Yes the headline is annoying and yes this will be the biggest bet of my life... I'm an average 1-2 unit bet kind of guy and this bet will be 10 units
First and foremost this line is OFF, WAY OFF. As many are predicting a NO Saint blowout
Not one for write ups, so I'll just bring up alot of factors that should have the Seahawks covering/winning outright
-Travel, noise, field condiotions... Flying to westcoast(check), one of the toughest places to play(check), 40 degrees with some rain against a team that plays in a dome(check)
-First meeting the Seahawks held there own, they kicked 4 FG's . Had 1 or hell even 2 of those drives resulted in 7 we would be looking at a different game. O, and lets not forget Lynch also lost 2 fumbles as well.
- Saints O vs Hawks D...Saints come into this game as the most beat up teams to enter the playoffs this year. With recent news of Ivory AND Thomas out that leaves JULIUS JONES yes THAT GUY to shoulder the load with Bush coming in on 3rd downs. Hawks were also missing there big DT Chris Cole in the first meeting. Also as well Jimmy Graham is dealing with an ankle injury as well and he to as well might miss the game. Seahawks D has some SOLID names on D they just been playing down, why? I have no idea injuries? 1st year all playing together? I dont know but I expect this unit to play up to there abilities this saturday
Hawks O vs Saints D... Hoping that Hassle plays but if Whitehurst plays its not much of a drop off (Hassle injury) also Charlie can run out of the pocket if need be so thats an updgrade. Hawks should HOPEFULLY be able to move the ball, Jenkins is also questionable coming into the game. It's going to be ALOT of dumps, screens, play actions and when need it to be the occasional shot deep. I'll take my chances with the Hawks O vs Saints D in this weather condition.
SPECIAL TEAMS.. Hawks have one of the best punters and return man in the game, Leon Washington is a threat to take it to the house ANYTIME he touches the ball, same can be said about Reggie as well but he also has his fair share of dropsies. This could be an even more big factor with poor conditions. Mare has been consistent all year as well and Hartley was hit and miss this year.
My prediction.. 24-20 Seahawks. Drew Brees gets the ball at the 30 with about 2mins, drives down the field but eventually gets picked off by the Rook Earl Thomas.
I feel like I'm missing something and if I'am I'll add to it later
Seahawks +10.5 for 10 units Seahawks +450 for 1 unit
Also have a feeling this line will go down to about 9.5 or 10
Good Luck all, bash or comment as you may
