Dudes like 24hrFitness (what a dorky username) are coming at you because they're jealous. Jealous that you have a respectable record while they lose constantly. Jealous that you get a lot of people engaging with your threads.
And, I've heard guys with this, 'Oh, look how much you wrote and lost,' crap before. Clearly, these are the kids who were put into the slow classes because they couldn't spell cat even if you spotted them the C and the T, and are jealous to see a man who can string more than two sentences together.
It's not like it's hard to get 2 games wrong in a row. It shows the difference between clever long haul cappers and moronic Joe Public types that they somehow think these games matter so much more than other ones. It only does if you increased your units.
Nearly every year I went 1-1 on conf champ weekend. I felt very strongly the home teams would sweep this year and it still almost went bad with the Chiefs blowing chances to put the game away. I very nearly took Cinci, but I realized I was overreacting to the last game, which was the same thing I did the week before when they looked bad vs Baltimore.
They were my two biggest plays of the season and I will probably skip the SB altogether now except for a few props, but I'll be interested to see who Van picks. I'm leaning Eagles - clearly the best overall team with the best balance and defense, but the Chiefs have the MJ of football. Should be a cracking game.

I saw you took a little grief yesterday. I wish I could say I was surprised, but you have broad shoulders and I know you can handle it.
I love the fact that even when outcomes do not comport with your analysis, you're still right. First, you warned that there was NOT a lot of value or edge in either of these games. You said players should not put too much bankroll on either. Correct. You also predicted earlier in your wonderfully epic year that once you lost a couple in a row, the know-it-all haters would show up. Correct again.
I've been playing for a very long time. I saw things yesterday that I've never seen before. Certainly, they were not the kind of things anyone could anticipate or factor into fashioning a solid, fact-based prediction. Okay, a couple of losses spread over dozens of selections. It happens. I don't post my bets, largely because I'm too streaky and I'm not as thorough as I'd like to find the time to be, which is why I play"different colored chips." I once lost 17 straight games; then I went 22-3. It can happen.
The fact remains, you are the best there is, and people should understand and appreciate your pure generosity in sharing. I know I do, and I am sincerely grateful for your wisdom, hard work and insights and I believe I speak for 99% of Covers readers. Thank you.

Thanks to all that support what Covers is supposed to be - a place to share sports betting ideas and banter.
For those who try to tear covers down by attacking.... It is just an exposure of yourself. Has nothing to do with me or anyone else you are angry with, it has to do with something missing in you and by posting you are just raising your arm and saying that you have issues.
I have been here something like 25 years. Crazy to think. When I see a date next to a poster that is more than a decade old - there is a certain amount of respect shown because we remember what covers was back then vs what it has turned in to now. We all respect each other. I know they have earned their stripes - they have lasted - they are not a hit and run gambler. It is the newer dates - the guys who come and go - because eventually they lose and cant stick around - that cause the problems.
I get the deal. It is what you sign up for when you willingly post here. I think of posts here like art... If someone puts time in to any post - and it is well thought out and has meaning - then it is worthwhile even if you dont agree with it. There is plenty to learn here.
It is almost laughable that these haters just lie in wait until the first bad run to attack. But that is on them. They have no art to share - they have no meaning - and they know it but crave the traffic and attention that those get who have something useful to share - so they lash out like a 10 year old who cant go on Space Mountain.
I'm here. Not going anywhere until I am six feet under.
I had a blast this season. I had a blast last season, and I will have a blast next season. I wish the same for all of you also.
Support your local animal shelter. I am on twitter.

You are good at what you do, I don't know why criticism affects you so much, 49ers and Bengals were the right bets that were affected by intangibles that you cannot predict (injuries and corrupt or inept refereeing).
Good luck next season

The big play to this game was not challenging the catch that wasn't a catch Iknow it was early in the game but when Smith was doing after his catch was suspect the play would've been overturned and Purdy would still be in the game but it is what it is stripes we're definitely favorable to Eagles yesterday

Would hate for you to put thought into your bets… guess the new way is fade, flip a coin, and conspiracies. Enjoy your posts whether I’m betting the same or other way. Yes covers used to be a lot better with some morons sprinkled in. Best of luck in Super Bowl and my countdown begins for the next college season!

It is OK to say anything you like before a game is played. It is meaningless to try justifying your lost. Leverage opposite opinion from other posters instead of attacking them. Enjoy your win. Accept your lost. Move on. If you do not have this mindset, quit gambling.
"Accept your lost".
Really it's understanding 95% of the work in this business is done before the best is made and not the bet is laid, it's 100% out of your control and little can be achieved by watching / whining / sweating.
The remaining 5% is done after the bet in analysis. If you lost was there anything in your process you missed? Inj, line movement (if you subscribe), etc. If you won, could you have done different?
So instead of accepting a loss, or in this case pointing fingers and laughing, Van has always encouraged a healthy discussion into the play and why. But too many egos can't handle that healthy discussion, or losing, and it gets ugly.
