nobody can deny scott peoli is a football guru, but with all the forgetting....all the super bowl stars were not belechik/peoli draft guys...in fact peoli and belichik drafts were sub-par...the players that won SBs were brought in under the Tuna: Brady, Bruschi, Law, Milloy etc...dont get me wrong, I would still love to have peoli in the front office

Acually I tip my cap to the Pats & BB.. They put the team concept front and center.. Not looking for a quick fix but instead look for the long term.. A brooding Moss in the locker room is a team cancer to a young team.. When your star is a dog it creates fleas .. When your star bust his ass ala Ray Lewis everybody else follows suit.. Moss was fine while he towed the company line but I bet his antics early on were followed by unreported tension on the field and locker room.. Pats gave nothing up to get him besides the monies he earned.. A hit on the talent at WR for the Pats... No question ... But Pats think long term and they will not let the inmates run the show.. IMO thats why year in and year out they are good team.. In this day and age of prima donnas nice to see a team take a stance.. Pats will be winning games long after moss hangs it up.. Thanks Randy but just like the drunk girl at a party its all fun and games and good times till she throws up in your car then shes just a pain in the ass

Ah not even close. The fastest 40 time he ever ran was 4.42. Randy Moss' fastest recorded time two years ago was still 4.35 (there were some allegations that he ran a 4.1 in the combine in 1998).

The only reason the Pats want to shop Moss is money. Over the past 5-6 years they have been the most tight-fisted team in the league. Other than Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork, they haven't opened up their wallets for anyone. Those two guys have been the face of the franchise for quite a while now. The list of guys they have let go vs. the list of guys they have brought in is staggering.
Richard Seymour Asante Samuel Mike Vrabel Ty Law Deion Branch Logan Mankins (not gone, but no new contract) David Givens David Patten Adam Vinatieri
All guys that played unbelievably well for the Patriots and were huge contributors to their Super Bowl dynasty earlier in the decade. All guys that didn't receive a contract upgrade from the Patriots. They have the "Patriot Way" mentality of the success primarily being a product of the "system" rather than the players.
Bill Belicheck used to be known as a coaching genius. A man who could do no wrong, and week in and week out prepared the perfect game plan for the opposition. They rattled off the longest winning streak in NFL history. But much of that was because he didn't have to be involved in the front office dealings because they had perhaps the best front office guy in the league in Scott Peoli. Trust me, there is a HUGE reason why the Chiefs are 3-0 right now and will contend for a playoff spot. Without Crennel, Weis, Peoli, McDaniels, Mangini, etc...the Patriots playcalling, defensive schemes, and free agent signings have gone completely down the shitter. Belicheck lost all remaining "genius" credibility last season on the now infamous "4th and 2" call.
New Englanders constantly refer back to the old adage of "In Bill We Trust", hoping to rekindle the lost flames of 2001-2005, when we knew that heading into each and every week we had an incredible coaching advantage. It would be nice to think that, but it's just not the way it is any more. The NFL has caught up to the "Patriot Way". The talent pool is deeper. The rules are different. The game is different, but Belicheck refuses to change.
So it's not that the Patriots don't want Randy Moss, or don't value him, or think that he's lazy and needs to be shipped out of town. The simple fact of the matter is that he wants more money. He wants a contract extension. He wants security for his final years in the league. That's not the "Patriot Way" however. In the mind of Belicheck and the Patriots, Brandon Tate, Julian Edelman, Aaron Hernandez, and Rob Gronkowski (basically the guys THEY drafted) are more than capable of handling the workload of their unstoppable "system".
As a Patriots fan, I would hate to see this trade go down because I love the rebirth of Moss and how he has electrified this offense to places no other offense in the history of the league has gone. But as a sports fan who knows about the business of the game, and understands the history of the Patriots organization in recent years, I just don't see how they keep Moss.

Chargers are certainly up there as well. And they have seen the same fate as the Patriots. Great during the regular season, but in the playoffs when you see a team more than likely for the 2nd or 3rd time, your talent is equalized and it comes down to coaching.

I heard that owner is a real hard ass when it comes to paying people, but I can’t believe he would let the best deep threat that every played in the NFL go in the middle of the season! He must have his hooks in Vincent Jackson or somebody to let this potential trade go down!Unbelievable!
Heard ? Its well known everywhere. Its amazing how many people they've let go in recent years. Upper management is a joke even though im fine with letting Moss go.
