First of all, when I originally wrote this post, the last I saw of Ben was being carted off and he was listed as Questionable.  So, for you to say "of course" he'll start tells me right off the bat that you're not the best handicapper in the biz.

Second, I'm being very serious.  Ben is overrated.  Ben's QB rating proves his inconsistency.  If "Big Ben" was on the Lions instead of Steelers, he would not even be mentioned on ESPN.  In fact, Jon Kitna would probably have been starting in front of him the last couple years and we would have known "Big Ben" as being just a backup.

Stop sucking his cock because of his "wins and/or win&loss record".  That's not a measurement for a QB just like it's not a measurement for pitchers in baseball.  You people who measure QB's with "wins" are the reason why sportsbooks make so much money.

Offense wins games, defenses win championships, I know you all know this. There are 5 teams with very good defenses out there, Pitt, Tenn, Bal, Phil, Giants. Of these teams, only one has a QB who hasn't been to the Super bowl (BAL). One of these teams will win the Super bowl. Sorry AZ, CAR, and SD.
 
I have not made my picks yet, but am certainly leaning towards Pitt for this game with SD. The physical nature of this defense is
overwhelming against the finesse of a team like SD, i.e., Ravens dominance over Miami. I'll grant you SD has a better offense than Miami did, but Pitt is every bit as good defensively, maybe better than the Ravens, and they're @ home, and it won't be sunny and 70 degrees. I don't have the no.'s in front of me  but I'm pretty sure home teams have a good record ATS in this round, the extra week does help. 
 
As far as the QB's in Pitt are concerned, I think Pitt would probably win with either one, but if Ben is healthy, he's my guy. He may not always be pretty, he'll take some sacks, but he'll make some plays too and with that "D", that's all you need. SD  will need to create multiple turnovers in this game to be competitive. But hey SD backers/fans, it is football, and anything can happen!

Ricker, look at the talent around Ben.  His o-line is awwwwful, he doesnt have any "big play" receivers, the running game is almost non existant (because of the o-line), and heath miller is prob his most reliable target .  The top 5 QB's in this league have great talent around them i.e. Peyton has marvin, reggie, dallas c, addai.  We know who the Pats have, the giants o line is sick which gives eli more than enough time. Drew Brees has a top knotch receiver in colston, and some 4.2 40 blazers.  Ben has old ass Ward, high ass S. holmes who has hands of stone, and an o-line equivalent to swiss cheese.  Imagine if ben had Anquan Boldin, and Larry Fitz to throw.  If Peyton manning was on the steelers, no way he would even be considered for MVP.  I am a steelers homer, but dont trash ben because he trys to make something out of ABSOLUTLY NOTHING OFFENSIVELY.  I just want to say "Thank you Dick Labeu, and the entire defensive unit for the 12-4 season"

sd sucks and so do there fans i live in sd now for 3years and there fans suck they only talk about the team when the playoffs are here .......also when you go to a gane there is more fans 4 the away tem then chargers fans what a joke

If you are betting the Steeler game, you are really betting on the performance of Roethlisberger. Steelers are hands down the better team. If you think Ben will play the way he is capable, you cann give 16 points. However if he continues to turn the ball over, it will definately be a close game. Compare the numbers of his playoff record, not the regular season numbers. There is no way the Chargers will cover. Just hope its not the same officiating crew as last time. 13 penalties to 2.....gimme a break. Heres a stat that most on the left coast won't know. Until the Pitt/Tenn game, a Steeler opponent hadn't been called for holding for the last 23 quarters. The games are controlled........

Is this Ben's mother?  You're wrong!!!!  Ben has proven that he's a backup.  Sure, there was some sarcasm with the Leftwich comment.  But, I figured you as well as the other members of the audience would be smart enough to pick up on that.  I apologize if you were NOT smart enough to get it.  However, as far as Big Ben being overrated and not a good Quarterback.  I will certainly take you on and win that argument all day long!  I dare you to take this further.

I guess this is Big Ben's Father now.  Measuring a QB on "wins" and "superbowl wins" is about as ridiculous a thing I've ever heard.  Just as ridiculous as measuring pitchers in baseball on wins.  Mike Mussina won 20 games last year.  Does that make 2008 Mike Mussina's best season????  Sportsbooks love guys like you.  Keep giving them business.  I'm sure they won't mind.
