As a daily poster on this forum this play won't make or break me and I will be here tomorrow regardless of the result. I am also not someone who you will see with a "play of the year" or "play of the month" every week. Everyday is a normal day and on a rare rare occasion something like this might present itself. I have had this date circled on my calendar for quite some time and it's finally here. The Sharks at home against the leagues worst the lowly Sabres. The BEST thing possible heading into this game was the fact the Sharks blew 1 goal leads and lost to both LA and Phoenix. This Sharks team is a very competitive group with very high expectations and I know letting those 2 games slip away won't sit well with them. Everyone talks about playing down to an opponent and looking past a team like the lowly Sabres, but after you let 2 slip away there is no way your gonna look past your next opponent regardless of who that opponent might be. The Sharks had 2 days off between games and finishing games was definitely something that was addressed.
Some numbers...
Sharks are #1 in the NHL averaging 3.71 goals per game, but that number is even higher at home where they are averaging 4.67 goals per game.
Sharks are #1 in the NHL in goal differential at 1.93, with it being 2.83 at home.
Sharks are #1 in the NHL in shots per game averaging 37.4.
Sharks are #1 in the NHL in shot differential at 12.6, with again it being higher at home at 22
Sharks are ranked 8th in the league on the power play, but are better at home ranked 5th overall.
Sharks are 2nd in the NHL allowing just 1.79 goals per game
Out of the 10 Sharks wins this season, they covered the PL 8 times including 4 out of 5 at home.
Buffalo is last in the league averaging 1.56 goals per game
Buffalo is last in the league with a -1.50 goal differential per game
Buffalo's 4.8 road PP % is last in the league with 1-21 in 7 games
Out of Buffalo's 14 losses, the opponent covered the PL 7 times, including 2 in a row, and none of the opponents were the leagues highest scoring team at home.
Obviously we could go on and on with the numbers and they don't lie. Anyone that follows hockey knows how lopsided of a game this is on paper. At the end of day on paper will only get you so far and it's still a game of inches. Anything can happen and if the Sabres somehow steal a game in San Jose then ill live with it. If the Sharks play the way I expect them to play tomorrow I definitely see them winning pretty comfortably and covering the puck line. I will be here on Wednesday no matter what, but I am taking a shot here on my team. I am sure people will call me crazy for my biggest bet of the season being on a PL but at the end of the day if the end result is a Win then that's all that matters.
By all means I welcome the comments, questions, bashing, wishes of good luck etc. The bet is in so no going back now. It might not be that big to some but for me it will definitely be one of the biggest bets i've ever made.
Sharks PL (-110) for 20 Units...
which for me equals $2,000
Sharks 5-1... Best of Luck all

Worse case scenario Sharks lead by 1 with a min left and we have to sweat an open net lol
I really really really would hate to need an empty netter for this to hit but if that how it happens i won't complain. I am hoping for a more comfortable game tho lol
