I'm traveling today so doing a write up will be tough. I
Might be able to later this afternoon. For now I'll be on the OH system 1h under....and I'll look at the Magic later today. I will say 15.5 points seems like a lot. Didn't think the books would give a number that big.

I've looked over the game a bit, and the only thing I can really tell is that the Magic are really bad on the road. Lots of losses, but most of the blowouts recently were against Western Conference teams.
I'm doing this on my phone so the internet is spotty and it's tough to type. I'm only sticking with the OH system tonight. I can't do the proper research for this game because of my travel, and I very rarely lay double digits in the nba. Even though it looks like a blowout, I would lean Orlando and the points.
I'll be back in town tonight so the write ups should be back to normal.

Right on the wire here at the end of the first quarter. Don't expect the rapid fire scoring like we saw in the first 6-1/2 minutes. I should say the under players are in a good spot here.
I'd rather be playing D&D.

how does the OH system work? I'm newbie. if you dont mind explaining. thanks.
Did you understand how the OH system works tonight? Took the first half under 95.5 for 1 unit, and it missed. Took 2h under 95 for 2 units...it hit...so we made a unit toinght.
It's been unbelievable successful this season. I'll have to go back and see exact numbers, but it's hit in all but 5 or 6 Pacers games this year.

It seems like playing at Atlanta is the ultiamte kryptonite for the Pacers as they always seem to struggle...and now they are off a back to back.
However, last night didn't require a lot of energy. A blowout where the second half was pretty unproductive, so the rest should be pretty good. And it really is coming from everywhere. There isn't a single guy going nuts...it's just really good offense, and solid contributions from everyone. The pace is a little bit above normal, but it really is coming from 3 pts percentage and free throws.
The only 2 really tough opponents they've played recently the Hawks have lost to though (OKC, and SA). However, they only lost by 2 to the Thunder, and got killed by the Spurs. Really this game comes down to who do you believe in more. The Hawks offense, or the Pacers defense.
I believe in the offenses of these 2 teams in the first half. Atlanta's recent games have been high scoring in the first half, and last night the Pacers offense was really clicking early...in the second half it got ugly, but I like the Pacers starting offense to score, and I like the Hawks bench offense to score as well.
Play tonight for me is 1h over 99.
No opinion on the spread. No clue what Pacers team will show up tonight at Atlanta. Pacers are the better team, but man do they struggle there. I think it's safer to stay away, and see what the game looks like at halftime.
The Hawks on the other hand have been on a massive scoring spree recently. Scoring over 109 pts in 6 out of their last 7.

Awful first quarter lead to the first half over demise. Having a hard time figuring out the second half, but it looked like the offenses were getting on track.
I'm going to take a bit on the Hawks over 48.5. They really looked good as the second quarter moved on, and I think their ball movement looked great. They started hitting shots...I think that keeps going.

I love your thread alan and check it every Pacers game. I placed a large bet on Pacers -3 b/c I think it's tme for them to stop alternating win-loss and get on their horse. Last year at this time they really went on a run winning all but 3 games in Feb 2 of those OT losses. I think they win this game handily. BOL look forward to reading more from you.

Paul George is taking a paternity test to see if he's a Dad or not. Andrew Bynum got asked if he's had a workout regimen since the last time he's played six weeks ago. Bynum's response..."Not Really". Lance is out tonight...Granger will get the start.
Interesting stats on tonights matchup.
Pacers D ranks #1 overall in scoring, opponent FG %, defensive efficiency, defensive rebounding, and #2 in opponent 3 pt shooting.
Blazers offense rands #1 in scoring, and offensive efficiency. #2 in 3 pt %, and offensive rebounding. #3 in assists.
The last game these teams played was fantastic. Lillard and George put on a 3 point show in the 4th quarter, and the Blazers got the win. Recently the Blazers have been struggling, especially on the road. They are only 3-4 in their last 7 on the road, and their offense has been sputtering.
Pacers have been absolutely fantastic at home. The defense has really been superb on their home court, and looking back at Portland's recent games, they like putting up monster points against bad defensive teams. However, when they play strong defensive teams, the point totals drop drastically.
Pacers have allowed one team to score over 96 pts in the last 18 games at home.
"Gee, that's an odd number to pick Alan, why did you focus on the number 96?". Glad you asked. That's the Team total the books have for the Blazers tonight.
Lance being out is a big deal for lots of reasons. First, the Pacers lose one of their primary ball handlers. Second, he's the biggest threat the Pacers have to attack the rim aggressively (one of the reasons why he's out tonight, ironically). Third, this gives Granger the chance to show that he's back to being in the groove, and that he's capable of starting. IMHO, I don't think he's all the way back. He's playing good, but not great.
The Blazers have looked amazing at times this year, but then they've struggled at times, and they seem to be in a bit of a struggle right now. Barely beat the Knicks, and lost to the Wizards in the first 2 games of their road trip. I love their talent, but there's just something missing from that team to where I don't put them in the elite of the league. Maybe I get proved wrong by the end of the year, but I don't expect them to represent the West in the finals.
So where am I at right now in my Pacers wagering at this point in the season? I started out really hot, but have cooled off over the last week or so. Still at 60% for the year, but I've not had a great feel for the games the last 2-3. I've learned over the years that it's ok when this happens because it will happen to everybody, but when it does happen this is where bankroll management is key. Lower the betting total, don't do as many bets per game, and just wait to get back on track.
So what I'm going to do for this game is play the OH system, and start off with the 1H under.
VERY IMPORTANT I'm not going to play these bets, but this is a test to see if my feel for the games might be coming back. Here are my leans:
I love the under here. With Lance out, I don't see an increased pace from the Pacers, and we know the defense is going to be playing hard. Points will be at a premium tonight, and I don't see this game getting high scoring. I might also take a bit on the Blazers TT under 96. If I was forced to play a side I would play the Blazers +5.5. I like their talent, and the good West teams have played well against the Pacers. I think it's a close game.
That's about it for now...Let's get it tonight!!!
