The Hill reveals that Biden administration is investing $1 billion in 85 airports to upgrade terminals. It could help airports deal with passengers demand amid an increase in cancelled and delayed flights.
infrastructure improvements always needed but unfortunately this funding and the improvements will occur long after the current wave of increased demand has passed
still better than nothing which is what the chump crime family admin did about it :: nothing

This is true, though certainly no fault of the current administration. These efforts take time.
When eventually complete it will help at least in a small way, just not in the immediate future.

More good news is welcome particularly in any direction where we can wean our nation from dependency on foreign resources.
Thank you President Biden

Biden administration cancels another $3.9 billion in student loan debt for former for-profit college students
...bringing the total amount of loan discharges approved under President Joe Biden to nearly $32 billion.
Biden is expected to announce by the end of August whether he will more broadly cancel student loan debt for the 43 million federal student loan borrowers. Biden has suggested he would support wiping away $10,000 per borrower, in line with a pledge he made on the campaign trail in 2020.
Howmuch did trump help students with their loan debts?

While you cheer this on, you have no idea the ramifications this will cause to banking and lending. You should really do more research before you cheer this. While this helps a small percentage of borrowers (who agreed to borrow money they would pay back) this will have such a bigger impact on future borrowers looking to purchase cars, homes or who need more credit to keep up with inflation.
This move is only going to put a strain on the banks and financial system. Think 2008 but instead of housing causing the burst, it's student loans. Hopefully they've used their over priced education to provide a benefit to society.
STUDENT LOAN SECURITIZATION
The United States alone has approximately $1.73 trillion in outstanding student loan debt, from 45 million borrowers.1 Student loan asset-backed securities (SLABS) are exactly what they sound like, securities based on outstanding student loans. These loans are packaged into securities that investors can buy, which deliver scheduled coupon payments much like an ordinary bond.
The main purpose behind SLABS is to diversify the risk for lenders across many investors. By pooling and then packaging the loans into securities and selling them to investors, agencies can spread around the default risk, which allows them to give out more loans and larger loans. This way, more students have access to loans, investors have a diversifying investment instrument, and lenders can generate consistent cash flow from their securitization and debt collection services.

About 41% of recent college graduates are considered underemployed, or working in jobs that typically do not require a college degree. About one in nine recent college graduates work in a low-wage job, those that tend to pay around $25,000 or less. That is one of the reasons many can't pay their bills. They should do community work in order to take advantage of this.
Ya probably have a college educated short order cook making your pancakes & another collecting the plates when you are finished eating.
As an employer, don't tell me what you've learned in school. Show what you have done/can do. When you graduate from college, you are guaranteed nothing!
@BigGame90

A lot of that falls on the individual & their choices. I know of several situations of college students who made good or bad choices, from those that worked their way through to those that screwed around & now have nothing to show but debt. Sometimes it's just bad luck........graduating into a bad job market for one. But the number of people that went to school for fun, or maybe didn't belong there in the 1st place, or simply chose poorly for their area of studies, must still bear the responsibility for racking up the debt.

I agree MUGG. No one should get a free ride. Think of all the athletes that get athletic scholarships, never get their degree/graduate & end up with nothing. Then you have those who major in a field that doesn't pay a decent salary. Look at our poor teachers who have to pay for their own class supplies to teach in this country. I find that totally fucked up!
We still need electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc. but the last 2 generations don't seem to be embracing these fields. I believe most of us in here worked hard & long to have what we now have & we want our kids to enjoy life & have even more than us. Our kids know they are set for life but if either one of them became a non-productive member of society, they would get zilch & the veterans and animal shelters would be getting more than we have already stipulated in our wills.

Then you have those who major in a field that doesn't pay a decent salary.--- this is easily accessible information when choosing a major. No excuses for this.
We still need electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc. but the last 2 generations don't seem to be embracing these fields.--- maybe if the loans weren't federally backed (which, hello, raised tuition from colleges, because they are guaranteed to get paid), then students may have considered these fields and they would have been more sought after. But when there's "(piratically) guaranteed loans" for college, students/ young adults don't consider other options because they've been pushed to take loans to attend college and maybe studly less desirable fields with lower salaries. Banks didn't care about what field you study as long as you take loans so they can use YOUR dents as THEIR collateral. What happens when YOUR debts DEFAULT?!
Who do you think bails out the banks when they make major mistakes?

While this story pertains particularly to an institutio that was seeming defrfauding their students, the fact that Biden is helping those and Trump did not is significant.

Helping a very small amount of borrowers, NOT helping EVERY tax payer. But you only see the headlines and can't look further. It's ok, you might understand one day.

Of course. Trump made decisions benefitting far fewer people.
For Biden admin this is a good start. More help being contemplated and if any is ultimately forthcoming it will be far and away more than any president in recent memory, especially Trump.
