Leipheimer won't show up tomorrow. He's too far for either a win or a podium. He will simply ride his bike one last time in the Giro accepting his disappointing position.
If you have a chance, fade Leipheimer for good value.
Armstrong should look pretty good completing his training for France.
Di Luca will give eveything he has but unfortunatly, Menchov is a stronger timetrialist and will finish at the top of the ranking.
Garmin would appreciate a win in their speciality, can Zabriksie stand ? Pate, Millar and Wiggins should show nice results.

Pinotti was your pick last year ?

Okay this TT course does not suit Leipheimer or Zabriskie or Bruseghin. It doesn't suit Voigt. Too technical. It suits a rider who is a good pursuit rider. Wiggins.
It suits Rogers and it suits Pinotti. It suits Wiggins.
It doesn't suit Armstrong.
Therefore, smart money will say Wiggins. He should win this. $3, happy with that. I'll make the decision on who I back in the next few hours.
Could be something like 10 units on Wiggins @ $3 and 2 unit on Pinotti @ $10

With the overalls taken into consideration, I'm down 4 odd units. I need a good TT here to make the Giro look respectable. Or just count my losses and move onto the Dauphine.

Konovolovas went from 1.20 to 2.50 in live action because on the change in temperature. Armstrong is about to finish, probably around 40th. I still believe Menchov will make it to the top.
Right after Wiggins 2nd place, Leipheimer was @ 11

Menchov crashed with 1500m to go. Would have taken the stage win.
I'm too tired to work out my profit or loss tonight. I assume that I made a profit of under 1 unit. Could have been a lot worse. Or did I lose? I calculated a loss of about 4.31 units to start the stage. Finished with 5.20. So I think I made a profit of .89 units?
If Voeckler actually was a man last night and Wiggins didn't lose to this unknown kid, then I would have made a huge profit. But that's Gambling. You take your wins. You take your losses. Truth be told I escaped out of Jail a few times in this Giro thanks to Cavendish and then thanks to this kid tonight. Horrible Giro.

Yeah, it looks like you saved you arse too Nick? It was a horrible Giro.
If I didn't bet on the last few stages It would have been 20+ unit profit. But that's gambling. It was a horrible Giro and we are both to escape from it reasonably well. Could have been a lot worse. I could have been 30+ units down today.

I made so really good bets but many were terrible. I once jumped on a bet without looking at the stage details, a terrible mistake that I have to pay attention in the future.
I ran out of funds in the middle of the Giro due to pending bets on other sports, it shouldn't happen anymore.
At least, I had good props which saved my ass.

Well put. It was quite enjoyable to follow the action through this thread. I did make good use of your analysis for this last day of racing and made a decent day's worth of profit with 3 winning picks (matchups).
Here is a suggestion: More head-to-head bets ! You have been right on so many times when comparing two riders and analyzing their style. That's where the value is IMHO. As always, thanks for taking the time to come in here and share your knowledge about this sport. Very much appreciated.

Yeah I know that's where Head to Heads are. Don't you worry. I'll be looking at them more in the next 2 months. Don't be surprised if all I put down is head to head. With some of my money in some of my australian betting accounts i'm going to load up Pinacle and bet more H2H's.
Yeah, I figure that I'm right on most occasions when it comes to head to head. If you look at my analysis you can win some head to heads and it's good to see I have helped you both.
Expect more knowledgable posts in the coming months. Keep an eye out for Dauphine and Switzerland.

Thanks guys.
Which 3 wins did you get in the last stage?

Once I read the paragraph about who you though was fit for the time trial course, I jumped on these matchups. N1ck also helped me out as he had most of these head to head picks confirmed before the start of the trial but seeing your analysis really made me feel comfortable playing them :
Denis Menchov vs Levy Leipheimer @ 2.39
Danilo Di Luca vs Ivan Basso @ 1.588 ( this was close ... too close )
Michael Rogers vs Lance Armstrong @ 2.02
Look at these odds I got on Pinnacle. Thats what I mean by looking for value on these sites based on the perspective of people who know this sport inside out like you guys.
Heard Armstrong did not recuperate that well after his crash the other day and then learned that the TT course fit Rogers' style from you so that's all it took.
The only drawback of using this strategy is that the maximum bet is quite low and increases as time goes by so you might have to wait a bit before placing bigger bets on the head to head.
But, the thing is, it's worth it because these picks cash in much more frequently that a long shot with a rider winning the stage. I say picking the winner of a tour or stage is the fun part ( kind of like picking a horse in a race to win it all ) but the value and true prognosticating lies in the matchups.
Cheer .
