The Lions don't rate out as strong as I thought they would.
But if we added in other things that I am considering like for example completion %. I talked about this earlier in the season. How Brady and the Pats did well in this area.
And yards per points margin which Lions number 1 at +4.7 while Ravens way back at +1.3.
1.3 is not good for SB winners.
And pts per plays margin with Lions no. 1 again at .168 but Ravens did move all the way up to no. 3 at .151 not far behind.
These are all things Brady and Pats did very well and kind of deserve some value in the ratings.
Using these and it would be pretty close to dead-even between Ravens and Lions.

Ravens are my no.1 ranked team. Lamar has had an incredible passing year. He does seem much more poised in the pocket.
He has his lowest sack rate which meansvhe is either throwing shorter passe or reading defenses better.
He leads the league in ave per pass at a very high level . And his yards per catch is high so he is not throwing shorter passes unless his receivers have a high yac.
If this is the case it then speaks for coaching schemes and quality receivers.
Either way this just might be Lamar's year.
Now here's the deal ..........
Are we going to the well on Lamar again only to be dubbed by him ? Ouch that would surely sting pretty bad............
Keep in mind P Manning had 3 straight playoff 1 and dones before winning a playoff game.
Great in the regular season but a flop in playoffs.
Took him 8 years to win SB. He was 3-6 in playoffs going into that playoff year.
Lamar in his 7th season and 2-4 in playoffs, almost identical.
PManning needed to over-come the Goat Brady and he did in AFC Title game coning back down 21-0 at the half.
Lamar needs to over-come the Goat Mahomes.
Both Brady that year and Mahomes this year did not, do not possesses the common denominator of SB Champs established by Brady not the ave SB winning team mind you.
Brady and Pats have not won a SB playing as poorly as this KC team.
Brady did not win SB's every year nor did he make SB's every year.

They don't fit my BF regression or my new BF II regression which they were close before final game.
But they do fit a regression method I like and found online of winning 4 straight and scoring 30 or more in each game. And the won ATS in all 4 which wasn't included but I think that could make it better.
They did beat this method 2 weeks in a row while scoring 30 or more in both before finally losing to Rams.
Beating it once I'd doubt they could do that again.
But the thing is regression does not work as well in the playoffs, some teams beat it and continue to beat it but it works but not as well as in regular season.
And I don't know if that method works in playoffs.
I would lean Steelers but not sure I'd make a play.
Ravens need to regress in my view, if they do they need to hang on and not lose SU which happen in 2019 when they came in with regression.
With a big humber there is plenty of room to not cover but win SU.

The only team that can beat the Ravens are themselves. The two main usual worries going into the playoffs
Penalties - Ravens are one of the worst teams regarding that this season. I've seen my share of bogus calls and Ravens have had a couple handful of them. The refs have been on one against the Ravens. Anyway, the team will just need to adapt to it and not let it knock them out of their game. Poise has been a problem in the past. Which leads to..
Coaching - Harbaugh and staff has done some stupid things with game plan and decision making in past playoffs. Needs to play to teams strength and not abandon what has worked for them all season.
Sip on that plus money honey!

They also got too overhyped being at home and forgot they were facing the defending champs. thought they had everything on their side. They made it too much of a spectacle bringing all those Raven legends on the field..
@undermysac
Yea that too. Don't think that I didn't think of this as well lol. Thought my Billy Cundiff nightmares were over. had a dream or nightmare that Tucker missed the game winning kick in the Super Bowl.
But seems like he has righted the ship a bit since the bye week. Hope it doesn't creep back at the most inopportune time *fingers crossed*

Be careful if it is the Chargers they face.... 4th straight road game in playoffs (Division or Conference Title game) after winning 3 roadies in a row is recipe for disaster

@theclaw Ravens also have the 12 year / 28 year old QB factor in their favor. That is, Ravens win Superbowl in 12 year spans with a 28 y/o QB. 2000 - Dilfer 2012 - Flacco 2024 - Lamar ??? Probably means nothing but found somewhat interesting.
Very cool info................

Yes I forgot to mention that. Ravens way to many penalties and yards.
Lions have fewer penalties then opps but not by much. But more yards them opps by maybe 120 on the year. Not alot.
But looking up past SB Winners I don't see that it matters. No real correlation.
Teams good enough to win SB's can over-come those maybe why Lamar has a big yards per pass attempt and yards per completion. He needed to over-come those penalties and he did.
