Sanctions from the international community is certainly an option.
Unfortunately, by the time they become an effective tool in stopping the Assad regime there will be no civilians left in Syria.

I don't have a firm opinion on what he should because I don't have all of the necessary information at my disposal in order to form a conclusion.  That's why he's president.  He needs to make tough choices and live with them.  I believe that it really depends on what Trump thinks about Assad personally and whether he cares about replacing his regime.  I don't think Trump is going to make any kind of public statement on his position so at this time I can only go by the news that's reporting troops being moved into Syria.

Now we need our allies to step up.
Assad should be pressed in the Hague for war crimes of using chemical weapons that was flown from that base with that plane to kill those humans with that weapon. And be tried for his actions.

Although I can understand Russia's problem hard to sell a missle defense system that can not stop a weapon that has been around for a quarter of a century. Was not like we just deployed the tomahawk cruise missle.

Predictably, there is some pisssing and moaning going on about the tomahawk strike. 

Hearing a lot of politicians whine that the President should have went to Congress before acting ... I'm sure that hearing Maxine Waters opinion on this is important 

Not many detractors seem to have an opinion as to the proper course of action.
Much easier to complain after the facts

Assad is Russia's little baby and although Trump probabaly  wants to be the big boy on the block and solve the problem himself I think he be better off enlisting the aid of the international community, Now putting sanctions on Syria would be no good as the people there got nothing to withhold, the pressure should be put on Putin himself. If Trump can convince enough nations to impose sanctions on Russia so they really hurt or lift sanctions if Russia cooperates in taking out Assad maybe it would help, BUT Trump needs the international community to back him or it would be a useless endeavor and what we should have learned from previous endeavors like putting boots on the ground or airstrikes will just create more problems down the road. Force Russia to clean up the mess left by Assad and with international guidance put someone in power that everyone can agree on... this may be a pipe dream but it is my veiw

 As for that attack last night I think it was just a lot of posturing and showmanship by Trump and accomplished d1ck all. The Russians were given advance warning that the attack was coming so they pulled all their jets and men away and probabaly the Syrians followed suit. From what I seen on news broadcasts the Tomahawks did minimal damage to the airstrips and Syria were likely using the base the next day

You keep asking what Trump should do. I really don't know Hugh. He is the one with access to the Intel and I will trust his decisions regarding Syria. The only opinion that I have is that a "boots on the ground" incursion/conflict should be avoided. I have no problem with last night's air strike on the Syrian base.

I haven't been hearing the news reports about politicians moaning about the air strike. Jim Nantz hasn't mentioned it at all.

True, but us not having the Intel does not stop people from criticizing after the fact, so why should it stop them (not everyone) from sharing an opinion before the fact?

I do a lot of business with guys from Syria, both muslims and christians, who are now in the States.
Yesterday I spent a lot of time talking with them, getting their opinions/views.

It is amazing how different they see things compared to what the media here reports.
