Gesink is severely injured. McEwen was taken to hospital with a bad cut in his arm where he lost a lot of blood. McEwen will rest today in the hope he's right for tomorrow's sprintfest.

Garmin will have to send someone up the road. Wynants will be working for Chavanel. Maaskant loves this terrain.

That will do me for today. Plucked out three decent head to heads and Hushovd should go close to winning, if not win the stage today.

Assuming Cav isn't hurt, it's all about him tomorrow.

Wow, outstanding day, did not notice you actually hit them all. Once I saw Thor get in on the finish sprint, I was hopping he'd cash it in for you, a very well deserved win for the work you put in. Had both of your very juicy H2H considering the info you had. Basso barely beat Gesink as they crossed the line with the same group but a winner regardless. Once again, thanks for taking the time to share and posting the picks.

Ciolek is overrated, Freire is the better rider. Hushovd is the better rider and McEwen despite being injured is the better rider.

A French rider should be most combative tonight. Chavanel could try the break again and now we're in French soil, Voeckler should try the break.

Hushovd is the best sprinter in this field at the moment so should come top three.

If Cav doesn't win the stage today, he has no shot at winning the green jersey and he may as well pull out.

Hushovd has his victory so there is a chance that Columbia will be the only ones doing the work. After two tough days, the peloton might want a rest and thus one team may have to do all the pace setting.
