Love this story. BWS mentioned Robert's blunders earlier. Compound this with the Rays pulling Blake Snell last year, and maybe analytics should stay far away from pitchers.
Keep em for shifts, match-ups, and other technicalities.

The Panthers and Giants went over if it was one of Ibcake's soccer lines, but went under if the 1H was game one of the WS
Same OC who coached LSU to all time scoring records in 2019. Burrows in college > Darnold as a 4 year pro. Usually the change of scenery narrative is bullshit. Most NFL scouts know exactly who you are and what you will be after just 2 seasons in the league.

Speaking of shifts... was it me, or did I see more hitters able to beat the shift and go to spots beating the shift. I remember many times where a hitter hit a regular liner or grounder to the vacancy left at 2nd or SS that would have been routine plays without the shift. I think save for a few leftys hitting to the shallow RF 2nd baseman position, not many shifts worked

By the #'s, shifts work in the long run. But the data is 99% of the time gathered against the hitters regular swings, and those are mostly hard swings.
In the playoffs as you mentioned, in a 2 strike count those same hitters shortened their swings. It was a thing of beauty imo. Reminded me of the old days.
Kinda like in tennis when a player lobs or does a drop shot. It's not a sexy smash, but has It's place.
Baseball has gotten away from a lot of the intricacies ever since analytics stepped in.

Stupid is as stupid does. Philly coach accepts a penalty to make it a 3rd and 15 from the LV 43. Had he declined the penalty it would have been 4th and 3 and LV already had their punt team on the field. Of course LV compete a 40 yard pass on the 3rd down play. Can’t make this shit up

Looks like the "fuck Gruden" game is gonna last longer than just one game. KC is horrible, and Mahomes got hurt. Should be a 2 team race in the afc west between the Bolts and Raiders.

@Getty3 I don’t believe Fields will ever be a quality NFL QB. The fact that his HC is Nagy and their O-line sucks makes his chances at success non existent
That is true. It is easy to forget that both Fields and Hurts had to transfer in college to get a starting spot. I think people are too quick to assume every athletic dual threat QB is going to be good. Just like the old prototypes, many of them are not.
