The Alps start now and I'm hoping for some serious GC action. By now you may realise I'm not much of a team Sky fan, they are too good, they ride with the best strategy and well they sometime annoy me. By default I will seldomly back a sky rider, this won't change today.
I haven't seen much from Qunintana this TDF but it is the 3rd week and he tends to come alive in the some I'll back him as my GC fav to win stage 17 along with Porte who has been probably the next best rider behind Froom if it wasn't for a couple of unfortunate events.
I think the break doesn't make it today but will back 2 riders who I assume will be break bound just in case the peloton let them get away......Majka is the solid fav for the KOM and will surely be hoping to collect a few points in this one. If the break has a chance he is a great climber to solo away in this. Alaphillpe is my other rider, he is looking for a stage win and was very unlucky the other day to have had a mechanical and fall back to the second chase group and miss out on a win.

Well we are nearing the end and we can start to draw a few conclusions. Froom will win the GC but podium spots are up for grabs....it's not a lo*k but Majka is odds on to collect the KOM. Sagan is a beast and owns the green jersey, while Yates has produced a grand 1st TdF to hold white.
The GC battle is open for spots 2-10 with many holding hopes of a top 3. I'm backing Porte to get into the top 3 and he still needs to do some work to do so. If this comes down to a GC battle on the final climb I'll back him to have the legs and look for some bonus time on the line.
I think the GC battle will take place on the final climb and that will mean the break will have a shot again. I'll back a bunch here and keep my fingers crossed the are in the early break.
Porte $10 @$7
Navarro $5 @$41
Alaphillpe $2 @$51
Pauwels $2 @$61
Vuillermoz $1 @$81
good luck all
