which part? Partnering with a dude who pretends to be a woman or the backlash that has ensued because of it?

The funny part of it now is, that the lgbtq community is also pissed at bud for not sticking with Mulvaney/supporting their original agenda when coming out with the ad.
No one likes that beer for several reasons now. And like Stu said, yes it's a shitty beer to begin with.

I mean, it's bud light. I don't know why anyone would choose to drink a shitty domestic light beer with all the good beers and micro breweries that now exist in just about every region. If I did drink shitty domestic light beers though. If I did drink shitty bud light, I'm not gonna all of a sudden stop over this. This whole thing is ridiculous. Manufactured outrage.
"Oh my God, trannies drink beer too? You mean they drink the same beer I drink? Does that make me gay? Cuz I'm definitely not gay. I'm not drinking those beers anymore. Gonna find myself a different shit beer to drink."
I'm just gonna throw it out there. If you were drinking Bud light before this, you're more gay than Dylan. What, these bitches out here tryna watch their waist lines? Drink whiskey like a real man. I respect dudes who drink person sodas like claws more than dudes that drink light beer.

Person=s l u t. S lut sodas. person waters. I respect a dude who drinks claws and truly more than a dude who drinks light beer but the biggest chumps of all is the type of dude that takes a story like this and is like, "That's it! I'm not drinking that anymore!" I don't give to shits about what the next dude drinks, or if that dude puts on a skirt and tries to be a chick. As long as they aren't competing in sports against biological women, or walking around getting in fist fights with biological women, I really don't care.

@StumpTownStu
Budweiser created a special beer can, to specifically celebrate this dude who feels pretty. It wasn't like this dude made a comment about how he liked Bud Light and then they acknowledged him. That's not what happened. Their marketing team initiated this, and intentionally chose to go to great lengths to celebrate his "transformation", which you have to admit, is a pretty controversial issue. They intentionally injected their brand into a controversial issue, and took a definitive stand on that controversial issue, essentially picking a side, which by most accounts, is not the same side as most of their core consumer demographic. Now they are suffering the blowback from that moronic decision.

A can. One can. You following me? One can. I know dudes are old and are unaware of how promotion through these social media "partnerships" works but I'll school you, boomers. A social media influencer builds up a following. A company cuts a sponsorship deal with said influencer. These aren't the type of deals we think of a la Air Jordans or something. There often paid but you're talking relative pennies compared to these companies advertising budgets. They say, "Hey, we'll cut you a check. Make posts about our product on your social media platforms." There was no planned ad campaign. There was no plan to make this Dylan character the face of bud light. Companies will often have a multitude of similar deals in place with influencers across all platforms. It's cheaper than paying for commercials. The young adults of today aren't watching traditional broadcast TV. They aren't buying print periodicals. This is a big part of advertising in the modern world. This story was nothing until national media caught wind of it and made it something. Now it's the story that won't go away. Personally, i'm tired of seeing the dudes face.

I guess I just really don't give a damn if a dude wants to be a chick. I don't have to understand it to just simply not give a damn. I'm vehemently opposed to them competing in women's sports but I don't give two shits about them drink but light. And yet motherfuckers are out here outraged. There are much more serious things going on in the world that could use some of this collective, united outrage.

@bluecompass
One can. They weren't doing a national rollout of cans with Dylan's picture on it. Somebody at Budweiser had one can made up as a gift. If you look at the post Dylan made, even the cans in the post are just regular Bud light cans. There was no ad campaign planned. An ad campaign defeats the whole purpose of "partnering" with a social media influencer. The idea is you pay them relatively little money in exchange for them making social media posts.

Like I said, if you look at the now famous post staring Dylan, you'll see a bunch of regular Bud Light cans. It was such a big "planned ad campaign" that they didn't even make the effort to print this shmuck up a sixer.

Stu, I hear what you're saying and your stance of "above it all" is valid but I think you're missing the point. And, its not just Bud Light thats tarnishing their target demo. Its happening more and more with companies going woke and forcing all this shit down everyones throat when most people, like you said earlier, could give a shit if a dude wants to be a chick, but if there is a form of protest against it, this is it. Are idiots gonna take to the streets like the left does on the daily in 22-23 no, but simply not giving these idiots another dollar and watching them suffer financially brings a smile to my face. Go woke Go broke. Now, GET OFF MY LAWN

Yea me neither. To each is own.
But, I'm guessing you don't have kids, I don't either. But if we did, they're teaching gay shit in schools to very young kids. How to suck dick and shit. I've only heard horror stories, my friends kids coming home crying and confused about what they just "learned".
My brother is paying out his ass to send his 3 kids to Catholic school. When his son asked him what a tampon was, cause it was in a machine in the "boys" bathroom, he got him the fuck out.

That's the thing though, bro. They weren't forcing anything down anyone's throat. This wasn't some national campaign. This Dylan character made a social media post. This is how these "partnerships" work. You pay an "influencer" to post about your product on social media. It's relatively cheap, ultra targeted marketing. The whole concept is you're literally not trying to force anything down anyone's throat. That the only people who the marketing reaches is the people who follow said influencer. However, the national media caught wind of it and frankly, in today's world, the national media makes it's money by fomenting rage. So they plastered it everywhere. That wasn't Budweiser. This was some since reassigned or all out fired marketing execs feeble attempt at tapping in a segment of the market. The alphabet gang drinks too. And the fact that people are like, "Gay people can't drink my beer, I'm drinking something else!" is fucking hilarious to me. And the fact that they were drinking Bud Light to begin with is also hilarious.

Also, if you're nephew is old enough to be in a school that necessitates a tampon machine, then he should know what a tampon is. He shouldn't even have to ask. This whole "teaching how to suck dick" narrative comes from a recent trend of parents seeking to ban certain books from school libraries. These are books being assigned as curriculum. They were just books available to check out. I'm sure there have been some teachers somewhere who have assigned these books as curriculum but to high school children in the verge of being young adults who should be old enough to process such concepts. This whole story just furthers my point. A list of books start to circulate on social media. One of the books features a scene of fellatio, in a few frames in the style of a graphic novel, no pun intended. Those few frames is what goes viral. It circulates on Twitter, on Facebook. And out of that comes 'they're teaching kids to suck dick".
Don't get me wrong. There are plenty of whack job teachers skewing from the base curriculum on which they should be focused but there isn't some national "they're teaching kids to suck dick" epidemic, which is what media would have you believe. Frankly, if we're talking about Elementary and Middle School, then yes, these books don't belong. If we're talking about high school kids then they are at a age when they should be afforded the freedom to decide what they want to read. The truly sad part is we live in an era where parents don't take an interest in their children's curriculum until they see a viral Facebook meme.

Taking a definitive stance on a controversial social issue is just a really, really, really bad idea if you're a large corporation. And don't tell me they didn't take a stance - they did. By creating a commemorative can, they essentially celebrated this woke madness that their core customer base wants nothing to do with. There are really just 2 "don'ts" in marketing - don't piss off your current customer base and don't piss off your potential customer base. The dumbasses at Budweiser managed to do both. And now they're paying the price for it.

I don't know how many times I can say it. They made one can as a personal gift. It was the act of one ad exec. She commissioned one can as gift. That's not a stance. I don't know. A dude wants to be a chick. Whatever. I guess I'm not sitting around looking to be enraged so, in turn, I'm not enraged. This is not the stuff of national news. This shit is a farce.

There's no way this was just the act of 1 marketing exec - that's just not how companies work. You think they didn't have meetings about this? Strategize about this? And making a deal with a social media influencer, however inexpensive or irrelevant, is taking a stance with that person and what they stand for. That's why corporations are careful about who they sign for endorsement deals, and why they put all kinds of escape clauses in their contracts. And I honestly don't see much enragement. I just see a few hundred thousand consumers that said "You know what, it looks like this beer company is aligning itself with something that I don't agree with, so I'm just going to give my dollars to a different beer company." - is that enragement? Maybe there have been some protests somewhere that I don't know about, but I'm not seeing anyone marching in the streets against Budweiser.

It was one exec spearheading it and one exec signing off on it. Sure, there was other people working on it but this debacle was essentially the act of one woman. I can look her name up is you like. It have been covered pretty extensively.

bottom line Stu, telling people they were gay for drinking bud light before when I and others in fact drank it when choices were limited ( ballgames, concerts etc ) isn't an argument. me deciding to not give them another dollar is a choice I'm very much comfortable with. ask the employees of BUD who's ESOP and 401k plan consists of BUD stock to some degree how they feel about a unilateral decision if in fact it was ONE exec. I highly doubt that
