Home teams better step it up today!
Oil with 1 PP last night and 4 to 10 in series. It is laughable with McDavid on your team you get 1 PP. He certainly isn’t first generational talent that has had to put up with it but it is nonsense and at home.
I like Peg again tonight at that price and I won’t bet them and hope they lose but can’t see Leafs not winning.

So bolts laid down after stealing the 1 they needed in game 1....I mentioned that in this thread
Game 3 should be really tight between tor/tb ....just need goalies to make the saves
Will probably look at overs for any 2-0 series as the team down 2 has to go for it

Good morning Gentlemen and Jules
Well, I obviously do not have a handle on things ar the moment. Really thought both Vegas and Colorado would come out of the gate similar to the Leafs. Speaking of the Leafs, signs of life. Keep repeating, but I feel the stage is too big for the Devils right now. Heard on the radio, Rangers set a new playoff record. They have the largest goal differential for an away team after the first two games in a series at +8. Here is another impressive stat from the Rangers, Fox has been involved in 6 of their 10 goals. If you are going to bash the Leafs, you also have to give them props. They did what they needed to do last night (actually thought I would see that kind of game in Game 1). Cooper made a good point, Tampa didn't get beat because of the lack of D men, they have played without Hedman and other before, they just got out worked and played. Went to bed and Kracken were up 2-0 and Jets up 1-0, awoke to find both teams found some new life.
So switching gears or should I say home ice. Will anything change in the Isles series? Acutally, the first two games were relatively close and let's remember, I don't think the Canes won a single road game in the playoffs last year did they? Isles are a wounded animal backed into a corner, can't go down 3-0 or else. This goes back to an UNDER game, even at 5, imo. Canes will play it very tight to the vest. Ok, I do feel that the Panthers will get one of the two at home, but which one. Florida is in no way intimidated by the B's. Might need to confirm but I also heard that Bergeron might not even be making the trip to Florida. This is more than is being let on. I also feel this is an OVER type situation. Rockem, Sockem series goes to Minneapolis. This one is turning into my favorite series to watch. I honestly have no idea on this one. So, I will be a hockey fan and watch. Speaking of a fan, this playoffs is so different not rooting for a certain team, kind of relaxing, something I haven't experienced in 16 years. Had to get that one in there. I will not be awake for the last one. How much longer can the Kings keep McDavid bottled up? No word on Fiala but the Kings could sure use him about now.
As mentioned elsewhere, I do like Coachilla Valley tonight in the AHL. I got them the other night at 160 ML but I see it is up to 190, maybe regulation.
What do you want to talk about?

Isles 1P -0.5 might be worth a shot. Only worry is that they have no Offense (much like my Canes), and I think both teams would prefer a low scoring, risk averse approach. Like Bruins to bounce back. No Patty hurts Faceoffs, but they are just too deep and strong on all 4 lines.
I think Minny Dallas is just one of those series that you just stay away from until Game 5, and then start sniffing Unders. Kings series bet is uber tempting. Seeing them as high as +220, and LA Took them to 7 games last year. If, IF, Fiala is able to return, that +220 would be a wise investment, IMO.

Leafs, Well that's more like it! Don't know what to expect in game 3 after seeing both teams dominate. Just read a interesting article by 'The Hockey Writers' pertaining to the Sheldon Keefe/ Wes McCauley connection. If you're not familiar with it, I would suggest reading it . I do think the NHL dropped the ball on this one ,and no I'm not prone to conspiracies. Opinions?
Nice to see Mark Stone hasn't missed a beat. Question for ya, how good would Ottawa look right now with Stone, Karlson, and Gustavson in the lineup ?
Canes are doing what the Canes do best , quietly going about winning.
McDavid is going to breakout sooner or later why not tonight, -118 ATG I think I'll take that.
Good Luck everyone

Going to the Kings game tonight! There is absolute radio silence on Fiala. Obviously he's a difference maker.
Looking at the over, any thoughts? Appreciate you Doc!

How about both.

He didn't. "Maybe back for Game 5" said Coach Montgomery.

Best wishes for the rest of the playoffs (AHL included, of course)
That's wild stuff...23/32 teams make the playoffs...but I LIKE IT...why the heck not give teams a shot (and their fans and ownership and sponsors...life blood of the minor leagues).
Cheers

No feel for Bolts/Laffs, but I got Laffs series money, so staying off that one. Rags is a solid play, as are the Jets IMO. Lean Avs, but Kraken are no slouches, and play Avs well since their inception.

Afternoon Gentlemen and Jules
Golf tourney and missed the first one. The Canes road woes continue in the playoffs. Isles did their best Oilers impression in the 3rd period last night. Boston decided to show up and when they do, they are scary. Moose's boys made a statement last night and although I didn't catch it live, the replay in LA did appear to be a high stick imo.
Personally, I like that these series are going back and forth, that just means more hockey for us.
Hedman was on the ice skating this morning but still game time decision. Tampa dominates Game 1, Toronto Game 2, so who, when and how much is the question. I did look, the last 5 meetings in Tampa has all been overs. I'll be tuning in but no betting on or against the Leafs.
Igor played well in the first two games vs Pens last year then allowed 14 goals in Game 3 and Game 4. Noted, those were on the road and not home. The Devils have looked lost the first two games. Something is telling me this will be another high scoring affair and I think the Devils will get 3. If they don't, they will probably be down 3-0. What's that saying about an angry animal in a corner.
Seattle does appear to have the Avs number and being home for their first playoff game will be a rocking crowd but we are still talking the defending Champions. Colorado has won all 2 of the 3 games in Seattle and 2 of the 3 have been unders. These teams have met 8 times and the under has hit 6 of them.
Enjoy the games. What do you want to talk about?

Good Morning Gentlemen and Jules
Let's use this quote today, "Are you not entertained". I can't recall a playoff day where not just one, not just two but THREE games went to OT but the best part of it was I was able to watch each OT without worrying about something in the other game.
VGK/Jets caught the last of the 3P and OT's. As I have said multiple times, why does a team decided to flip the switch in the 3P of a hockey game? Can't you come out and play like ballz to the wall in the first? The Jets had a total of 11 shots thru the first two periods and then throws everything at the net in the 3P and guess what happened. (just an example, Tucson came out Friday night and threw 17 shots on net in the 1P vs CV and scored 3) Hell of a third period to just got into the game but what a terrible time to cough up the puck Winnipeg. The loss of Morrissey is HUGE for this team. He lead his team in assists and to give you some prespective, he had as many apples as Fox this year. Hard to replace that production even if Ehlers returns.
Leafs/Bolts would really like to find the TV ratings on that game. A lot of breakdown in this one. First and foremost, thought Samsonov was really shaky to start the game and Bolts should've taken advantage. Through the first two periods, I thought no way this guy can keep up with Boston if Leafs advance but then he got his crap together. The hit on Point, imo, was just a physical hockey play, nothing dirty, good no call. I can see why Matthews doesn't fight (his first one every in the league). Dude turtled on even Stammer. I said this at the time of this trade, O'Reilly was the grit this team needed. In the past, they would not have that player that would park himself in front of the net in the closing seconds and they would just fire shots, but not now, a grinder. In OT, thought Tampa was the better, aggressive and faster team, but Samsonov saved the day for the Leafs. OT goal was something I thought Vas should have stopped. The longer this series goes, advantage Leafs, imo.
As Moose will tell me, pick a side. I had the right side but I bet the tt instead (that is just me). How about the kid, Schmid. Devils survived but didn't look great doing it. Yes, Rangers are having an affect on Devils game but Jersey averaged 34.33 SOG in the regular season but first 3 games of the playoffs, just 25.6. If they want to extend this series to 6 or 7 games, they need to figure that out. But glad they won because that is just more hockey.
Only caught the first period of the late one but, yep Nate and Cale decided to step up their games and the results showed.

Do the Canes solve the road vs the Isles today? My opinion is, nope. To me, if the Isles can just figure out how to score 3 goals, they have a chance in this series. Canes have some serious offensive challenges at this point. O/U set at 5. Don't you have to at least sprinkle on the over? I don't think so.
As much as I would like seeing Florida make this a series, I don't see it. Bruins take a strangle hold on the series as they head back to Boston up 3-1, especially if Ekblad is out. He skated yesterday but no news as of yet. Boston is struggling with their PP right now, 0-4 game 3 and 1-4 game 2. Need to figure that out moving forward. I believe Maurice will go back with Lyon again today.
Bruiser series. I know what Moose will say but it will not be that easy. One thing for sure, I think we will see Dallas put up more than 24 SOG in this game. No bets for me on this game, just watching.
Oil have a little red arse? They better. Going down 3-1 on this Kings team would not be a good thing. The Oil needs to come out in Game 4 like they did in Game 2. For you prop guys, I think McDavid and Leon will try and take control, similar to Nate last night.
A lot to discuss so what do you want to talk about?
