The next season is only 208 days away but doesnt hurt to get some thoughts in.
One thing i will get out of the way. It is hard to get back into the Super Bowl. I dont see either either team making it back next year.. less than 10% chance. Dont waste your time on Broncos and Panthers futures. Cam says they'll be back next year? I dont think so.... first round exit for Panthers next year in Wildcard

Long long way to go, lots of off-season rosters turnovers, so it's practically very hard to tell. i like Packers, Patriots, Steelers and Seahawks as of now.

Seattle graded #1 in Football Outsiders DVOA in 2015 for an unprecedented 4th consecutive season
An underrated statistic on Football Outsiders is Mean Wins
No upper tier team in 2015 left more on the table in terms of Wins vs Graded Performance than Seattle; ie, Mean Wins for Seattle was much higher than Actual Wins
Interestingly, no upper tier team posted more Wins than their Graded Performance indicates they deserved than Carolina; ie, Mean Wins for Carolina was much lower than Actual Wins
Regression to the mean will take place in 2016
Seattle will get these wins back in 2016, while Carolina's football existence will be much less charmed in 2016

Both teams riddled w/ injury THIS year. If both squads can stay relatively healthy(not losing key players to season ending injuries)
Division wise the steelers toughest opponent the bengals. Currently a very well rounded team.
Packers worry about the Vikings, an up n up team but not proven yet.
I want to say the Cardinals are in the running but doesn't it feel like Carson Palmer was very lucky this year to NOT get seriously hurt? And he's getting up their in age, not sure how he responds to another full season of football, and the Cards need him healthy.
My surprise team to make the playoffs is the Raiders. 3 years of solid drafting. Let's see who they get in this years draft

We will see a huge regression to the mean from the Panthers. Their season total should get pounded on the under. Several reasons:
-Josh Norman will test the open market, MVP of the defense (No, it's not Kuechly), Tillman probably won't be back -Way more wins than mean wins (regression) -Easiest SOS, next year vs. NFC West and AFC West
Teams who are 1-2 players away from a deep playoff run:
Packers Cowboys Ravens Seahawks Steelers
Ravens, Cowboys & Dolphins are going to be money-makers next season, atleast early in the season.

just took a look at futures today and already seeing some value reduction on the Ravens and Cowboys!
i got the Ravens 50/1 at William Hill on Jan 25th, and after one week it went to 40/1 and two weeks later it is now 30/1. Was actually kind of shocked that Ravens opened up that high based on one unlucky season. Cowboys opened at a steady 30/1 but now is 25/1 day after Super Bowl.
Westgate's future odds are terrible for almost all teams. Ravens are 30/1 there and 16/1 on the Cowboys.
Sip on that plus money honey!

I say 12-4 because that's what they were before Romo's clavicle decided to take the year off.
yup the O-line will always give them the edge. Romo could or i should say will have a bounce back season. Could use another good RB to go with McFadden, another playmaker at WR. i don't know about Cole Beaseley, he is prone to making dumb turnovers. Cowboys should go after a better slot reciever in free-agency. maybe beef up the secondary a little bit more. defense showed improvement will only get better.

PANDA, whatever you do, dont put money on that. Thank me later. ZERO, ZERO, ZERO chance Dallas even sniffs the Super Bowl.
Their signing of Greg Hardy is still too fresh in the minds of the American people. He is the new face of domestic violence to many. It would be a PR nightmare for the NFL. Keep fading me and keep losing.
ZERO, ZERO CHANCE OF DALLAS GETTING IN.
REMEMBER THIS POST.
If the Cowboys don't make it it's not because of one man the NFL doesn't want to see, it'll be because the Dallas Cowboys sucked that year. which is usually 9 times out of 10. there's always that possibility of that magical season like they had 2 years ago. that's why i say 9 times out of 10
i think you can come up with a better reasoning than your conspiracy theories man but thanks for the fascinating read lol.

I promise to stop with my conspircy theories when I stop picking constant winners. How's that?
Or better yet. I'll stop posting altogether of Covers when guys like you--who have no clue--stop biting at those welfare cheese, rope-a-dope "gift" lines like:
NE -3 vs DEN
CAR -5.5 vs DEN
How's that? Deal ?
alright fair enough... since you brought that upon yourself. post a weekly thread next season and start keeping track of your winners. don't recall seeing you've done that at all this season
also for the record, i've been picking Denver as home dogs all season against GB, NE etc. in the playoffs i only went against Denver when they played Pittsburgh at -7.5 but rode Denver the rest of the way. and bought Denver futures at 6/1 because that defense sold me by week 5, not because the NFL wanted to give Peyton Manning a retirement gift.
coincidences are just that.. coincidences, but i do love superstition though. Denver had destiny/luck written all over them because their defense is just that good. it's only because people's impression of their offense blinded them noone thought Denver could stand a chance with Manning's noodle arm but that never concerned me much.

The Baltimore Ravens are in the position to make a deep run. This season was plagued with injuries on almost every position. Elam, Flacco, Monroe, S Smith, Forsett, Perriman, Suggs, Davis, Jernigan and so on. They still played a lot of close games.
Kelechi Osemele and Courtney Upshaw are the only ones whose contracts expire in 2016. Osemele should be signed, otherwise I would love if the Jets pick him up. Ravens don't have a good cap situation because of the stupid contract they gave Flacco, but they are set on most positions. Maybe they try to restructute his deal. There are a few contracts to move on from like Dennis Pitta and they have the sixth draft pick.
Key needs: CB & WR. There will still be good WRs in the second round, because the first round is loaded with DE talent. Ravens should target a guy like Jalen Ramsey or Vernon Hargreaves with the 6th pick. A complement to Jimmy Smith with Webb switching to FS would be great. CB and WR were clearly the difference maker for the Ravens this year. When Colin Kaepernick behind the worst OL is able to pick you apart from the pocket, because you have to start Shareece Wright, you are in trouble. Flacco had good protection but after the injuries of Smith and Forsett, this offense fell apart. Smith and Perriman (not tested yet) come back from injuries, so grabbing a WR either via free agency or with the second pick is high on the to-do list.

Got it right down to the tee, Suuma.
I have no doubt in my mind Ravens would be 11-5 or 10-6 instead of 5-11 if it werent for all the injuries but thats football for ya. The WR corp looked promising. They have some depth in that position but could definitely benefit adding nother veteran WR to the mix. Campanero and Aiken stepped up and showed promise but dont know if Aiken will stay he is a free agent. Getting Alshon Jeffery would be nice though or someone with championship experience like Jermaine Kearse
Jaylen Ramsey would be a great fit for the secondary. I hear Ravens journalist talking up FS Darian Thompson from Boise as the next ball-hawking Ed Reed. Ranked #3 in FBS with most INT's. Another pass rusher to complement Suggs and Dumervil is also a priority. Ravens had decent sack rate last season but were definitely little thin in that department
Loved how Gary Kubiak paid tribute to the Ravens coaching staff and helped him be a better coach. Oh man what if Kubiak had stayed.. lol. But i am happy for him with his success in Denver. Class act

Yeah man. Andrew Luck is due for one soon. Thought it wouldve been this season. But maybe we will see the benefit/results from Gore and Andre Johnson in year 2.
Ravens , Colts and Steelers are my top 3. Patriots and Broncos will always be in the mix
