I must say, if Philly advances i dont really like our chances.. Pens are just HOT as hell right now,, There embrassing one of the best defensive teams in the playoffs.. I give credit to the Pens D also, but Rangers arent exactly "offensively gifted" arent they one of the lowest scoring teams coming into playoffs? I'm not trying to take credit away from pens, just asking a question.

I was never a fane of the Ranger Defense. No playoffs experience & slow. If anything I found the Rangers def. to be their major weakness.

Teams that start 7-0 win the cup, 8 out of 9 times.  I believe the 93/94 NYR were the last to do it.

Flyers are going to give the Pens a good run for their money.  They played them well all season long.

LRR, the one thing that has really surprised me is how the Penguins are winning the battles along the boards. I am amazed at how Crosby has been handling his own in this department and guys like Dupuis have done such a good job working down low. To me it was like when Laraque and Talbot banged away in the Ottawa series, that it became contagious amongst the team. The one thing that has stuck out in this series to me versus the Rangers is the Penguins speed. They just seem to be really flying around and second period aside in the last game, puttinfg forth a full effort each period. Been fun to watch, let's hope the ride keeps going.

you had to know they would sweep the senators and this series i thought would go 6 so its a surprise but the games have been close.
 
the fact that they will play the team they tanked a game against to avoid is kind of interesting

So far this post season, the Flyers have owned the first period, and shit the bed in the third period(s)
 
The Pens have owned the third period(s)
 
I see lots of 1-1, 2-1, 2-2 games becoming Penguin routs in the third

C'mon now LeRinkRat, lets be realistic about the Penguins current success, at least in the postseason anyway. First off, Therian got the opponent he wanted most for his injury-free lineup, that being a totally depleted Ottawa team which couldn't compete at all and went out in four games; the Penguins were then the beneficiary of an eight-day rest; then they met and are up against a Ranger team that ousted a New Jersey squad that played the five game set like most teams play five preseason games; with that being said, the Penguins are currently on the verge of another possible eight or nine day rest, pending the duration of the Philadelphia-Montreal series, a series that virtually makes the Rangers-Pittsburgh set resemble the Ice Capades. Lets face it, the path to the Stanley Cup Finals this year for Pittsburgh is as smooth and easy as picking cherries and they should be a solid 'lock' to represent the East in the Finals against either Dallas or Detroit, who by that time will be so battered and bruised from their series against each other, that Pittsburgh should be a heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup. Heck I don't recall a team having such an easy path to the finals since the 85-86 Canadiens, when the three first place teams were eliminated in the opening round, followed by the second place team bowing out in round two. No don't be too surprised at all LeRinkRat because if Pittsburgh doesn't represent the Eastern Conference in the Finals this year, let alone win the Stanley Cup, they may never win it period.
