more info to come.

Good trade for both teams.  Get Luka out of the Texas BBQ culture of Texas, and into the fat shaming climate of SoCal where skinny people are considered fat.  This guy is a fat fuck, he really needs to take his conditioning seriously.  It’s mind numbing a professional athlete at 25 in a cardio driven sport could balloon up so easily.  We’ll see how the change of scenery is for him.  He’s going to have a face for radio, instead of face of a franchise if he doesn’t put the fork down.

I’ve had the good fortune to be around him and his dad a few times.  He’s a very nice kid.  However, he IS huge.  Loves his food, and alcohol.   At current rate he will be back in Slovenia by the time he’s 30 weighing 300 pounds.   Apple doesn’t fall far from tree.  Pops is 50 and looks 90.  Mavs dropping dead weight for salary cap, Lakers taking a flyer and also dropping dead weight in process.
