Private education and health services continued to drive job growth with 112,000 job gains. Health care and social assistance accounted for 100,400 of those, followed by professional and business services at 74,000 and retail trade at 45,200.
The leisure and hospitality industry added a mere 11,000 jobs in January but registered its 36th consecutive month of job gains, BLS data shows. As of January, this critical service industry that was bludgeoned at the outset of the pandemic is a mere 0.4% (75,000 jobs) from reaching its February 2020 employment levels.

Those figures posted are related to the Staffing industry, as in Temporary Agencies....which quite frankly employ a vast majority of employees in the US...American Staffing Associations estimates that about 3 million employees work through a Staffing Agency every week and about 14.5 million per year will hire workers through contract labor...this is down from an estimated 16 million per year pre-pandemic...
So these figures are very relative to the market and I'm sure many in here are either working for a Staffing Agency now or did so in the past or know someone who is currently employed in that capacity....again though, all numbers are skewed but the relativity of Staffing Agencies in the work sector is extremely important...and the reason why most companies use these companies can vary but there are very distinct advantages...

What’s more, while January’s jobs report showed employers adding 353,000 positions last month, we also learned that wage growth continued to outpace inflation!
And the jobless rate under the Biden administration has been below 4% for 24 consecutive months — a streak unseen in the US since the late 1960s!

Yeah, credit card spending - As households struggle to cope with higher costs on gas, groceries and everything in between, it’s no surprise that credit card balances have soared,

Do the correct thing and show yourself that you are truly not partisan , and that it’s not all just talk , by putting your money where your mouth is , and getting into some of those same spirited conversations and discussions that you’re famous for with the people here in this thread that deserve it .
It’s there to be had . My goodness . Just once . You’ll feel better

Also note, the jobs report that comes every year in early February is especially notable because it includes revisions for all of the previous year. With this in mind, we now know that 3.05 million jobs were created in 2023 — well above the previous 2.7 million estimate.

The U.S. national debt is climbing at an astronomical pace and has shown no signs of slowing down despite the heightened scrutiny on government spending.
The national debt — which measures what the U.S. owes its creditors — dropped to $34,155,015,629,668.67 trillion as of Thursday afternoon, according to the latest numbers published by the Treasury Department. That is down about $36 billion from the $34,191,150,402,393.64 figure reported the previous day.
"America’s fiscal outlook is more dangerous and daunting than ever, threatening our economy and the next generation," said Michael Peterson, the CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation that advocates for reducing the federal deficit. "This is not the future any of us want, and it’s no way to run a great nation like ours."
The spike in the national debt follows a burst of spending by and Democratic lawmakers.
As of September 2022, Biden had already approved roughly $4.8 trillion in borrowing, including $1.85 trillion for a COVID relief measure dubbed the American Rescue Plan and $370 billion for the bipartisan infrastructure bill, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), a group that advocates for reducing the deficit.

Home equity borrowing is at an all-time high. Borrowing from 401ks are at an all-time high. Because of Democrats insane spending interest rates are at a 25-year high and have added 80% to mortgage payments. The average credit card interest rate is 28%. Car loans are in an all-time high.

Dude, staffing agencies do not employ a majority of American workers.
Not all staffing/temp agencies are trash, some are great! But so so many are fly by night operations, with some run by organized crime rings who intentionally run them into the ground every 2-3 years only to resurface elsewhere.
To pretend staffing agencies are representative of the entire labor market is ludicrous.

Home equity loans were far higher years ago before Biden was president.

February 2 NEW REPORT points to blockbuster U.S. job growth as 2024 begins Biden's 4th year
MSNBC -
By every metric, the latest jobs report points to an incredibly strong U.S. job market!
Expectations heading into this morning showed projections of about 185,000 new jobs having been added in the United States in January.
As it turns out, according to the new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job market managed to do much better than that!
Job growth posted a surprise increase in January, demonstrating *AGAIN* that the U.S. labor market is solid and poised to support broader economic growth!
Let’s put the data in perspective. Over the course of the first three years of Trump’s failed presidency — when the Republican said the US’ economy was the greatest in the history of the planet — the economy created roughly 6.35 million jobs, spanning all of 2017, 2018 and 2019.
According to the latest tally, the U.S. economy has created roughly 15.1 million jobs since January 2021 — more than double Trump’s first 3 years.

How many of those ""created jobs"" were jobs earlier lost due to the pandemic.
