If you believe it's rigged... Here's your chance to call your shot. We have only 2 weeks left in the regular season... How does the NFL fairy tale play out and why? For the record, I don't believe it's rigged. I think regardless of the outcome, certain people will attach a narrative and claim it's fixed.

Very rare occasions anyone can be on point with future bets on a consistent level. I believed games are rigged to the tee.
1. Games are played out to keep you, the gamblers watching to the final minutes (mist games, esp bball). It's the rush of going back and fourth that keeps mist addicted. Think, how are oddsmakers so precise in coming up with the lines.
2. A team that can't move the ball all game long. Suddenly drives down the field effortlessly within the 2 min warning. Why couldn't they do that throughout the game?
3. Approx 15 years ago, MNF, when Lisa Guerrero was the sideline reporter. Whichever team color outfit she wore, that team lost. This went on for 2-3 years. Coincidence or subliminal messaging. Looking into this before criticizing my statement. I made a lot of money going by this system alone.
4. I can go on and on...

There has always been a rigged contingent on this site, but lately they've been getting more and more numerous. The idea that the rigging of games could successfully be covered up -- by players, and coaches, and refs, etc. -- is appealing only to mental midgets who can't face the facts when they make a bad bet.

It is only rigged situationally. Not nearly every game. Just when it best fits the business model.
Can you elaborate please. In your experience, are you able to spot these situations beforehand and profit or are they just more apparent after the fact? Fascinating stuff

1. Ya that Colts/Viking game this weekend was a real nail-biter. Have you ever considered parity in the NFL and Bball via the draft and Free Agency as a more plausible answer to this phenomenon?
2. Its called Prevent Defense. It happens in nearly every two score game and is meant to keep the clock going.
3. Sure.

Supereagle you are bang on. This is sports entertainment. And it is huge business. This is one of the greatest shows on earth and the powers that be aren't leaving things to chance. They want to sell it. Really not hard to fix a game. Holding call at a crucial moment in a game and that's it. I knew it was rigged before I started gambling so I don't cry when I lose....lol..

Re #1. It's actually fairly easy to make ratings and betting lines for the NFL if you follow it, use the available metrics and have half a brain.
Also, obviously oddsmakers would love it if all games fell far away from the spreads and total (think teasers).

You can never really know because it is so subtle and there are always different ways that things can go. If you are really dialed in you can narrow storylines down. An example for me was last year. I had it narrowed down to 2 stories before the playoffs that I felt certain of. Either Peyton was going out on top because of is model career or Cam was going to get the torched passed to him during the height of racial tensions. I rode that to huge playoff payoff. When I saw the Super Bowl spread come out and it was so low vs the way Carolina had pounded everyone to get there was the point where I thought, in my mind, that I became certain that it was going to be Peyton's night. So I loaded up on the Denver ML. That was the most clear that it has ever been for me.
I had a friend that did the same thing in Ray Lewis' last season, but I never bought in to that one and he ended up being right.

I read how everyone in Mexico City was all about the Raiders coming to town. Very pro Raider. I know the NFL loves to make people love it's product, especially outside of the USA where they will expand one day. I played the Raiders because I thought they were just the better team, but it turned out that they really got whipped all game long. Anyone watching couldn't help but notice that the officials were in no way, shape, form, or fashion going to let the Raiders lose that game though. Since I am geared to think this way I put it together very early in the game what was happening and was still amazed at the obvious screw job that unfolded. I was just thankful I was on the right side that night.

I heard back in 72' the NFL wanted the Steelers to win the superbowl,so they worked all season behind closed doors to practice the immaculate reception. Bradshaw that dirty rascal didn't disappoint.

^ Nailed it. Rigging comes in many forms. 2nd half, 4th quarter or last drive comebacks. Most often they come in penalties, but the rarest and if your keen on the "motivating storylines" that turn into outcomes ... predicting outcomes is very doable. There are a few story lines that fit the Panthers' last year storyline. Everyone road hard all the way thru the Super Bowl on panthers, after all they were the HOT team coming in. The reference to previous year with Ray Lewis. Im a born and raised San Francisco Native, so when the 49ers made it to the SB and i was old enough to pay my own way, we made the trip to NOLA. As a fan, you have no idea how painful that was to sit thru those 4 attempts at the goal line. Again, 49ers the young hot team with the fast QB, it was hard not to take the 49ers if you missed the storyline leading up to the "big retirement party" as i like to cal it.
Another example: The OVER last in last night's bowl game with WK/Mem ... high scoring game thru 3 quarter but you can see the slow down in the offense. with 3 minutes left, anyone who bet the UNDER believed they had a real shot. WK moved the ball into the red zone, finally at 4 and 3 on the 15 or what it was and a DELAY OF GAME ON THE DEFENSE .. yes the DEFENSE !!! wtf is that, how is that even possible, well, the next play, they run it in for the TD ... 82 total. o/u was 79-80.5.

In the course over a 10 year timespan I have gambled over $100,000. This included NFL, NBA, elections, and Texas Holdem. Also Iwould like to note I have a very bad gambling addiction that led me to being extremely depressed for 5 of those years as I thought that killing myself was a better choice than living. I do not feel this way anymore and stopped feeling this way about two years ago and even stopped gambling for a whole year.
with my experience with gambling I can honestly tell you that the NFL i not rigged. I need to note that being a ref is not easy. its a million times different watching it on tv then being a ref in the middle of it with 100,000 people in stadium screaming, all blood pumping. you dont see everything. and refs are humans not robots. everyone makes mistakes.
Major thing i want to say. Any Sunday is any given sunday. anything can happen. The shittiest team in the league could go out and beat the greatest team in the league at any given sunday. you never know when that is gonna happen. its any given sunday
when you gamble only gamble with money that you would not killyourself over if you lost. do not gamble money that if you lost you could not support and feed and put a roof over you wife and childrens heads.
Any given sunday you could have won money if you would have bet on the teams that you did not play
and you could loose money on the teams if you would have played.
any given sunday

NFL is rigged...Colts make the playoffs cause the league wants their golden boy Andrew Luck to win the superbowl this year.
According to the script this weekend...
Colts beat Oakland
Jacksonville beats Tennessee
Cincy beats Houston.
Colts? Come on now... I'd give you 10-1 they even make the playoffs and 400-1 to win the super bowl. Those would be 2 of the best bets I've ever made in my life. The real chances are more than twice that. We'll see how this plays out...
