Both defenses are hugely underrated right now. The Pats held Tyreek and Travis both to WAY under their season averages. If they can contain the run game (less likely), then the Patriots should win for sure. I'm all over the Under this game. I just think Belichick will have defensive matchups and plenty of disguises for Goff that he won't be able to read the defense, much like the Bears showed they can do. Belichick was a DC first before becoming HC. There's plenty of public rooting for the Patriots to lose, trying to separate the sharps and the public probably is too tough to do. I'm with you the Rams Run D has stepped up in a huge way, and should limit the scoring for the Patriots, as well as that 3rd down conversion rate they racked up on the Chiefs.
This is a good point. But I’d like to add additional layers.
Also, the Pats O-Line has not given up a sack in the playoffs. That can’t continue.
So the message is clear:
Give Brady a clean pocket and you’ll lose.
The same marching orders were given to the Rams with regard to Brees and they performed. Sacked Brees twice and limited the high powered Saints to under 300 yards.
So with the Rams run D playing at an A+ level and getting an upgrade on the Rams D Line with Donald and Suh and company compared to the Chiefs, I see Brady as having less to work with both in the pocket and with Sony having a tougher go, and that can be the difference the Rams need to get over and bring this one home.

The number one thing I look for in young coaches is being engaged with players and the play on the field. The passive young coach who doesn’t do this is typically overwhelmed (Matt Patrica). The veteran coach who feigns participation is typically worse than advertised (Jason Garrett aka the Clapper).
McVay is so engaged with his Offense he literally hasn’t an assistant just to keep him from entering the play itself. That is, Bill and Sean are not too far away in terms of what they offer so please dismiss such an alleged chasm.

I completely agree here, I see him being a top coach of the NFL in the future. He might even become the very best.

Perhaps, Wade Phillips, SB winning DC, does help Rams on their defense quite a bit here too. Wade's Broncos defeated Patriots in the 2016 AFC title game.

You are a freaking trip dude, I gotta give it to you. As you can see, I fly way under the radar and gather all information I can on this sight and use it as one of several tools to cap games (Been on here 12 years). I'm with ya 100% on this one, but gotta give ya a high five for the enthusiasm you bring to your write ups!!!!!!!!! How can you not love it????!!!!! GL to you all Rams backeers, and thanks for the input. Yes, I am from STL but that has ZERO to do with my pick, I promise ya that!

Eagles were so public last SB and won Pats are huge public and don’t see it happening again Not my only reason but I see this Gurley having a much better game.
I see Brady having a much better game.

Brady (minus D Ford’s offsides blunder) would’ve finished that game with 1 TD and 3 Picks, while getting outplayed in the second half by Mahomes. That dudes luck will run out in the SB. Donald will knock the horse shoe out from the deep recesses of his a55hole.

Only the Public Deluge of $$$$$$ swung the pendulum to the Pats-2.5 ..the dog is Pats in these stats.. Brilliant Minds did not err when they released rams -1.5 Patriots or congrats to you. i never bet against secretariat

Nope, Rams were a favorite before it was known that Patriots were going to beat the Chiefs.
Patriots are the true favorite here because after they beat the Chiefs they opened -1.5

I had my eyes glued to the TV when Mike Jones took down Kevin Dyson with the most clutch tackle of all time on the one (hadn’t he got his hand around Dyson’s hip and dragged it down to his Quad, Dyson scores. The perfect tackle.).
Rams paid me then and they’ll pay me now. I feel fine. I usually feel nervous betting the Bowl. Not here. It’s like sipping a cappuccino.

Wade sure wasn't dependable starting Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in the Music City Miracle.

Remember that the public was all over the Pats +3 vs KC and won. I don't care if public plays Pats so be it. The public can win sometimes too. I would not want to bet on NE losing 2 Super Bowls in a row. Just picture Brady finding Edelman open over and over again. That's what gonna happen.
Nope. The public was on KC. I know because my roommate is "The Public"
Everyone on here except the select few elite cappers, were sucked into the KC trap. To me Patriots was the easiest play on the board but I don't believe for one second that it was a public play. They made sure to have KC as the public play by setting NE up to be dogs in this one as they are a "Bad road" team this year. That was the script. lol

Scal - I also like the Rams. Mostly because I can point to the Patriots rushing defense as the key to the game. I just don't see that Pats stopping the Rams rushing game on a consistent basis.
I haven't read through the whole thread to see how much of this has been discussed, but that is where I stand on it.

The line gives us the winner of this one. THE PLAY IS FOR RAMS +2.5 however do not think for one second that the Rams are a lock to win this game SU because Patriots can win SU and books still clean up as they set the line at less than 3.
So make sure if you play the rams to take the points. Make sure if you play the pats to take the ML.

Pats will win this game. 110%. Rams shouldn't even be in the Superbowl. Don't overthink this.
Agreed 1M%. Rams don't even belong in this game. If they'd win the SB it's the most tainted of all time... The Patriots couldn't win after going 17-0 because of Spygate. This is 10x worse than that. I've been thinking about that robbery all week... The Saints should've walked off the field after that bs. Granted unprecedented but that fkg no-call was unprecedented as well. The NFL deserved having that nightmare scenario on their hands. The sports world would've went crazy on them when a team shows the stones to do something like that. It deserved it.

Rams defensive line must take all the PED's it possibly can before kick-off. They're the key to winning the game. If check-down Tommy is able to sit back there as he did against KC with unlimited time to find an open receiver, the Rams have no chance.
People act like it's so incredibly impressive what Brady does. The dude literally has 10-12 seconds time with no defender within 10 feet of him to find an open receiver and hit a 4-8 yard pass. That's 80% of the Pats offense. Mr system QB himself. Imagine Brady being chased out of the pocket on 45% of his dropbacks and having to roll out of the pocket and make plays, ahahah.
BAR-NONE, the Pats O-line is the teams MVP. I've never seen anything like it. They allow check down Tommy 10-15 second to find an open wideout, where his sole job is to complete a 4-8 yard pass. Think im lying? just rewatch the game.

I'll grant you it does seem like Brady has forever to pass the ball and by him not getting sacked very often shows the efficiency of his front O line..
The one thing that should not be over looked is Brady's release time or time to throw ..Tom Brady times out at 2.61 sec. faster that last years 2.71 ...........In 2018 QB's with 25 or more TD's... only Ben Roethlisberger at 2.55 had a faster release... of note: Drew Brees was 2.59..
So, although the front line protects Tom Brady by blocking well and deserves nothing, but praise.....I believe,,, it's Brady's fast draw (be it many shorter passes) is what has kept him successfully and at the top of the game ..
