they are typically just articles claiming a poll was conducted and not always about who was poled, how many were polled or any particular criteria that may or may not have been used....polls are dicey at best because you could corner rats and create a predictable outcome if you wanted to....national polls of value need to have well more than a 1 to 2 hundred thousand people involved and come from different areas of the country and have a whole range of demographically different types of people to hold any weight....surveying 20 thousand people just doesn't get you there in terms as being a good poll for the entirety of the nation....I'm not even sure 1 to 2 hundred thousand people gets you there either to tell you the truth....
