So you think it was a really dirty suspendable hit POTSY ?? I didn't study it or rewind it. But it looked like he was slipping so his head was 2 feet lower than it should be.

He clearly led with his elbow and while he technically didnt fully come off the ice, all he had was a toe on the ice. He definitely lunged at the very least. I think he should be suspended, but Im biased

If I am reading this right, I think Potsy and DDH are saying the same thing. It was a hockey hit. Didn't leave his feet, Backus dropped his head to shoulder level. We see it all the time in football. If Backus' head was where it should have been, it would have been shoulder to shoulder. Sure maybe a minor penalty but not a major. 
And yes Potsy, contact sports are becoming tag. The Wussification of America is what I have named it and I deal with Sports everyday of my life.

no I think backes put himself in that position. I don't know about you,but the first thing my coaches taught me was NOT TO PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN!

It's like when Chara gets an elbowing penalty for hitting Cammeleri or something when the guys head is down by Chara's hip lolol

I've seen similar hits like that over the last few years in the NHL lead to majors and suspensions. Not sure why anyone thinks that hit should be any different. That's just the way they are calling it now. Nothing is like it used to be as far as hitting goes in any sport. Hockey or Football. Your gonna get fines and suspensions for hits that lead to player injuries no matter how clean or dirty they are. It's unfortunate at times but that's the new age of sports.

Oh and I'm on the CLB/PENS over for sure and also AV's ML....after than not sure....maybe CLB +1.5 to O 5


AV's ML is my fave play though. They're young and seemed a lil tentative last game but you gotta think that crazy comeback will having them feeling a lil looser and playing confident.


Plsu I hate MINNY's road game (sub 500 on the road) and COL are beasts in that thin mile high air at 27-11

I understand if they suspend him because you're 1000% correct the precedent has been set.

That said I don't always agree with it like in this situation. Playoff games are huge though too so I think he may have to get the ole checkbook out and they should leave it at that.
