Texas judge rules woman can have an abortion for non-viable pregnancy despite 6 week abortion ban.  Baby isn't expected to survive because of birth defect.  But no abortion could endanger woman's ability to have a baby in future pregnancy.  This case shows why abortion is vital healthcare that should be based on medical instead of political reasons.  Unexpected complications can occur at any time during risky pregnancy.  American medical association supports no time limit to abortion.  In countries where abortion is decriminalized such as Canada, abortion rate is lower than in the US.

Texas supreme court denies woman an abortion despite threat to her life.  Republican Collins calls decision terrible.  Democrat Warren warns that if republicans have their way nationally, only people who can afford to travel to other countries can get the medical care they need.

Trump brags about overturning Roe versus Wade. But restricting abortions has negative consequences for the US.  More unwanted children, poverty, domestic violence and maternal mortality.

Overturning Roe vs Wade only put it in states hands and not the federal governments. It was unconstitutional for federal govt. to control in the first place.

And several states put it on the ballot and THE PEOPLE decided.

That is called democracy. 

Rogue supreme court is out of touch with majority of Americans.  Pro choice side won in every state that held a referendum on abortion.  Undemocratic for anti-abortion laws to be passed in states with majority support for pro choice.  Restrictions make abortions more risky and expensive but doesn't reduce need for abortion because it is vital healthcare.

 States partisan screw things up all the time and that is why the federal government got involved in the first place. Democracy only works properly when it serves all the interests of society and removes religious and partisan aspects from decision making. I think the SCOTUS totally screwed up and in the process it took away basic rights from women in many states where the reasons for making laws are based on erroneous religious beliefs. If people kept their personal religion in their home and lived by example and from kindness to others instead of forcing their beliefs onto the general public, society would be a much better place.

I find it quizzical how Christ taught to love others to support and do acts of kindness as a means of social interaction and to not judge, but then the religious majorities do the exact opposite because people cannot allow others to exist and to love them as they are. People want to use religion to force their partisan views down the throats of everyone and in the process they are for sure not following their faith and the precepts taught by Christ.

Trump claims credit for "miracle" of overturning Roe versus Wade.  Now thousands of women must flee home states to seek abortions.  Many have been forced into unwanted motherhood.  Doctors can be charged with crimes if they help desperately ill patients.  Child rape victims are refused abortions.  Women may be prosecuted for miscarriages.  They are forced to carry dying babies to term.  Defying majority support for pro choice, some states seek greater restrictions.  Clearly, a second Trump term would be a disaster for reproductive rights.

The sky is falling! 

Since overturning of Roe, nearly 65,000 pregnancies from rape have occurred in states with abortion bans according to Journal of American medical association.  But vast majority of victims aren't able to get abortions despite laws allowing for rape exceptions.  Despite polls showing 70% of adults saying abortion should be legal if pregnancy is the result of rape.  No other healthcare is reserved only for people who can prove a crime. It is cruel to force victims to suffer more. That is an unethical way to practice medicine.

Trump didn't sign a law on abortion, all he did was appoint judges to the supreme who voted on this.  Since then, these same conservative judges have sided with the liberal ones more than you think.  Right now there are 4 judges born in the 50's or earlier, that will be a huge turnover that will probably come about over two different presidents

but isn't that the way it was framed?  No one party, no one side.  Trump did threaten to sign a national ban according to democrats.org but everyone knows it's just bragging.  It will never, ever ever happen and everyone knows it.  In fact this maybe the ONLY thing Biden can run on, the abortion.  Name one other thing Joe did he can run on.  He didn't make the UAW strike go away, but they endorsed him anyway.  Gas is only coming down because its an election year, wait till 2025 when your in line for an electric car that you cant charge without a grid crash.  He's looking at Turkey with a 45% interest rate and thinks we aren't so bad.  

Look at the other side, taxes will go down.  Interest rates, gas prices will go down.  Big mac prices will go down.  Orange will be the new again.  But its not all rainbows no matter who wins, 50% of this country hates the other side.  Rodney King said it best but we cant just all get along

New York times reveal that Trump supports a 16 weeks federal ban on abortion if he is re-elected.  He is trying to take away women rights while Biden is working to protect them.  Trump brags about overturning Roe versus Wade.  Putting women lives in danger.  Unleashing cruelty and chaos across the US.

After Roe reversal, anti-abortion movement is a threat to reproductive healthcare and in vitro fertilization.  Recently, Alabama supreme court declares embryos are unborn children worthy of protection.  Negative consequence is that IVF clinics cannot operate if they can be prosecuted criminally for every failed embryo.  Judges play doctor to the detriment of women trying to build families.

86% of voters support IVF. Even 78% who identify as "pro-life support IVF including evangelicals @ 83%.

The right is on the wrong side again.

Midnight1 is right.  In vitro fertilization is popular in the US with thousands of IVF babies born every year.  But Alabama court absurd ruling jeopardizes access to reproductive healthcare.  Trump deserves blame because he claims credit for nominating supreme court judges who overturn Roe versus Wade. Resulting in erosion of women rights to stop unwanted pregnancy and to build a family.  In contrast, Biden and democrats are fighting to protect reproductive rights.

Senate democrat Duckworth proposes bill to protect access to popular in vitro fertilization.  For years, she has tried to advance a similar bill blocked by republicans.  Under the law, frozen embryos shouldn't be recognized as children with equal rights.  Otherwise reproductive freedom would be threatened.  Women who are unable to have kids without help from modern medicine could be put in jail.  IVF clinics could face wrongful death lawsuits or be criminally charged because discarding unused embryos is routine for IVF.  As with abortion and contraceptive, patients and doctors are best qualified to make decisions about reproductive healthcare.  Not government overreach.

Huff post reveals that republicans are hypocrites who are all talk and no action.  They express support for in vitro fertilization but do nothing to protect it.  Republican senator Hyde-Smith blocks a democrat bill that would have protected access to IVF on the federal level.  Rogue states can still prevent IVF clinics operating.  Key difference is that democrats support reproductive choice while republicans want to restrict reproductive rights.

If re-elected, Trump promises a nationwide abortion ban similar to Youngkin's failed proposal.  Virginia referendum shows voters don't want abortion bans.  Rejecting 15 weeks ban with exceptions for rape, incest and risk to pregnant woman.  In every state that held a vote on abortion, the pro-choice side won.  Ridiculous to impose a time limit on access to healthcare because of religious belief.  If a embryo or fetus is a legal person, rapist could sue victim for wrongful death caused by abortion.

Despite abortion bans in more States, 2023 saw more abortions than any year since 2019 because abortion is vital healthcare.  Over 60% of abortions are via medication.  But in supreme court case, Food drug administration expertise  is being challenged based on misinformation.  Truth is that over-regulated abortion pill is safer than tylenol.  Republican war on reproductive rights should concern women everywhere.

Strange to think that an embryo can lose it's rights if it develops into a female.

While states find ways to restrict reproductive freedom of women, Canada is doing the opposite.  Prime minister Trudeau announces taxpayer funding for free contraceptives.  This would reduce demand for abortions and ensure a child born is a child wanted.  In Canada, abortion is decriminalized and abortion rates are lower than in the US.
