You do realize that the NFL makes the same no matter who plays ,you realize the advertisers already have there spots bought and paid for and the teams playing only effects a 1 or 2 % change in viewership of the casual fan.
So MTF,your saying that if that call is made, and marked off, like it should of been, and Detroit then starts off with a 1st down,That the score of the game and winner of game, from the final outcome we have now, wouldnt be different.Im sick of hearing about, that the play didn't completely change the game ,that if only the coach would of went for it on 4th and 1,about if the punter didn't punt it only 10 yards,as to the reasons being, why Detroit lost.
.Those plays would of never happened if the PI was enforced ,like it should of been, there would of been no 4th and 1,it would of been a 1st down, there would of been no 10 yard punt, due to it being a 1st down.
That be like saying if the penalty against Detroit on dallas's last scoring drive, were the lb held the running back coming out off the backfield, wasn't called, and didn't get them the 1st down. That then the game would of ended the same way.If you can stop a drive from producing points,by stopping the teams drive,by calling or not calling penalties, then you have affected the outcome of the game. All it takes is 1 bad call,or 1 call that is actually called a penalty, but then not enforced,to stop a drive, and change the outcome of the game, and that's exactly why people are pissed.
If the PI flag was never thrown, then it would be that either the ref didn't think it was PI,or that he didn't see the play and just missed the call.Thats a judgement call, and the game would of went on from there.I have no problem with that,it happens all the time. But when he throws the flag, right there he thinks it was PI,then it should be marked off,and the game goes on from there. But it does change the outcome of the game,And if you wanna argue that it didn't affect the end result ,or Detroit should of overcome it,and still found a way to win the game, thats a whole different story, but that play still affected the outcome. You cant argue that fact.
