CD Newsletter: Playoffs??? Edition

Situations and matchups are very different.

Seattle is a division rival with SF, that alone effects the line as division rivals are perceived as being a tougher game for the favorite.

Then you have the fact that Dallas will be traveling to SF on a short week for their 4th straight road game.

Then when you go through the macthup, SF is a tough one for the Cowboys. Dallas matches up well with Phily, and I would have a degree of confidence that they can go to Philly and win. I have no such confidence they can beat SF in SF. I'm not sure they can keep it close.

Now Philly and SF matchup really well. That will be a great game

One more thing to add about matchups ... SF runs crossing routes extremely well. That is basically their offense. The Cowboys do not defend that well. Now of Kearse is out for the game, they will be missing 3 starters in the secondary.

Is there a line out yet?

I'm guessing 6 or 6.5

And I would bet SF at that number

I would love to see 4 or 5 and jump on SF.  This has been a game of very little resistance from the opponent for Dallas.  SF is a different animal

Hopefully Gage is OK. What a damper on the ending to the game

Before you guys jump on SF... Take a look at their 11 game win streak, and name me a good opponent in that span.

Betonline has 4 (110). Split right down the middle between Sac and I.

It was 5 Playoff teams in there (not that means much this year)...  I think Tua was healthy for the Dolphins game.  Was Herbert healthy when they played?

I just saw the highlights, couldn't watch because of the time difference, but this didn't even look close, both teams played like they played all season.

A stat about the kicker: Prior to the game, Cowboys kickers had only missed two extra points in the franchise’s entire postseason history. So Maher will forever be in the Cowboys history books.

Speaking of Aikman, whenever I hear him speak I remember that Jeff Ross joke about him, actually this is a great set by him:

Been keeping up on the Giants via the NY tabloids. Seems they had quite the celebration after their playoff win over a very beatable Viking team.

There's even some talk of them being SB contenders

Ok what to do with Jags  How much did that 2nd half take out of them, can Etienne ground out another hundred.? Betting against Maholmes is risky business, m'ker is a combo point guard qb. Gotta think the Chiefs are on a mission and Arrowhead is one tough hf. Line can only go up and if it were to hit 9' 10 i may just have to take it and be sure to drink heavy before the start.

Tampa Bay's pewterreport.com reports that the Bucs are expected to fire OC Byron Leftwich today. Says GM Jason Licht pushed for the change mid-season but HC Todd Bowles talked him out of it. 

Depending on the size of the flags i'm taking the OVER in the Pro Bowl. 

I think it's possible the Bills may have taken Miami a little lightly with Skylar at the helm.

If you guys remember that trend I used last year and in years past....teams after facing the Ravens did not do well. They get beat up, similarly to teams after facing the Niners this year.

The Bengals just played them b2b.
