Played Steel City -6 and this was the other one that I almost committed to. I suppose it ain't going to 3.5. I'm in. Nothing wrong with the upstart old guard beating the young Cinderella. Just win baby. Playoffs? Somebody said playoffs? Maybe for the maligned Horse.

Broncos D is legit, I think Stroud is gonna look like a rook next week. Somehow Coach Payton has figured out this roster and Mr. Ciara has completely bought in, as has the entire team.

Denver is sneaky good at the moment and grabbing them +3 and +130ML makes sense before the line moves in their favor.

I will have no choice but to bet the Patriots at home next week vs. the Chargers. Surely Bill & Bill still want to win a game and not be tankers. Diego is done. Stick a fork in 'em.

Getty--The lead story online right now in the Boston Globe is an article by Dan Shaughnessy speculating on whether the Patriots are tanking. I offer no opinion on that but it is interesting reading. Good luck on all your selections.

 Looks like the bookies reacted accordingly, before the game yesterday the line was -1.5 Eagles, now the line opened -2 49ers @ Bet365, it will probably move to -3, if more money come in on SF. This looks like the perfect let down spot for the Eagles, they should pay the price for the effort they put in last night.

I suppose that the Chargers lost the game before it ever began last night. As much as Brandon Staley boasts about his defensive expertise as a play caller, they started the game with 12 men on the field on defense. 

Looking at the Bears injury report, they look to be just about as healthy as last week.

Center Lucas Patrick missed the 2H of last week's game. He practiced Friday and Saturday and is probable. 

Rookie CB Stevenson will miss tonight. He's 2nd string and also plays some nickel and dime. The kid is super aggressive, leads the Bears in penalties. Shouldn't be misses.

I don't expect the Bears to lay down because they're on prime time, and it's a revenge game. Justin Fields got hurt vs the Vikings in week 6. He's kind of in audition mode for the Bears, as the endless rumors surround him and his future with the Bears.

The Vikings are 8-3, the Bears are 3-8, the Vikings beat the Bears in week 6. Books only giving the Vikings an easy -3 at home...should be a tough game I'd think.

Just remember, the Bears are masters at supposedly "tanking". If you back em, they might win in every stat category known to man and still not cover. They indeed are very good at that.

Goodbye Frank Reich. With Staley and Rivera gone at the end of season we'll pass the flickering candle of unlikely hope on to Dennis Allen.

As far as candles of unlikely hope go, we can go ahead and pass one to any team in the nfc south who wins the division. Pertaining to getting anywhere in the playoffs. 

I was being a little sarcastic when speaking of the Bears and "tanking". 

But they definitely don't know how to close games. Look at the Denver and Detroit games in particular. My theory, is that OC Luke Getsy is bad when playing with a lead. To his defense, the Bears rarely have played with a lead the last 2 seasons.

Either way, as a Bears fan you are always on edge, no matter how much of a lead there is.

Having bet on the Bills, I too was subjected by the refs to that dark and unwelcome intrusion. I did not enjoy it. On the other hand, later betting on the Ravens, I found it to be a delightful viewing experience as the refs repeated the same unspeakable act, tucking it firmly to the Chargers for three solid hours. Who could have guessed that such unholy things would become such a predictably common part of NFL games ?

OK I've done very well lately so I'll put some expendable income on da Bears +1.5 for the 1H. If it wins I'll thank Sac, if it loses I'll blame him. Sounds fair.
