Mb -1.5, Ont/NB un 12.5, Sask/PEI ov 12.5 and NWT +138 and ov 12.5
Two clear favs in this field, four solid second level teams, then a cast of unknowns. As this gets rolling, I will be playing overs on the lower level teams and unders when BC or Ontario are playing. I know nothing about PEI, so to take NWT who has plenty of experience at +138 works for me. Ontario should cover 2.5 vs NB, but I recall last year, when Gratton beat Howard right out of the gate, so I will stay away from that game.

I pounded Alberta +225. As I told beamjim, I am biased here, but they are playing so well right now. They dominated the Alberta playdowns which are not easy to win. They just came off that huge win at the skins game. IMO, no team in Canada can touch them right now.
They have a very good shot at being in Sochi in 2014.
For tournament matchups I am on North Ontario -175 > Quebec and Manitoba -130 > BC.

Don't see a lot that I like this morning. I realize NS had a good start, winning their first two games, but I suspect that if this was Day 1 and BC was playing NS, BC would be -200, so to get them this morning at +105 is a must play. I think MB and NFL is a toss up so took Mb at +130. No totals stand out for me, leans only are all unders except the NO/PEI game.

Well side bets looking good so far, but treading water at the picks. Had two big ones that draw hitting the Territories over, but losing out on Howard -1.5. Awaiting lines for the night games.

Playing Sask/NWT over this morning and Ontario -2.5. It's a lot of points, but I suspect they bounce back after the game last night. They have played Desjardins five times and beaten them handliy each time.
Also playing under in the Ont game small.
Coverlane, not sure what your asking, if the there will be better quality play at the Brier or if I will do better at the Brier? I hope the answer is both.

I agree, for the price NWT is worth it and although NO is struggling, if Quebec can take Ontario to an extra end, why can't NO? Also like the home town team at +2.5 vs Koe. Only fav I like is BC.

Nothing big, too much juice in the Nfl game, but I think the Alb/Sask and Que/BC games are leaning over for me, but not a big play. NO and Ont no feel for. Good luck Ang.

beanjim -- hope the answer is both too. I gues what I was referring to was the consistency of the play and if it would be easier to predict plays in the brier

Thanks for responding Covers...it's a good question.
I think this is not as strong a Brier Field as we typically see, so there is some value to the dogs thus far. I was able to get NWT tonight at +360 and was a great shot by Howard in an extra end away from nailing Jacobs at +400. Typically dogs aren't great at the Brier, usually the cream rises to the top more so in mens play, than women's.
This week though, the favs have been no luck. Howard from Ontario is a good example. He is your perennial 9-2 team, maybe loses to one patsy during the week and perhaps a Martin or Stoughton. In the remainder of his games, he usually drills the lower teams. Presently he is 4-1, but has won every game by one point, which is an oddity for him. You could usually count on teams such as him, Martin, Stoughton, to beat the bottom feeders handily and have no problem laying -2.5. This year has not been the case so far.
So right now, I will keep my eyes peeled for some dogs and only play totals when I have a strong feel. I have been playing some of these totals when I have a luke warm feeling and its costing me money.
Two teams, that I am really intrigued to see how they play tomorrow are Nfl and NO. Both of these teams were slated to make the playoffs and are in a tough position. Do they battle back or pack it in? I have also possibly over valued Fowlers skipping ability based on what I have seen thus far.
About the only trend holding true so far this Brier, is the Territories over. 5-0 thus far. See you in the morning.
