Also it's not Kurt's fault he made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. If you have the #1 ranked defense you will be bailed out. Ask Big Ben about being bailed out right before halftime. [did he think NFL players can't jump?] Kurt wasn't bailed out and they lost. What is your point? In this thread STEELER'S fans tell me that the defense was the focal point of the team, so I don't really care about your opinion. Thats a fact.

Well cry me a river, who's fucking fault was it then? Should be a routine play for a player with Warners experience.

I didn't have to ask Big Ben anything, I watched that final drive he put together for another Super Bowl Title. [some people still think the game is played in one half ]

The problem wasnt the INT, rather that the INT was allowed to score with so many penalties during the return, AND that the Pitt defense didnt allow a TD when Ben coughed it up like he did.

The Pitt defense for 3/4 of the game was why they won, although they got lit up like a christmas tree during that 4th Q..man I dont get why Wisenhunt didnt try the no-huddle earlier, ole Dick was sh!tting his pants watching the Cards mow them down on that possession.

Arizona deserved the game just as much as Pitt did, especially with that 4th quarter comeback.

Kurt.  But Ben played pretty good when it counted.  Bottom
line... he got the win.  Kurt didn't.

No doubt Sammy  the defense  carried Pitt last year as the offense was predictable and below average.. BUT with four new offensive lineman and a 3rd string running back for most of the year it was to be expected.. But to devalue the importance of Ben to this team is wrong and uniformed.. Ben is a old time throwback QB.. It aint always pretty and the stats are not always good ( he did throw for 31 TDS & 11 INTS two years ago behind a good line though) he is the heart and soul of this team .. He took some major hits this past year and stood in there and chucked the rock.. MAN STYLE.. Plus no matter how you slice the pie he is clutch at crunch time.. In any sport at any level when you lead your team like he did on that final drive vs Zona in the SB you are clutch period.. No debate.. Its easy to do it early in any game but when the game is on the line the great ones want the ball.. Give me ben before a "pretty "  QB like Carson Palmer any day.. Palmer would have went down like a sack of potatos on that final drive ... Also PS on their first SB run with Ben it was ALL Ben during that 3 game road run.. Not the defense !!! Defense won the SB game ( Ben sucked) but he put them on his shoulders to get there.. Your wrong in short "average" QB's dont lead the team like he has in the heat and or  take the hits he has taken and  keep on winging it.. Even though he is not a stat QB his first five years are well above average.. Sorry wrong here..Period.. Defense a huge part but take Ben out put in an average QB (like carson) and they have ZERO SB wins.. IMO.. and many more..

Plus the Rooneys know a hell of alot more about football talent then anyone on this board ( actually they forgot more about talent then we know on the way to work) and they throw around money like man hole covers and they signed Ben to the biggest contract in Steeler history.. Good enough for me.. Next..

Check out the teams which Brady and especially Manning were on in their first few years and the team that Ben inherited. A guy may be a 63% shooter in all situations, but when the game is on the line his % improves to 85%. Or vice- versa, he could be a choke artist.  I can give you many examples in all sports, Short of it STATS LIE.            

    As far as Big Ben is concearned he' s the real deal. All he does is win. You are doing him a disservice by comparing him to the Mannings. At least twice Peyton has thrown 4+ picks in a playoff game.

I have officially heard it all. Peyton Manning on his bad day is a better QB than Ben on one of his better days. Peyton knows more about the QB position than Ben would learn in two lifetimes.

Big Ben is the beneficiary of an amazing situation. He lucked into getting drafted by a great team, that has an AMAZING defense. This is a fact. The man is a good QB, but thats where it ends. A Shaq size handful of QB'S would of won last year playing on that STEELERS team. Plenty of people agree with me, and I don't care if the STEELERS homers dont. Ben is good, not great. We could go on for years and my views wont change. Good luck this season.......I see BIG things happening for the STEELERS as long as the defense carries them again.

I would take Ben over CARSON also if it would help you sleep at night.

If Ben Roethlisberger's father was gonna start a team for a 1 season run, IMHO I think his father picks Peyton over his son. It's either you have down syndrome or you are a Steel fan, there is no way that you don't fit into that criteria and think Big Ben is better than Peyton
