Not that your desperate. That Pitt will win bc they are desperate. Just like everyone said falcons will cover easily bc it was a desperation win for them.

I like this game for very specific reasons, for which I have already referenced in this thread. This isn't some impulsive dart I'm throwing. You have the gall to tell me to do my own research? That research has been done and with rigor. If you don't like the selection or my rhetoric, that's fine. I've profited consistently over the years here by adhering to my own research and not becoming shortsighted by the mindless dribble that can often be found at this place. This pick qualifies as a max play for me based on my research and numbers. Play the jets if you like. I'm quite confident you'll be a loser on Sunday if you do.

All you have stated on this thread is that you like the steelers a lot in this particular situation and the Jets dont have a good defense, which is wrong. You've also given a couple handshakes to people who have said this is a must win desperation win for the steelers, which really doesn't exist. And this is a little different to compare to GB, bc GB is a great team (steelers are not) and they played the lions without their 2 best WR. BOL to you, I just try to look into more than "desperation must win games" or situational games for a max bet. Yes, I was obviously on Jets last night, but I have not decided this week yet. To early to tell.

With the line being 3 before the Jets won, and now its a pick I think you have to go with Pitt.  The big primetime games are major over reaction games for the public.  Everyone saw the Jets last night get a big win IN Atlanta.  I will give more of the reasoning for this to the Falcons defense being THAT bad than the Jets played THAT good.  Dont get me wrong, Geno played great.  But before the game people on here didn't have the Jets scoring more than 10-14 points last night.  Now that they put up 30, they think they are this great offensive team and don't think for a second that the Falcons defense is about as bad as it gets.  Some guy I saw said Pitt will be a major public play...I dont believe that for a second.  Not after what the Jets did last night.

Steelers are a strong play for all the reasons mentioned.  Would have liked to have seen them stay a short favorite for this game.  Road favorites off a bye hit roughly 70%+ clip.  I was eyeing Steelers as a play when vegas had them -3 before the game last night.  I still think they are a strong play here this week.

If I were to buy low and sell high I would be buying the Steelers low and selling the Jets high.

As a general rule in Jets games... you always BET ON the Jets when they look unbettable, and you always BET AGAINST the Jets when they are looking like a real football team...

I was on the jets last night because i knew the falcons defense was horrible and crossed my fingers geno wouldnt play as terrible against the titans. He didnt and i won. However, i think geno smith is not a good qb by any means and the steelers have a defense that could give this young, inexperienced qb some trouble. Jets Defense is going to be top 5 this season, they let up so many points to the titans because geno smith was a turnover machine, you need to account for that. Personally i like the under this game with the Jets-Steelers being a coin flip.

Eddie - the giants didn't have 2 weeks to prepare for the Eagles. I'll post the numbers when I am home, but some people have a tough time comprehending. The angle is winless teams off a bye week. I've read various teams and situations mentioned in this thread that really are irrelevant to the specific situation. This place, somehow, continues to baffle me.

Yeah, Philip Rivers destroyed the raiders because he had been on such a hot string. Those things just don't end...err...I mean...geno smith looked great 2 weeks ago...err....I mean...Pittsburgh sucks!!!!

Man there are some horrible analysis ans statements in this thread.

There are so many better plays than this one... some of you are probably the ones who have bet on the Jags over the last few weeks.

Unreal... One rule of thumb... 'never try to catch a falling sword' ...which the Steelers are... 

again so many better plays out there....but GL PITT backers...I'm a fan and hope they win but one cannot bet on this team... esp. if they are favored...that's ludacris

Its not that im on the jets nuts or anything its just cant back a crap pitt team. Jets rush d will give ben huge problems. Pit has no run game. So everyone should jump on pitt cuz theyre coming off a bye?? Thats a joke. They looked terrible all year and now everyone should bet them On the road vs a team with a good defense? Just because the jets give up over 20pts doesnt make them a crap defense.
