All you have to do is ask yourself this question...
 
Would the lakers be a playoff team without Kobe?   Yes
 
Would the Cavs be a playoff team without Lebron?  Hell no
 
There is your answer!  Lebron James makes a way bigger difference than Kobe.  Lebron for MVP!

once again, until lebron can shoot better than kobe from the outside, kobe gets the clear edge. and well, he's not even close to kobes shooting ablities. Also if i could choose one player to build a team around right now it wouldn't be lebron, building your team around a talented big man or PG is smarter than building it around a SF. with duncan aging and yao being fragile as hell i leave it to howard as that dominant big man. i don't know if he'd be the guy i'd choose to build my franchise around tho. like i stated earlier, if i could build around any one player in the nba as a team gm now, it would be Chris Paul. the guy is clearly the best PG in the league, he gives it his all every game, he's tough as nails, hes the best passer in the league, a good midrange jumper, and really developing his 3 pt. shot. such quick hands on defense he will be on top the leader board in steals the next 8+ years. also a PG that can slash the lane, shoot, and pass definately makes everyone around him much better.

So let me get this straight. I'd want Ray Allen taking a shot for me over Shaq, does that make him better?

As for the people talking about LeBron's shooting. It doesn't matter. What matters is his FG% and how many points he has. He doesn't have to shoot if he gets his own shots

Let me break it down for you slow people.

Player A: 28 ppg 45% shooting
Player B: 30 ppg 50% shooting

Who's offensive efficiency is better?

Player B is LeBron and there you go.

You seem to forget LeBron is the most efficient player in the league right now. He's at 80% ft too.

And to all you people who think Kobe is some God, they got blown out by 39 in an elimination game against Boston. LeBron had 48 and barely lost. See the difference? Kobe is great, LeBron is better.

you can argue that lebron is better because he has more ppg, but bryant will give up a tough look in the paint for the open shooter 90% of the time, lebron wont.

there is no debate here, not because there is a clear cut winner, but because theres no way you can definate a better between them. by stats alone you can argue howard or paul or the best, they both share the #1 spot in 2 of the top 6 most significant stats in the nba, blocks, rebounds, assists, steals. i'll let you figure out whose on top where. also CP for a guard scoring 20 pts a game to shoot almost 52% is phenominal

again, if you watched all 8 games of the Olympics (when the playing field was leveled), there shouldn't be any confusion in this debate... Kobe wasn't even the 2nd best player on the team... Wade was more dominant coming off the bench... and Lebron was the most dominant DEFENSIVE force in the Olympics throughout... while Kobe (the guy who supposedly has this magical jumpshot) couldn't hit the ocean from a cruise liner... he was one-dimensional, and at times was a liability... the guy is a product of media hype... he's a great player, but definitely not the best... and i mean DEFINITELY not the best...

no shit lebron has a better efficiency, he shoots 70% from the paint and 28percent outside of it.......and some of you think that makes him a better all around player........
 
this is really not even an even question......kobe has weapons in his arsenal that lebron thinks and dreams about.....lebron hopes to have those weapons in his arsenal in the future. i wont be posting here again, some of you have lebrons dick so far in your throat its not even funny.

ice4blood has to be the biggest idiot that i know. lebron is not even close to good as kobe. kobe can shoot. lebron cant. kobe can play defense way better than lebron. If lebron wasnt built like the incredible hulk then he would be an average player in the nba at best. there is no comparison between the two. kobe has proven himself, lebron has not.

LeBron shoots 38% on JUMPSHOTS ALONE, while Kobe shoots 42%. Big difference huh?

Again, you'd be an idiot not to take the player WHO SCORES MORE POINTS AT A HIGHER %. I don't care how he gets it. Does that mean you'd take Ray Allen over a player like Tim Duncan? You really should stop posting in here because you're embarrassing yourself.

Just to let you know, what makes him a better all around player this season, AND LAST, is the fact that he scores more, shoots better, passes better, rebounds better, and has better defense this season.
