I wanted to start this early to sprinkle my thoughts throughout the week.

Seattle 2-5 against SF last 7; however they put a whooping on the Niners in those 2 wins in Seattle.

If I was a Seattle backer, I'd be really concerned about their offense going into the title game:

Since December 1st (including playoffs) Seattle has averaged:

    • 265.8 YPG
    • 144.2 Passing YPG
    • 16.7 first downs PG

During that same time frame, SF has averaged:

    • 354.6 YPG
    • 226 Passing YPG
    • 20.4 first downs PG

San Francisco is averaging 90 yards per game and 4 more first downs per game. We all know both of these teams can run the ball and have stout run defenses, so passing will be important. Colin Kaepernick since getting a healthy Crabtree back has thrown for 82 YPG more than Wilson in that time.

To be clear, that sample size is 6 games for Seattle and 7 games for SF, including 1 H2H matchup.

Although pretty much shut down a really prolific offense in New Orleans twice in less than a month which is pretty impressive because Drew Brees and the Saints just dont get shut down on offense very often! Again not impressed with the offensive output of Seattle's offense.......but sooner or later they going to erupt......will it be this week? That is the million dollar question because if not niners will cover and win in my opinion!

I can't bet a side in this game, it's impossible.

No way i can bet against the 12th man, and i had 49ers winning the superbowl before the season started.

Maybe i can find a total play, i dunno. Whoever wins this game is the champ this year no doubt.

BigNiner, been a fan of yours since I joined Covers.  Really pulling for SF to take this SuperBowl.  This is going to be a hell of a game.

I honestly don't know which way to go on this game yet, but my gut is screaming Niners.

I do, although, feel that the winner of this NFC championship game is going to be the SuperBowl winner.

I'm a mirror image of this post.  Going to be one hell of a game.

I can't bet a side in this game, it's impossible.

No way i can bet against the 12th man, and i had 49ers winning the superbowl before the season started.

Maybe i can find a total play, i dunno. Whoever wins this game is the champ this year no doubt.

I'm a mirror image of this post.  Going to be one hell of a game.

That is the million dollar question because if not niners will cover and win in my opinion!

This is hilarious!!!! Did we watch the same game?

    Total offense:

    New Orleans 409 yards
    Seattle: 277 Yards

So, you allowed over 400 yards of offense, yet you "shut them down?"

Obviously, my above post is in reference to this past weekend's New Orleans/Seattle playoff game.

Prolific offense..........23-15 final score so yes seattle did a great job of keeping them out of the end zone and won the game but yes as I said it is Drew Brees and very prolific holding them to 22 total points in two games! Big difference between yards given up and the end result! So I will give up those yards and take a win every time! No?

2-5 last 7 is accurate ...... 4-5 last 9 is also accurate ........ 71-16 combined score last 2 in Seattle is also accurate.

If you are going to paint the picture at least paint a complete one.

On another note, glad to see it played out this way with SF and Seattle. This is the way it should be and will be a great game.

Personally I have a 1k Seattle to win NFC from before season started. Will probably middle 1/2 of it at 3.5 and hope to hit both.

Already committed to taking a portion of the winnings and go to game next weekend, should be epic time with 3-4 friends.

How is 2-5 not accurate? Is Seattle NOT 2-5 Head to Head against the 49ers, the last 7 times they have played? How am I being deceptive? Please enlighten me.

Read my first sentence I said 2-5 IS accurate. I just find it interesting that 2-5 last 7 is more relevant that 4-5 last 9. Especially when the 2-5 includes 1 game from a season and no the other game played a month earlier. You are trying to paint this series as if 1 side has dominated over last few years and that just isn't the case. If you go back 5 years this has been a very even series hence the 4-5 last 9 (which was just an example I used to make a point). The reality is the teams these 2 are today the last 2 years is much more relevant than 3/4 or 5 years ago. And this series the last 2 years has been dominated by the home teams.
