Up a little over 44 units for the year (for the auditors who care soooooo much) and in this particular play, I will be playing just over 1/3 of that here:
Needless to say....this will no doubt be my biggest bet of the year. I jumped on this mid last week and wanted to get this out there now rather than later.....
New England Patriots ML (-130)
Very busy but writeup will come soon.

This one will be a rare rare gem brotha. I feel the spread could come into play next Sunday so that’s why I took the ML. It’s now at -145,-150......I don’t think it comes down either. As for the spread I think it stays at -2-5/-3. I could see this one ending with a 1 or 2 point win by the Pats. Good luck brotha.

That's strange. I was drawn to the same conclusion, was planning to only take the ML if I'm going with Patriots. Seems like they really may have a big struggle and win by 1 or 2.
There's also Chomp who has 2 units on Rams +3 & 2 units on Patriots ML playing a very sharp double sided game. And even lancer mentioned something about Patriots winning but not covering. Europa has a stat about Patriots being 2-5 ATS in last 7 Superbowls.
Don Juan in last years Superbowl thread pointed out that Belichick Superbowl games are often very tight because he's a counter puncher who likes to see what you're up to and adjust accordingly.
However if you really believe they're going to win and not cover you'll probably have an opportunity to take them at a better line live. They'd most likely even be trailing at some point. I'd go small pre game wager and place more on a better live line.

hopefully not 1.
got -1.5 and -2.5
but i feel like Pats might be down a score so that'll be my opportunity to take em live and hedge those spreads
Sip on that plus money honey!

You do you....I will do me Chief. All week we will hear everybody’s stance and plan as to how they wanna attack this one. I don’t care about stats and trends and all that other bs. Many of those go out the window simply because these are two different teams playing this year in the biggest game of the season. People finally saw last week in BOTH what ive seen for the last decade and that’s that refs can and will dictate games. And no, it’s not coincidence. Players and coaches can too......even if it means them losing. My opinion of course though. On paper, the Rams are better than the Patriots. There is no denying that. Experience in THIS GAME though....that will be huge imo. Coaching and leadership will be huge as well. Legacy too.....On paper, the Chargers and Chiefs were better than the Patriots too but we all know what happen. This is the super bowl and as great as trends are, they don’t weigh that much anymore for me considering the NFL has changed its approach the last decade. I will have an interesting writeup later in the week that will explain my play above and explain why the Rams, after their gift against the Saints, will pay the ultimate price next Sunday. Stay tuned

You think it will be Patriots/Falcons part 2? I’m not so sure. I think it’s close all throughout and a small mistake or a huge risk will win this game. I also feel the refs and yes, Jared Goff will have a lot to do with how this plays out as well. Much like the Super Bowl where Cam Newton just stood there, ball underneath his waist exposed all game, just waiting for the Broncos to rip it. Much like when Cam fumbled and didn’t even try to recover it. The press conference told it all too because he couldn’t believe he had to do that but because he won MVP that year and got his under armour endorsement and oikos commercials....it’s a good trade off right? Haaa! Goff will be much more progressional but imo he couid be the guy to give it away much like Matt Ryan, Russell Wilson and Cam Newton all did. All good qbs have done it including Brady.....For me, this one is about legacy....much like Manning in Super Bowl 50. We’ll see what happens.....

Brotha, all good. No worries. My play is already in and we haven’t even heard the media try to build these rams up yet. This week all the talking heads will push the rams. Maybe the ML goes down from the -130 I got but I highly doubt it. One week to go.

nah i dont see any of these team going down 2 or 3 scores in the 1st half and the other team comes back in 2nd half. i see something similar to Brady's 1st Super Bowl or the Seahawks/pats. gonna be more back and forth scoring to me so i see some good opportunity to get Pats when they are down maybe not once but twice if they trade points
Sip on that plus money honey!

One of my favorite things to do is superbowl parlays. When u know whos going to be in the superbowl for two weeks that gives you plenty of time to stack a moneymaking superbowl pick with college basketball, nba and nhl games. For a fat payout.Just play the Patriots moneyline parlay with some other games for several two team parlays. U can get + 200 or more.

Somebody asked me today, why not take the Patriots at -3? Well even though I think they have a good shot at covering that, I got Patriots ML at -130. I took it because of all the steam we’ve seen from -1 to -3 Patriots. So in playing over a 1/3 of my roll accumulated this year on this Patriots ML play, would it have been worth it to play the spread instead so that I could pull in an extra 1.6 units? For some it very well could be but for me, getting in at -115 (-3 Pats) isn’t worth it when I got in at -130 Patriots ML. I say -115 because I wouldn’t have been playing the spread until late this week anyways and I figure that’s the estimated price we get on the spread. With the ML though, I knew at -130, it would be hard to get any better considering I waited a few days from original posting of the opening lines.
I bring all this up because with what we’ve seen so far in the playoffs, it would not surprise me if we got a middle in the Patriots winning but winning by less than 3. The books would love that! If one wants to play it safe, go with patriots ML or Rams spread at this point especially if it’s at +3. I’d love to see the Patriots win with ease but at the price I got them at ML, I jumped in. Less worry. The game still has to be played though.....I have the exact amount Id need to come in at if there is a live bet available on the other side so I’ve given myself options. Strong information came my way from a reputable source and with what I’ve seen these playoffs, it reaffirmed my stance on the Patriots getting it done. We’ll see in a week!

I’m by no means trying to persuade anyone here. I don’t do that crap. I’m simply stating that if one like the Pats ML, you may have missed your “value” boat. If one likes the Rams ML and spread you could prolly wait to see if the line goes to 3.5 but I don’t see that happening. This is gonna be a very interesting Super Bowl because of what happened last year with the Pats and what happened last weekend in the conference championship games. Can’t wait.

Good luck Achilles. Looking forward to the write up. I already took a position when line first came out at Patriots -1 -110. May add more on the ML later this week. I really like Patriots to get it done this weekend. Too many people throwing around trends and stats around here. You simply can't deny Brady's determination to win. Multiple SB experiences will make a difference this Sunday. I think Patriots win out a close one.

For those who are not blind, and know the Illuminati exists:
BELICHICK IS 66 YEARS OLD (6 + 6)
BRADY WEARS NUMBER 12 (6 + 6)
= 6 + 6
EACH GOING FOR RING NUMBER 6 AS PATRIOTS
= 6 + 6 + 6
Also, Belichick's 1st ring as a Patriot came against........yup.........the RAMS.
Now, he will have bookend Super Bowl wins against the same team. The same way he began his dynasty, he will end it.......
His 1st ring was in 2001 (played on Feb 3, 2002)
SB 53 will be played on Feb 3, 2019..........exactly 18 years AFTER his 1st SB win.....
6 + 6 + 6 = 18
Again, the Patriots win.......

There’s this misperception that the O line of the Patriots can’t handle a good defensive line. You have arguably the best o line coach in NE and you have a unit that knows each other well. They have kept Brady clean the entire year. You keep hearing about Suh and Donald and as great as they are, they’ve disappeared at times against good o lines. Take the Bears game for instance when they played the Rams. The Rams tried rushing their front and playing coverage but didn’t fare well with that approach. How many times did the Rams get to Trubisky? ONCE. And this was Trubiskys first game back after shoulder issues and missing missing two games. I could argue that the Patriots o line is better than the Bears both in run and in pass protection so come Sunday, how are the Rams getting to Brady? Are they gonna rush their front and put extra DBs in or are they gonna bring pressure? This will be what determines the game imo.
The Patriots will dictate the pace yet again by either bringing in extra tight ends to pound the ball or they can go hurry up and exploit an overrated secondary. James White, Sonny Michel, Develin, they all serve a purpose. So if you wanna key in on the run you gotta bring extra guys up in the box. WHEN the Rams do that, there’s this guy named Gronk who will show yet again why he’s still one of the best to ever do it at his position. People think this guy is banged up....the Chiefs did last weekend and he burned them when it mattered most. If I recall, Gronk has been injured in two of the super bowl runs the Pats have had and if I recall this is one of the rare times the Patriots have both Edelman AND Gronk available in the big game together? McDaniels, Brady and Belly will break this Rams team down to the core and like Louis Riddick said (one of the few who knows what the h@ll he’s talking about), the Patriots will expose what you can’t do well.
As for the Rams offense....everybody is talking about Gurley as they should. The Rams will try to run the ball but what have the Patriots done well over the years in the playoffs? Stop the run and make their opposition one dimensional. If people didn’t watch the first half of last weeks AFC championship, the Patriots shut down the KC offense and Mahomes. They got Mahomes off his spot and they try to do the same to Goff. For me, the Rams and Chiefs mirror each other pretty well so unless McVay draws something up completely different, you can expect the Rams to showcase Gurley early and often setting up play action where the Rams have feasted. I truly feel the Patriots feel they can contain Gurley in the ground and if they can that’s when you see Belly at his best. He will take away the Rams best receiver just like he did Hill. I’ve said this for a while.....Cooper Kupp was the straw that stirred this offense. Cooks is great but the Patriots know him well considering he played there. Woods may be the guy the Rams try and showcase so what will be interesting is seeing where Gilmore lines up. My guess is that Gilmore marks Wood and the Patriots double Cooks.
Brady d@mn near had 3 picks last game and when you pair that with him fumbling late in last years super bowl, you know he will come out in a zone. Goff will have to be great on 3rd downs and their special teams will have to outplay the Patriots like they did the Saints. I saw what the Bears did to Goff on primetime and one can make excuses that it was the “weather” that had a part in that. Ok.....but look at what the Bears did to that o line. You can expect the Patriots to mirror that. This is gonna be a chess match and expect both coaches to pull out all stops come Sunday. Special teams will play a huge role in this one but what tilts the needle for me is the everchanging adjustments the Patriots can make and the fact that there is nothing Brady hasn’t seen. Can we say the same for Goff and McVay? Not so sure. More to come throughout the week.

Im placing $6,666.66 on the Pats because of this very post!
