Haha that's fair enough, I didn't fully believe I had much of a strong argument there. Really just playing more of Devil's Advocate really. I'll take the C from you, as it seems like you grade on a harsh curve. "C's get degrees too!" As I said at the beginning of my post, I agreed with your assessment before the season started, as well as some of your points. Just wanted to hear you address some of those close losses as well, as Seattle continues to be a team that plays close games in both their wins and their losses.
The 8 point loss to the Chargers is obviously the worst example, so I'm not surprised you didn't love that one lol.
I'm not fully sure I agree with your stance on either of the Rams' wins though. That first game up in Seattle was very much up for grabs. McVay went for it on their final possession on 4th & short, where most coaches would punt it away. The Rams don't convert that and the Seahawks are already in Janikowski FG range for the win. Even if they punt it away, Russell had time to get them into FG range for the win.
Also not sure how you can say the Rams were never in true danger on their home field in the 2nd game either. Seattle led the game 21-20 entering the 4th quarter and got the ball down to the Ram's 35 yard line, down 5, on their final drive. Russell had the ball in his hands with a chance to lead them down the field and win the game with a TD on the final possession but came up short. As someone who had the Rams ML in that game, as well as some live bets, I can assure you that I was sweating some 4th Q Russell heroics.
They also led going into the 4th Q in Denver, as well, although you didn't address that one.
The Bears game I conceded, as even though it was a 7 point loss, Seattle was trailing most of the game and never really had a legit chance to win that one.
I definitely don't discount the Jimmy G injury either, so you're right, those 2 "freebies" that weren't a given when the season started. Overall, I'm not really even arguing against you or your points. Those situations likely don't compare equally to the unlucky wins Seattle achieved. I just felt like you weren't really addressing any of the results that might have been somewhat fortunate in your favor as well and I wanted to hear you counter it and explain your thoughts. Most people on here aren't really providing any solid counterarguments to you other than just "stop being a baby Scal, your bet sucked, and you can't take the loss."
I have always enjoyed your write-ups and posts, regardless of the outcome. You seem to have a sharper mind than most on here and don't strictly stick to numbers and the obvious stuff that every book in the world has already factored into the line. I know you've talked about taking a break or walking away or whatever, but I hope to continue to see posts on plays from guys like you and LeagueCapper, since I consider you both 2 of the best long-term guys on here who can ignore the plethora of haters that continuously come out of the woodwork here when losing plays make their appearance. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
