Chiefs/Colts Thoughts

Colts have impressed me with the way their young defense has been able to get after it. But that stops this weekend IMO. They are going up against an absolute offensive juggernaut and KC will not be one and done this year.

You can say the same about the resume of teams that KC has beaten.  the caliber of competition is the same KC > Oakl twice /Denver twice/ SanFran / Arizona / Cinn / Jags.. The most important part is KC's last 4 home games ie Oak / LAC /Balty/ Arizona / not a murderers  row of the elite. Arizona gave them a fight with a trash rookie QB and Balty also with High school QB Lemar ..the one team that went in there with a quality QB and defense during the 4 game series was LAC...Lucks been around and can throw the rock..and Mack can run it..lets see what he can do vs one of the worst run Defense in the NFL....yes thats right KC...with their 5.0 run defense and their shoddy PA defense.

Wizer, your hate for Chiefs is clouding your vision super, super hard.  It has already been proven.  Indy had the easiest schedule and KC had the toughest amongst the remaining playoff teams.

 

Not only has Indy had the easiest schedule of all teams this season but the level of defenses Andrew Luck faced were the easiest within the LAST 3 SEASONS!

Meanwhile, if you haven't been paying attention the Chiefs you wouldn't realize that the Chiefs have been coasting a large portion of the back half of the season.  Once Hunt got released and Watkins was out, the team started dialing it back on both side.  Now they are going to go full throttle.  Colts won't score more than 24.  Book it.  Chiefs won't score less than 31.

 

I sound cocky because I've done my homework on this matchup.  For the Chiefs, it was all season long.  For the Colts it was last few weeks.

 

I will come back here tomorrow and I will make sure not to gloat too hard.  Promise.  

For the Chiefs it was all season long...for the Indy it was the last few weeks. Its what have you done for me lately in the NFL. Recent form. Throw your overall tough schedule for KC out the window. That don't mean Jack in relation to this game. That tough schedule was played on the road. ie Seattle / LA.Rams / / New England..they lost those games. You're at home now toto .Here's the tough schedule KC has played at home Oak / LAC/ Balt / Arizona /Denver..lol / Bengals ?/ San Fran ?..lol..real tough home schedule there. One Good QB in that bunch ( Rivers) . When you learn to separate your home stats from your road stats and compare the caliber of competition in those games and how each team fared ie win margin vs their average opponents power rating...then you've done the real homework on this game. clouded vision ?...beats being blind 

Eaxh teams biggest weakness?

Penalties could play a huge role in this one today. The crew for this game is middle of the pack in regards of penalties thrown but if both teams push the ball down the field, we could see some PI calls that extend drives.

You have to be much more specific to spot the weaknesses. As a whole, Indy is one of the best all around teams there is. 

Indy´s weakness is covering the Tight End. They have no way to stop Kelce. They have been burnt all season, and take into account that their division rivals have some of the weakest tight ends in the NFL. How do you scheme against Kelce? Teams with personnel better suited for that, try week after week and fail. 

On defense, the key for KC is to stop Mack. Dare Luck to win it. But that is no simple quest when you have the worst D against the run. 

Very interesting how the weather could come into play here and here is why I say that: when it’s wet, whether there is rain or snow, that gives the offense a huge advantage. The offense knowing the plays and the defense somewhat having to react....it puts a lot of strain on a defense with footing issues. We could see some points surprisingly in that both teams now may just want to attack in the passing game. If Indy abandons the run game, I think they are crazy because I truly feel that is their ticket to WINNING this game. Both teams will have the itch to go through the air with these two strong arm qbs, but the run game is gonna be the key. HUUUUGE advantage for the Colts but do they stay disciplined in trying to be somewhat balanced? We’ll see. Also I had stated in here special teams WILL play a mammoth role in this one. Vinny has kicked some huge field goals in this type weather before so if it comes down to it, you’d have to lean his way with the game on the line. I thought this game would be the most intriguing game all weekend but now with this weather continuing on, it’s gonna be a chess match and a fun one. The total has dipped 3 points now and I would t be surprised if we still go over there. First instinct here when people see the snow will be to take the under but these two qbs and these two play callers could be stubborn in pushing that ball. Can’t wait! 

When it comes to footing in football with rain/snow issues...there's a saying I heard a long time ago that I will never forget.
