currently + 110 to win the Cup .. are you kidding me an expansion team to win the Stanley Cup? this is equivalent to an expansion team winning the Super Bowl, it seems impossible but VGK will win the cup imo .. I live in Vegas and ever since opening night when VGK honored the victims of the las vegas shootings  it has been an amazing story .. the city and team have rallied around each other to put together this incredible season i have never seen anything like this .. the other day i went to the wells fargo bank for a few minutes afterwards i went to Smiths grocery store for about 30 minutes and no exaggeration i probably seen over 100 people wearing Golden Knights shirts .. this city has rallied around this team like you can not believe it is insane VGK and Vegas Strong signs. and stickers every where you look .. Vegas Golden Knights will win the Stanley Cup for the city of Las Vegas and to honor the victims of the shooting i have no doubt about this .. VGK to win it all load up on that baby because its money in the bank

And it is not equivalent to anything, the rules were changed specifically for them and they are not an expansion team, yes by definition of it being their first year but the team is stacked with talent because the rules were changed for them so that they could be instantly successful. Also doesn't hurt when they suspend your opponents best players for next to nothing...Drew Doughty...or when they allow you to take your stick and smash the opponents star player face in without fear of being penalized lol....

By the way I am a huge Raiders fan and they too will win the super bowl when they move to vegas and that too will be bullshitt. They are my team but I am objective enough to be able to say that, not blinded by being a fan.

they were stacked with so much talent but yet at the beginning of the season the "experts" projected them to be a bottom 5 team in the league, if they was so stacked with talent oddsmakers would not open them up at 500 to 1 odds to win the cup .. after they win the cup they will go down as the greatest story in sports history

so much revisionist history from hockey fans now who are complaining about the expansion rules or nhl gm's being terrible..one of those is more true as vegas acquired their best players through trade because other gm's wanted to protect who they thought were their better players 

but anyways no one was predicting vegas would be remotely good  at the start of the year and now all these whinebags are crying about it...to funny

and leicester city was 5000-1 to win ....vegas was 200-1...not even close to being the biggest underdog story...

st louis cardinals 2011 world series win 999-1 odds with 15 games left in season

Greece euro cup 2004 200-1 odds

Rams to win super bowl beginning of  season with unknown arena qb kurt warner when they beat titans  300-1 odds

2013 auburn to win bcs title  1000-1 odds 

minnesota twins world series 1987   500-1 odds

This is hilarious.  The old farts can not admit that VGK is just a better team.  So they say VGK gets help...which causes them to win.

 

This is called fixing a game.  So if the game is fixed, stop betting.  Or bet Vegas only.

What losing wager are you referring to? I actually have done pretty well these playoffs wager on which teams will get the benefit of some friendly help, with the capitals netting me the most and it played out exactly as I thought. By the way teams can get favoritism and still lose, they have to be able to capitalize on the preferential treatment they receive from the officials but at this level when it is this close it is very simple to tilt the scales with some calls one way and lack there of the other way. But hey you see things as you do, it's all good, i am not here to win you over, how you view things is your own thing. GL with everything but nothing I say has anything to do with a lost wager so no idea where that comes from???? I have my views from watching all sports for decades and seeing what I have seen, it does not come from losing. Anyway GL and take care

People keep calling it an expansion team (it is, technically) but the way wherein they built their team is monumentally different than years ago.

This is not a typical expansion team. Its loaded with strong, capable players, strong goaltending etc etc Outside of chemistry, they had just as good of a shot coming into the season as anyone else.

Everyone is amazed because of the word "expansion," but it simply doesn't and never did mean anything this year. Vegas had a HUGE talent pool of players to choose from all by themselves.

Can't speak for anyone else but I know myself nor anyone I know called these guys castoffs, The Knights had a VERY strong pool of talent to choose from thanks to the NHL changing the rules for them and they were given the same odds to win the cup as greece was to win the 2004  euro cup which greece did so the oddmakers also gave them respect as did most knowledgeable hockey fans. They got a stanley cup winning netminder to begin with and many very skilled young talented players and could fill every single need they desired with defensive specialist guys like Bellemaire who they took from my Flyers. The Flyers went to France to scout and get that player, they did not want to lose him and none of the teams the other players came from wanted to lose them either so none of them are castoffs, the teams were forced to leave a very wide window for these new kind of expansion team and not a single team had plans to let any of the players go that the knights got to steal away from them so no, there are no castoffs on that team and there never were.
