Van are your units going up strictly because it's playoffs? Or is it because your up almost 50 units and at that point no matter what you increase unit size? Looking forward to the answer and hoping you love the playoffs. Have a great night!

Hey Van. With you on everything except the Ravens (my hometown team). They just can't score enough imo. Cincinnati is scoring 25-30 pts out of bed. Ravens just can't score. Maybe their defense keeps Cinn down. That's a hard position to sign up for, if you win that, you feel like you played in the game. Dallas played so horribly last week, they are coming out hard vs the trash Bucs. The line says it all. Giants should beat the worst 13-4 team of all time by running it down their throats.

How about 7 point teaser...Giants +10....Jags +9.5...Ravens +15.5....Thoughts Van?
Thoughts are.... Teasers are generally not a good bet. And you have the Jags in there - which at 9.5 I totally understand - but I have the Chargers with a 24% chance of winning by 10+. So make of that what you will.

Plan your six bets out. Make sure that if you are 0-5, you still have money to bet on the Cowboys.
I have the feeling there are lots of folks here who will be betting their whole bankroll between the first two games on Saturday.
Maintain realistic goals.

I’d like to get some insight on your chargers pick. I also like them but I was convinced you’d be on the jags. thanks for sharing. And GL
I put a lot of emphasis on recency once we reach the playoffs. So for me - the last 5 weeks mean more than the last 10 weeks, and the last 10 weeks mean more than the whole season.
If I look at the last 8 weeks, the Chargers and Jags overall look very similar at the top line. Similar wins, similar stats for offense and defense. But when you get in to splits - the matchups really favor LAC.
Specifically - Jax passing has been carrying them - and they have struggled to run. The Chargers weakness is their run defense - while their pass defense has been top 5 in the league. Lawrence mistakes come when he is is forced in to quick decisions - and the Chargers win rate on the DLine gives me the narrative that they will be able to pressure him when the run game isnt working, and mistakes should follow. The key will be to shut down the Jags run game - which I think the Chargers will - and make Jax one dimensional. It would compound if the scoreboard has the Jags behind.
On the other side - I think the Chargers will dink and dunk the Jags to death. The 5 yard passes - Herberts specialty - will be there - and if the Jags play up tight - they will get burned medium. The Jags passing defense is 24th adjusted in the league, and Herbert is really one of the top in the NFL when he has time to throw. Which might be a problem - and not guaranteed- but heres the thing.... The Chargers love the short passing game with YAC, and that is something the Jags have struggled with.
I see the Chargers able to control some long possessions, and I think the Jags will score in the teens. Something like a 26-17 type of game.

Units go up because historically my predictions get better later in the season - especially playoffs.
It has nothing to do with being up for the regular season. Only that confidence levels go up.

Whats your angle/thoughts on Baltimore? They keep it within a td, the U40.5 should come into play one would think....
This is a scary one. Bengals are a covering machine, and Burrow is in my opinion top 3 NFL value against replacement.
I think the Bengals win, but I also think Huntley is adequate - and a big upgrade from last Sunday. More of a value number play - that 8.5 is a lot of points for a team that has a shut down defense - and some injuries on the Bengals offense that could keep it close. Not in love with it - cant make a definitive case for it - just see it being closer than the number.
Bengals 21 - 16
