San Diego +7 is going to be a very large play for me, and will sprinkle some on the money line, I lean sf philly

I finished in the money in the Super Contest and those who won have to go to the LVH and we have to go in person to claim our winnings.   Of course they need our SSN and we will get a W-2G for tax purposes.  I was on the phone with a rep in the sportsbook last night.

I'm headed there this weekend to collect and laydown some steam on the NFL playoffs and bowl games.

Looking at the results statistically, they are actually a little worse than what you'd expect if 1000 people flip a coin 85 times.


55 or over:  expected 5, actual 3
50 to 54.5:  expected 60, actual 53
45 to 49.5:  expected 265, actual  218

I got totally different information on almost every count.

First off - they will mail you a check.  No matter if you finished in first or 30th, they will mail you a check.

Secondly - they will ask you for a W9.  That is a request for a SS#.  This is not a W2-G - and you dont get a W2-G.  

I talked to the manager there and was very specific with my questions - so I would be very surprised if somehow I did not get the right information.

We'll see what happens, but if their asking for a SSN, then some tax form will be issued and it will be a W-2G.   So, I'm sure if they mail the check to you, there will also be a W-2G in there.

I'm going to ask places I visit to save me losing lottery tickets so I can write off any gambling winnings in 2014.

I also like the saints now, I had leaned philly earlier in the week, I will take the team with the veteran coach qb combo rather than the first time coach qb combo. Saints +3 4k

I picked up my winnings from the Super Contest on Saturday.   I will say this, it was sort of unorganized in terms of what was needed to claim the prize.   Much like if 10 people see a car accident, you get 10 different stories. 

I received a 2014 W-2G for my winnings, like I expected.  I went 4-0-1 on NFL games and BCS Championship and I fired up a big play on SF this weekend.

I already got my room comped for when I come out to sign up for the 2014 Super Contest.  Cant wait!

I just realized this but it seems kind of BS that the winner of the contest works for a major professional sports team which is not disclosed in the articles i've read...Wouldn't he be privy to inside information of some kind?  OBviously if he works for an NFL team the answer is yes and that should be taken into account by The Hilton.
