Looks like Joe Biden has lost his 14th best ranking....as he goes out the door a big looser..

An exclusive Daily Mail conducted by James Johnson, cofounder of J.L. Partners , called it a ‘diabolical’ result for Biden.  The poll found Biden was less impressive than Jimmy Carter,.... 1006 registered voters were asked to rank the last nine presidents in order, from best to worst, Biden came at the very bottom of the table, making him the worst in 47 years.

Some 44 % placed him as one of the worst two, while only 14% placed him in the top two, giving him a net score of 30 points underwater....That's worse than Nixon..

He stills has over 40 days left ..Come on Joe you can drive those numbers lower..I have faith in you   I know you can do it..

Show us how low you can go....

'I was glad that Jimmy Carter lived long enough to see that "Worst President Ever" Trophy taken away by Barack Obama.'

Biden has now taken that trophy.

    @darkhorse12

Fake poll they took and combined three different pools (per your reference ) One is two years old and the other is three yeas old ..the last one was done by professors ..............professors lol ........this is a bias BS poll .....

In compiling its rankings, U.S. News averaged presidential rankings from three separate sources: Siena College's 2022 Presidential Expert Poll,, C-SPAN's 2021 and the conducted by professors at the University of Houston and Coastal Carolina University in 2024.

    Nice try ..but no cigar..

Joseph Biden is a worthless grifter who would sell out his own country for a lottery ticket. His legacy is not “teetering,” it’s in the sewer of history.    Biden will leave office as the 'worst president' in modern history, according to voters in devastating poll https://trib.al/Wgtog9y (UK / USA)

so much to the scholars and the #14th ranked Prez ever , keep repeating it Fusbah , KellyM peace_5

Just stop it. Biden isn't that old. Cornpop's crew definitely had some switch blades along with the chains and broken pool cues. Not to be outdone, Biden's boys had brass knucks and spiked clubs.

Pierce is a somewhat complicated figure.  Having just lost his son in the train accident and his wife refusing to join him in D.C. and with the nation moving closer to war -- he had a lot of baggage and domestic issues to deal with.  He also did not do his legacy any favors in the modern day because of his stance of seemingly pro-slavery, no matter how you view it -- as a compromise or a state's rights issue.  You can make the case that this led to him not getting the next nomination.  But when you follow him up with Buchanan and Douglas, you have to wonder what the Democrats were really thinking at the time.  How can they distance theirselves from Douglas's very pro-slavery stance at the time.

But when you come into power while the nation seems in a quiet state but looking back was clearly headed into turmoil, you have to ask if that is a true gauge for a legacy.  But the case can be made for him as somewhat ineffective.  But after years of drink and the rearview-looking that can be done, I think it 'seems' worse than it was at the time.

Buchanan was largely seen as not doing enough to prevent what a lot of folks saw coming for the nation.  But largely has the same issues as Pierce with his legacy and the seemingly ineffectiveness of it.  When it had become more and. more evident that th nation was fracturing, I am not sure what he could do to prevent it.  Even Lincoln -- the vaunted one that most put at the very top -- could not do it.

In a Nation that was largely had very minor issues to deal with compared to modern Presidents (other than the singular issue that every one of them had been hoping to avoid for decades) I cannot judge them as harshly as modern ones.  The more modern ones have many more issues that can have a longer term effect on the nation and even the world.

Nixon is largely remembered for simply Watergate -- which he did not even need to do.  He was going to win in a blowout, regardless.  But he did far, far more good domestically and internationally to be considered anywhere near the bottom.

I can very easily make the case for Trump to have been the best President in modern times and that includes Reagan.  Simply by looking at the economy when they took over and the worldview of the USA when they took over.  Then compare those two things to when they left office.

Carter obviously did very little to prevent what was going on economically on the domestic front.  I also dock him a lot on growing the government, solely with the Department of Education, etc.

So, with modern guys having to deal with many more issues than older guys on both domestic and international fronts -- Carter, Obama, and Biden rank at the very bottom for me.

The economic issues and the loss of respect globally would be enough.  But Obama and Biden were the very definition of diviseness for the nation -- and that is never a good thing.  Then to mention that they both made social issues into political ones was not good.

But, yes, you can make a case for Buchanan and Pierce; I just do not based on the fewer issues they did not handle well.

Others may be more polarizing -- for example, Trump, Lincoln, both Adams, Tyler, and even Jefferson.  But effectiveness alone, or lack of it, put the others at the bottom.

This is true and a point many people miss ..as you say because of Watergate . Nixon was a damn good President.

    @SarasotaSlim

President Bill Clinton's eulogy dwelled on Nixon's great accomplishments, particularly in foreign affairs, rather than on his constitutional crimes, remarking "May the day of judging President Nixon on anything less than his entire life and career come to a close."

Obama and Biden were the very definition of diviseness for the nation

    Trump is not divisive? an_timeout

I’m a progressive or center left Independent “ yes I’ve supported a R now and then “ and I always have been. I’m old enough to remember ( 11) the Kennedy/Nixon TV debate that were as left & right as it could get…..Who could have known ? . During all these years I have disagreed with Republicans on many things, “Vietnam was a big one “ but I didn’t hate them, and I don’t think they hated me. It wasn’t personal, it was a disagreement about policy at “least in my feelings & no I didn’t protest in the streets  “ and even when  Reagan or Bush was in office I wasn’t worried about anything illegal happening in the White House, Nixon notwithstanding, or the possibility of a preemptive nuclear strike. I thought the previous presidents were sane and had surrounded themselves with sane people to help them make the best decisions possible for the whole country , especially under difficult circumstances.

What’s different with Trump is his divisive rhetoric and continual lying. He has no regard for the truth, and feels anyone who disagrees with him is an idiot and traitor to be dealt with harshly. While I didn’t agree Republicans in the past, I truly have great distain “ as I’m sure you can tell” for Trump and all his MAGA followers for all the reasons any sane person would, and the fact  that Trump, after saying all the hateful lies he has said, to become president again tells me how screwed up this country really is. He alone has unleashed such hatred and bigotry that has to go back to the civil war to feel this political climate!

For many years Republican Party has long had a Dark Side. McCarthyism, for example, was a manifestation of the GOP’s dark side, but it was seen, at least in retrospect, to be something of an aberration and the party moved on. What’s different about the Trump era is the degree to with the Dark Side has taken over the party…..It impossible to be supportive of this type of governance…

And it's still A BETTER OPTION than the last four years

Awesome how it's just bypassed like none of the garbage ever happened. The complete rot put upon the country.

Don't need anymore history lessons. We are living in one right now.

What’s different about the Trump era is the degree to with the Dark Side has taken over the party

Define exactly what you mean here by 'Dark Side'.  Is it just that you do not agree with their policies and the direction they want to take the country?  Therefore, it becomes 'the Dark Side'?

how can someone consider themselves a progressive and a center left independent?  To me this makes zero sense as I am independent myself, once a democratic voter that was pushed away from the crazy progressive policies but would never consider myself a center right independent.  You can be one or the other but not both, right?  So you can be independent but agree with progressive policies or you can be a progressive and never agree on anything center or right which has been past practice

Maybe this is groundbreaking news, you would be the first progressive that actually looks at conservative policies and considers them.  The way the party has worked since Obama (who started this division of the country in '08) is if anyone steps outside the box is cut off.  If you publicly speak against the progressive party, you will be canceled and it's worked since the media is controlled by the left.

If you are old enough to remember the Kennedy/Nixon debate, then you also know how divided this country was during Vietnam and it hasn't been as divided since until this Trump/Biden/Harris go around.  It wasn't divided with Reagan/Carter or Mondale.  It wasn't GHWB/ Dukakis, maybe you could say it was divided with Clinton/GHWB but I don't remember all the hate that was spewed back then like it is today.  It is entirely possible that one party loses their way with reality and just throws up a couple bricks for a candidate which is what recently just happened.  Joe Biden wasn't going to step aside knowing the party was fractured just like GHWB wasn't going to step aside for the 1992 election

While both sides were all in on the stopping communism Nixon ran on a platform to shut it down, but instead he continued the war for almost six more years! I’m add if Goldwater had his way he would have nuked them. I do believe Johnson didn’t want his legacy to be that of a presidential war loser but had not McNamara and the pentagon not feed him continual lies he may have pursued an earlier end. I also be believe Nixon went around Johnson and sabotaged his attempts to get a treaty
