The only reason I didn't wade into that hugely generous price on an England series win is the fact I don't plan on cheering for the Poms for the next three months

I think England will bowl better than Australia (no great feat) and I reckon they're just about on equal terms in the batting. On paper and on repuation Australia should hold an edge in the batting dept but our guys are far too prone to losing concentration and gifting their wickets away nowadays.
England 9 for 420-odd at the moment, you watch when we come out to bat it'll appear to be a totally different game. They'll make our batsmen play, their spinners will build pressure and I think they'll whip us out for considerably less than they're about to make 
this is exactly what I've been yelling at the TV all evening ! Not just about side-arm pie chucker Johnson but the whole crew.
Our bowlers are NEVER smart enough to attack the stumps against tail enders or on 4th & 5th day wickets. They bowl "fast bouncey Australian wicket" length 365 days of the year.
Goddamn, Johnson is gonna get no-balled for bowling under-arm soon if his left arm gets any lower. What a horrible action this guy has.
