Martingale Hockey System

Taking one team all season from the East and West Conference to win each game they play
Taking one team all season from the East and West Conference to lose each game they play
Every loss (betting loss) will be martingaled.
No bet when teams play each other.
We are playing $10 a game so the martingale after a betting loss will be $20 then $40 then $80 then $160 and so forth regardless of the odds.
We have 2 online accounts funded with 2K which we hope will still be there in the end.........

The obvious choice in picking teams to win would probably be Washington from the East and San Jose from the West.  On the flip side Florida and Edmonton would probably be good choices to lose.  Unfortunately the odds on those 4 teams will be terrible so we are going to pick teams with what we believe will be decent odds, solid systems and a propensity not to go on long losing streaks and win streaks.  Therefore our picks are the LA Kings and NJ Devils to win and the Islanders and Ducks to lose.
Last season LA's longest losing streak was 4 games and New Jersey's was 3. The longest win streak for the Islanders was 4 and the Ducks longest win streak was 5.

Hose, jump back in the thread and lets talk.  You will run into long losing streaks and when you are talking about the juice of some of these teams it will be huge.

Do some backtesting for last year and see the number of times you will be doing exactly what happycap said.

Martingale never works unless your bankroll is unlimited and your sportsbook/casino has no wagering limits.  Since both those things are impossible, the martingale system is inherently flawed.

Tell that to the professional gamblers who make a living off of it

In gambling, as in life, there are very few absolutes, and luck will always play a role in the way things play out. 

There are also many varieties or hybrids of Martingale which "tweek" it...

I do not advocate Martingale, but well financed and highly liquid bettors with plenty of "outs" can make it work.

Point me to a "professional" gambler that plays this way.  Because if they do they are nothing close to being professional.  Unless they are starting at a $1 wager. Which again, isn't professional.
