Hey Van, While I hardly ever post here, I’ve been a longtime fan of both your NFL and World Cup posts. You and I undoubtedly share some similarities in our approaches (e.g., in the NFL we’re both rooted in contrarian thinking, we trust a methodology that’s been successful for a long time, so we don’t get worked up over the volatility of results in the short term, etc.) — and I know this because we end up agreeing on sides far more often than we disagree. I, too, just had my first really crappy week of the NFL season, so I wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciate all that you share on Covers. Your posts are a great touchpoint for me after I do my analysis each week. What a great NFL season you’re having overall, and I can’t wait to see your write-ups for the World Cup in the coming days! You’re a real treasure to more folks than you probably realize, because I’m sure there must be other lurkers like me who don’t care to post much, but who can spot a source of rare quality when we see it. Keep doing exactly what you do, my man. —TBB
I really appreciate this. There are definitely days when my wife says to me "why do you post if it makes you so stressed", and my only answer is that it helps some people, and I have a character flaw where I like to help people when I have knowledge on something. I have never made a dime posting, and never will. But there is pressure knowing that some use what I post in a desperate way - and even one bad week affects their lives. I dont like that.
But I do it for those like yourself who maybe gain something out of me posting - and also because most of the time I enjoy it.
Thanks again.

It happens. People think u are gonna cash every week. Of course that's the plan but if you're realistic you know that's not gonna happen. Kind of disgusting that people get joy out of someone having a bad week or a bad day. Its true tho people love to see someone down as it makes them feel better about themselves . It happens to me all the time I win big and I buy everyone drinks and life's good. I have a rough day and the same fuck boys I was buying drinks for wanna talk shit saying 1 800 bets off lol. That's society these days
So true...

"But you have to learn how to lose and not get off track." Most astute comment I've heard on a gambling forum. Learning how to lose taught me how to be a winning poker player. That's how to turn losses into profit in the long run. Variance happens. It's up and down because it is what it is...variance. Variance varies, but the process of play doesn't. RT2
I think this is one of the 10 commandments of gambling. Learn how to lose so that it doesn't affect your next bet (or hand in poker). Avoid going on tilt. Have a process to rely on so you dont go on tilt.
